Quote:Didnt they say alls those things would be sellable ont he market? So if you don't get hwat you want, sell them, and buy them when others put them on the market.I'm glad these changes have sated a portion of the playerbase that was upset in the super packs would be 'the only' way to obtain ATIOs, however, these changes do nothing to assuage the frustration my portion of the playerbase has.
For those of us who only want the costume parts from the super packs, where are we left? I have no use for consumables (my e-mail is still filled with the freebies), and I don't want to collect ATIOs. So, why would I buy the packs? Costume parts.
However, at this point, I'm spending a money for packs filled with stuff I don't want and no guaranteed chance of getting any costume parts, and thus, I will likely not buy any. I would, however, want to buy the costume parts at a fair price.
At this point, I sort of expecting to write these new parts off as unattainables because given the other stuff I don't want that is being bundling into what I want to buy, they will likely be too expensive to warrant purchasing. However, I still hold out hope for change. -

Wait?! It goes live tomorrow after maintence?! Not at midnight like all the other items have become available?!

Quote:This too sadly. Not saying I could do better. But when they put in comments that basically involve making things like inspirations and other game mechanics some real world thing instead of just that, game mechanics, it ruins it for me.I really hate to belittle anyone, but a large number of the fanmade comics are really bad in one way or another...it's like AE, I don't want to wade through so much chaff to get to the good ones. So I don't even look anymore.
Yeah, I get it, the game tried to make it all IC, you know what, I think that was a mistake
then seeing signature characters written in ways I think are off from the character doesnt help either.

Tough call! Any would be good, but I'm thinking going with the newest port to scrappers...
Energy Aura!
Taunt aura, to help keep enemies closer to you for Dragon's Tail, self heal, end management, defense, minor resists, all around good set that comes with a stealth. -
Quote:I have no vendetta. One of the main arguments against the first post of this thread, exemplified here, is that long-standing forum vendettas dictate that this game system should never be changed because heroes have had it too good for too long. Maybe you guys should take a look inward to see whether this is something worth harboring disdain over.
I just think the patron power pools should remain just that. And I think Hero Patron Pools should be avoided BECAUSE of the fact that so many people complained about such things.
"What?! This Power Pool is linked to RP story that doesn't make sense for my character but I want it!"
or
"I'm nobody's lackey/sidekick! Why would I do this?!"
Which are the complaints that came about from PPPs.
I don't even go for redside epics for themes all the time. Sometimes I go for them for the simple reason that they get the toggle armor at as a tier 1 (corrs/defenders dont) and their toggle armors are useable with ANY concept as they just give them a basic gow. -
Quote:It's not a waste of time if what your goal is, is to have access to the Patron Pools.Obviously being two different people there is no inconsistency here on anyone's part but I found it a little funny hearing exactly opposing points back to back. Thing is, I don't disagree with either of you. It's interesting and makes sense to have to unlock the pools, yet that is easily ignored and the game doesn't try very hard at all to engage you in that mechanic beyond forcing you to click through a bit of text and be present in a few missions.
What I think the OP has an issue with, and what I have an issue with, is that if you don't care about the story then unlocking these pools is just a big waste of your time. If you stacked all the missions you had to do end to end it's only a couple hours, no big deal, but the fact that it is also spread over a number of days by a number of annoying timers makes it a pain to do. It isn't fun. We know they could do better because they have produced much better content than this many times since issue 7.
I'm not a programmer but I don't think it would be that hard to add some SSA-like contact who sent you off via submarine to run a patron's missions under cover, or whatever. They could feel free to come up with something better than that if they wanted to. Any method of heroically gaining access to the patron pools would be an improvement over the current situation as long as it weren't either character-breaking or tediously protracted, a feat they could manage handily. -
Quote:You have access to the content. The only thing limiting you to that content is your own choice.Speaking only for myself, if I waited in vigilante limbo from 20 to 34 I would be losing several billion influence per character from the hero merits I wouldn't be earning. Of course you don't actually have to do it at level 20 but to dismiss losing hero merits offhand is rather silly as they are massively lucrative.
That aside, what are you supposed to do if your character concept doesn't involve deciding to become a villain for any amount of time, especially not for a reason as petty as getting an in with a cadre of chumps who wind up being so much incarnate fodder in the end? I don't feel particularly strongly about this myself but having read this forum I can tell you that a lot of people would. "So live without those powers," you reply. Why should we have to? What would be wrong with an alternate means of access? What if someone really wants to be a heroic ghost shark summoner?
Me, I never use those pools because red side seems completely pointless and I like hero merits too much to turn them off for such questionable benefit. Even though I can clearly live without them, though, would I complain about more access to more content? I would not.
Personally, I'll go redside completely OOCly if I think the patron pools fit the concept. There's no reason to think one did it totally IC, when the patron's dont even limit you to the pool you want anymore.
I mean really. You can't go redside due to concept, but you'll run the Ghost Widow arc to obtain the LEviathan Mastery PPP? (Obviously when I say you, I'm using that in a broad term).
I like to use Soul Mastery over Dark Mastery for lots of concepts that use Dark Powers, if I can get access to Soul Storm (love the animation). -
Quote:Oh noes!Good thing you brought up A Merits that's another one of my gripes. You can't get any from tips or SSA in that period either. Thats like 4-5 merits you missed out(one for each change and one for the SSA weekly).

