I am asking for them to be changed such that they assume the lower body will move as it needs to for the upper body animation to work. Most power seem to fit one of not (that) many patterns for the upper/lower body boundary: forward slightly, forward and down, down slightly, float upwards and down, float upwards while turning around, the slight up-down of the footstomp? in the heavy melee attacks like headplitter... (DP does not follow this pattern as much but that's a special case, for now).

So the powers would use their existing animations and the lower body itself would use an animation to fit the required pattern. And since there are a lot less patterns than powers it would become feasible to add and animate non-humanoid forms (like in my previous post in this thread) or "limited" humanoid forms like floor-length robes/skirts.

I understand this might require too much effort to be practical despite the potentially huge increases in customization that would result, so I am only asking David/other devs to look into this with a "can we do this?" check, as opposed to suggesting that it must be done.

I just want to expand on this a bit because this is something you don't see very often in games. Due to the fact that its so hard to do well. As has been pointed out.

Now because a picture tells a thousand words... (its from Rifts)
And here is another example. He's a bit more main stream for those that don't know about Rifts.

Now I know were never going to have the ability to have 4 arms or back mounted cannons or any thing. I'm not suggesting that... Well maybe back mounted cannons at some point...

    Any way moving on.

I would LOVE to have Tracks as a monstrous legs option. This would necessitate all kicks becoming punches and I'm sure a thousand other little problems we players will never know of. For example forcing the player to pick those animations which work with the legs they have. Even so I think it would be so very very cool and something no other MMO can boast of.

After we have tracks we can move on to other things like hover sled bodys and wheels and spider legs. (This is a Necon Destroyer from WH40K) I don't have a good wheeled robot pick any one got one?

If you're average as to what looks normal, you're to-scale with the various civilians, villains and (most) other NPCs, but you're HUGE compared to buildings and cars. So it's not a simple matter of fixing the ruler, because the ruler is actually right. It's EVERYONE ELSE in-game that's wrong, and re-sizing all the NPCs at this point is just out of the question. Too much work and too many people left with unintentionally huge characters.

This is what I was trying to say.

IMO they should re-size the civilians at least I there are prolby only 10 0r 20 of them that get reused with different items and names they may even be generated randomly and locale. Obviously resizing every NPC is to much work but the civilians should be doable.
  12. One thing to note here is that If you make a female 8 "feet" tall and stand next to a regular mission door. The top of your head will be even with the top of the door. This would be consistent with doors in "Real Life" for most commercial doors. Many doors in your average household are around 7 feet.

I do however agree that the sense of scale dose at times feel off in COH/V.

I like this idea. I think its unique and could have the coolest animation ever.
  14. Hmm ok so I am right to ask them to charge in first. Just had some bad players then.

Well thank you all at least now I know I'm doing it right and not being a total a**.
  15. Asks a question.

Please note I have never played a Tanker but I like to lead PUGs. In fact its all I do. That said I would like to know why a taker when the only one on the team, follows behind me the scraper now we all know that scrappers are suppose to charge large groups of solid purple bad guys and walk away .... some times but its the tanks job to make sure that happens right?

So why to 1/2 the Tanks I invite to my teams let me charge? Seriously the team runs in and stops a little ways away from a group and stares at it....

    stares at it some more....

The defenders AOE heal goes off... it must be on auto I wonder if there afk?....

O look now the blaster is running in... and 1 ..2 ...3 yep DEAD.

O now NOW the tank rushes in there we go.

Agin over the past week of running a PUG always a full team. I see this happen all the time some times every DAM SPAWN.

Ok ok I'll talk to him maybe hes on the phone or something

Team Valkyries Executor: Hea (tanks name) can you pleas rush ahead of the group to take the alpha?
Team Tankzor: Don't tell me how to play my AT.
Team Valkyries Executor: ... Ok but nobody else can take the alpha can you please play a bit more aggressively?
    Team Tankzor: @#$% you Mother#$%&#@
    Tankzor has quit the team.
Team Valkyries Executor: S*** hang on a sek guys getting a Warshade.

Again this isn't an isolated thing at least 3-4 different tanks have all played the same way, waiting for some one else to attack, and reacted the same way when I asked them to be a bit more aggressive.

So please enplane to me how you guys play Tanks? Because clearly I don't understand what the point of your AT is. Or why you wate for some one else to attack the spawn and get the alpha.
  16. You notice that this is at LEAST the third time Steelclaw has made this thread.
  17. Thank you. This build is the one I'll go with I think. I can deal with the 8.5 less +damage. Seeing as how everything else is better. I do reget the loss of the good buffer I had on my range defense it would help prevent the whole cascading defense failure thing. Even so I think I'll do fine. The only reason I had the +Stealth in there was because I wasn't thinking. My MM and Coruptor both have them because there low HP a scraper, especially THIS scraper won't have that problem.

In any case I plan on getting Numas, Miracle, Steadfast, and Performance Shifter Uniques all with merits. That's the one good thing about blue side lots of TF's to run.
  18. Hmmm heres another build. I dropped One With The Shield because its nothing more than a panic butten. However if I'm soft caped I don't think I'm going to need it.

Also this toon is already Level 35 and has lots of vet specks to burn no worrys there.

  19. A few things first this is a thematic build in that Fly and Targeting Drone are necessary. Also keep in mind that This toon is going to have to fund herself. (Via farming/TF's) So please do try and keep the price down. I realize that the Build I have now ant cheep ether but still. I would like soft cap ranged and mele and I've done that. With AOE almost at 40%.

    This is so very true.

I PUG exclusively its all I do in this game I don't like SG's and honstly never found one that was worth sticking with. New players are often the same way often they only pay every month. Some times they may not even have the cash to do that so staying with the same group of people is a difcult thing to do. I like to lead teams and on redside I'll do a story line every now and then If I've done it before and know what to expect, but on blue side?

    Forget it.

You advrage PUG dosent have the time or inclation to sit there wile you go 3 zones over for an intorduction. Just dosen't happen. Raidos are sadly the only real PUG content that can be done in the advrage PUG time frame. (1 to 2 houres). My playtime is about 4 houres continuness I start a team (full team I always try to keep it full) at 8p.m. and keep it going till 12:01a.m. Allmost allways by the time I log at 12 its a compleatly diffrent group of people than when I started. PUGs are fast paced and don't want excuses they want XP and they wanted it 10 min ago. What we need are mini stoy arks that are 2-4 missions long and STAY IN ZONE. Content like that would be great for PUGS.

This hasten is IMO the worst offender but CJ, SJ, hover, fly Could do away with there VFX.

Agin I am all for this change.

However its still a Change. People don't like change. I was simply trying to inform the OP that he was going to have to defend agenst this tipe of argument and offed the most obvious Hand-waving option for those people.

The Kheldians could get missions specific to their origin: tracking down supplies of quantum rifles, putting down rogue Kheldians, that sort of thing.

I have no prolblem with this however not every ones VEAT is still a lackey of Arachnos. In fact I think part of the "official" cannon has it as you left because you were fed up with Lord Recluse/special treatment of the project DESTINY.

Now not every ones back story follows that theirs always room for other options but if any thing like this ever came along it would have to be optional. Prehaps they can use the new side switching tec to also add a loyalty to Arcachnos/Roge Arcachnos system along with the side switching stuff and maybe tie it into the incarnate system.