Then pick an APP instead. Really, if you're willing to run tips daily to get the hero merits, running tips for a few days to alter alignments isn't really a chore.
And like I said, wait it out. Level 20, make way to vigilante, get to the morality mission mark, wait to run it untill you're level 34, then runt he morality, become a villain, unlock the patron, and do 5 more tips for Rogue!
Next day, 5 tips and morality and you're Rogue! 2 more days and your Hero again! \o/ And doing it that way, put's you to six days worth of tips, LESS THAN A WEEK, because you went straight to Vigilante. -
Quote:Yeah, but other people want everything handed to them without any effort on their part too.Yep. And since this isn't the first time this is brought up, I guess other people are too. But too bad this thread is turning to a excuse for forum celebs to PL their post count.

I showed you how to do it without feeling like it actually takes a week, since it seems that you're real problem is either you would prefere to stay on blueside for teaming, want to stay strictly hero for hero merits, or don't want to do any tips at all.
It's not bad, you get badges for it, and now you can unlock the patron arcs sooner, meaning even easier tips to switch sides with. -
Firemoth brought up a good idea in another thread, bishi style looks for males!

Quote:Same thought when it comes to the CG ones.I could never get into a lot of the fan-comics. Either they used slightly creepy-looking (IMO) CG, or they used the in-game models with lines hastily drawn around the objects and characters. I'm sure some of them were well written, maybe even a lot of them, but I kinda prefer drawn comics myself. Especially since most of the in-game screenshot comics can only draw from the same pool of animations, so the actual panels are visually uninteresting...
I'd totally love to see more drawn ones, though. Like I said, it's more of a personal preference thing.
Not to mention I don't care for some of those stories. -
Quote:Hmmm...I didn't think I've been against the idea of more conservative outfits. I also haven't been against the whole "The outfit isn't very Gunslinger" in fact, I've agreed with that comment.Count me in as a mom who is more conservative at this point in her life.

I could care less about what others in the game are wearing, be it almost nothing, or totally covered. I'm not playing those characters.
I'm also *not* against the revealing, frilly, feminine stuff. There's also a good argument there that Frilly/Feminine does not have to include revealing as well, but I'll leave that to others. I love many of the feminine pieces and use them, covering up skin with tights and other pieces where I can.
My problem is the Gunslinger set having nothing 'gunslinger' for females. Plain and simple.
I don't understand those here who keep accusing us of being prudish, or that we're accusing the designers of being sexist, etc. Desiring to create female characters that are dressed more masculinely, or conservatively female is hardly prudish.
There has not been a single person here who has decried that all sexualized pieces should be removed. Not one.
Now, if I created a frumpy character and stood in Atlas, pointing at all the painted Jezebels running around and hassling them, *THEN* feel free to call me prudish. :P
Otherwise, can we stop derailing things by dragging up such hyperbole?
I have to echo what others have said. Sure, we have some options, but it gets tiring having to resort to those same options over and over when there just isn't anything else conservative being put out to supplement those old options.
One could argue easily that cheesecake can be created with what's already in the game, so why do we need more? Why does conservative get told to 'suck it up' and be accused of trying to ruin the fun?
Though I do think a lot of the pieces made available can enhance a conservative look.

I love the look of the pom-poms! It's what made me roll up two energy melee tankers and an energy melee Stalker!
That said, the only thing they really need to do imo to fix the set, is return ET to it's old animation

Padded Gloves option! I love them! But please, PLEASE give it an option to have sleeves with them that attach to the Tights and Sleek Tights options!
Ability to color the sleeves and gloves and that's it!
Please! Make it happen!

Quote:Good thing the cheesecake has been in moderation then.I do not like cheesecake...
But I do like pie....
I like all different kinds of pie....
But I don't want pie for every single meal...
If I were to have pie for every single meal, I don't think I'd like it as much.
I might even *gasp* get tired of pie.
So, in order to keep pie special and enjoyable, I prefer to consume it in moderation.

Yeah, I know I don't always see or hear everyone level, but when I do, I always say gratzie!

But during a sewer run, I don't always say it, since the level just tend to go by quickly in there. -
Quote:Nope. Not at all. And it's not weeks, it's 1 week. And if you get to vigilante at lvl 20, get to the point of the morality mission, and thenrun it as soon as you plan to open the patron pools, and start working your way back over that same day.Shouldn't it be time to open this up to both sides without like weeks of alignment missions? Or have an lv50 arc that puts you undercover so that it makes sense to have it.
It's like every hero I make needs to go through this ritual of sides witching because the Villian pools are imo alot better. -

Quote:My only problem has been the "sexist" comment. Which is what a lot of this started out as.bunches of people threatened to ragequit ? not saying it didn't happen but I might of missed that , I was off camping for a few days and missed some of the original thread .
I do know quite a few people , myself included did say they'ed be voting with their dollars and avoiding purchasing the gunslinger pack which seems much more sensible then ragequiting .
Heck you even told folks that if they didn't like it not to buy it I belive granted I think you also said something about not complaining too .
It wasn't something simple as "Gawd! I hate this set for females!" (which I can see!) "Make it look like the male Gunslinger, and THEN you'll have my money." I'd never have had a problem.
But no, a lot of it came down to "Sexist!" and saying speaking of trends, that have been shown not to be trends (yet anyways). -
Quote:While I wish the slider went smaller as well, one has to realize this game doesn't do adolesents very well, as in not at all.strangely enough I saw one in demo for a game recently but it was listed as the 'sex appeal' slider and enhanced certain attributes on both male and female characters in the game ..I think it was Saints Row 3 .
as for a attributes slider I wish the female one went smaller , my grade schooler power puff girl homage looks like she is stuffing her bra .
