Took three times to get it right! a SG memeber asked to take turns with me on it too. I was nervous when I watched him go thinking..."He's going to kill him before I do!"
Luckily, he didn't
Waiting on Tyrant to regain full health is annoying though. :P -
-
BEcause out of all the ATs, Scrappers are the only ones that feel comic book worthy, without massive IO investment!
-
Tyrant Lvl 50! NO TEMPS! NO SKITTLES! Lot's of Hovering! And at times...some use of lava!
Took three tries! Stupid 3 successful hits in a row!
But I let him heal up everytime before starting again!
WOOT!
Lvl 50 DB/WP
I'm so proud!

Quote:A pokemon MMO would dethrone WoW!hi there..
ive been tryin to read the whole thread.. kinda hard.. yes there are too many mmo's out there.
I have tried COH ,AoC,CO, Warhammer, SWG,DDO,Vanguard, EQ2, Lotro, free realms, and WoW.
I still play WoW, but as you can see ive tried alot of games - a few stick out for me but ya know I could say alot about any of them i played all and enjoyed something about all of them. im now on my bored of wow downturn ( yup it happens every year for me) so i come back to check others.
now about COH if memory serves its around same age as wow and still going, yes it may not have the wow numbers but different players play these games.
anyways super hero MMO's are difefrent Ive tried the new CO.. graphics was awesome but i didnt like the game as much, COH i havent played much but liked what i did, still waiting for DCUO to decide which superhero MMO is it going to be. I will say what i read about COH updates and such seem darn good.
I'd say CoH is the WoW of super hero mmo's it been here and still is
btw the only people tp dethrown WoW is blizzard itself it has way too much lore and story from its warcraft games,
Not that I care if WoW stays on top or not. Just saying, I think a Pokemon MMO would get MASSIVE numbers.

Going for Kinetic Combat's tends to help in the +HP department and +Defense

DB/WP is a nice combo for DMG & Defense imo.
Now only if the Kinetic Combat's were easy to come by. -

Quote:Wow...Tech Sleek set was a vet reward! I didn't realize that!It goes way beyond the Angel and Demon Wings you get at 15 months:
18 Months: Samurai Armor (one of my favorite sets)
21 Months: Shoulder Capes
27 Months: Tech Sleek set
30 Months: Signature group logos for chest pieces (Freedom Phalanx, Vindicators, Vanguard, Arachnos, PPD, Cage Consortium, CoT, Council)
39 Months: Boxing Set
51 Months: Crab Spider, Blood Widow, Mu Mystic, Wolf Spider Helmets
30 month vet reward. Meh. I used the Vindicators logo, for the stylized V once. The toon got genericed :P Haven't used any of that since.
Samuria Armor. Never used it.
Okay, I use the Shoulder cape, untill I reach lvl 20.
Yup. The rest I don't use at all either! Looks like those rewards mean nothing to me (but possibly more to others. of course.
)
So all in all...I HAVE MY BELLY TEES! I AM HAPPY! *huggles belly tees* -
Try all the ATs out!
As someone who's first toon was a Scrapper. Who's first toon to 50 was a scrapper (different thatn my first toon tho). And who has more Scrappers at 50 than any other AT, know this...
...just because it's an easier AT to get used to, doesn't make it the best choice to start out with.
You play your scrapper get it to 50, and you will realize...OMG! These other ATs (except Tank) DIE SO EASILY!
All that said, find a combo that looks good to you, and play it.
Best way to go really.

Quote:But you just said AFTER 1 OR 2!Back to the topic at hand:
Without some level of graphical tweeking, bushy tails will suck. I hate using Second Life as an example, but they do have some pretty nice looking tails in there, unfortunately they have some steep prim counts attached to them, at least the good ones. The low prim count ones look like CO's tails.
As for multi-tails.... okay not even Second Life can make them look right. After 1 or 2, it just looks like you have feather duster on your butt. Lets just keep it to one.
Sooo...two is good.

Quote:You know...I was going to check out that link. But Sam's review forced me too. Wow! It was good!Holy... Frikkin... HELL!!! I... I know I'm supposed to comment on the sexy here, but HOLY HELL! That animation is GORGEOUS! Whoever did this buster their *** lip-syncing and smoothing out fluent animations and just... Wow... I'm a sucker for good animation, I really am. I've been known to watch stupid things (like A.T.O.M.) just because they're well-animated, and this is just beautiful AND well-drawn. In fact, it reminds me of whoever artist it was that drew that Gilligan's Isle comic. Those who know what I'm talking about will know what I mean.
This is just superb artwork. All the way. Animation that switches angles like this is just pure gold, and it doesn't go the frikkin' cheap Hanna-Barbera route of having a static sprite with an anime-animated mouth flapping, these guys have full-body animation in every frame. And it's not just a lot of work, it's actually done with style and skill in a way that just ties together beautifully. It's the kind of artwork that puts major animation studios to shame. If anything, it reminds of the Stickman vs. Door flick that used to be so popular, because it demonstrates that you don't need fancy graphics, Photoshop filters, huge colouring or really anything than charcoal black and paper white to make a good animation. Well, that and ARTISTIC ABILITY!
And, yeah... Sexy, completely forgot about that. Look, I'm sorry about geeking out about animation techniques and completely neglecting the actual sexy for two fat paragraphs, and yes, I know this probably speaks very badly for me as a person, but... Yeah, sexy... I really love how this is done. It has no nudity in it, but that's the charm of it - it doesn't need it. Through a combination of sexy back, suggestive faces and the three idiots' reactions, the message gets carried through well enough without overstepping any real boundaries. Of course, anyone familiar with the genre will recognise this as one of the cornerstone approaches to this sort of thing, but it works well in this video. And yet...
Yes, that confounded me, as well. I mean, sure, it's kind of suggestive, but I specifically looked up the original video for Stacy's Mom. Not only is it DULL by comparison, but its sexappeal is just... Crude. It's your run-of-the-mill cheesecake strutting about like in, I don't know... EVERY MUSIC VIDEO EVER MADE? Seriously, how do music videos escape the censors, but a no-worse-by-comparison cartoon gets flagged for mature content? I had to dig out my old account for this, and I am GLAD I did, because artwork and directing of this magnitude are just priceless finds.
That's a one in a million, Merlin. Thank you
*edit*
Never mind, answered my own question. I've had that name saved on a variety of computers, but I was never able to remember it. Cool, that puts a name on the artist so I know what to look for. And he is a DAMN GOOD artist, at that. I've seen a LOT of comics stuff, believe me when I say this. Both anthro and more regular, and Fred Perry is one of the BEST artists around. He has a very distinct style in both physique and personality that just works. And not just based on pure technical artwork. It works because it has an impact above and beyond theory. I'll definitely have to look up a few more of his works, possibly finish Gold Digger, too. I just knew that artwork looked familiar

Quote:Heh...I was actually wondering if would be able to handle UM at highest setting.Isn't it delightful to rub your awesome gameputer in the faces of those with less than awesome computers?

I keep hearing 58xx Series for ATI cards for max settings, but mines 57xx series.
Which, when I bought my computer (just recently) the 5750 was the best one they had...I didn't see any 58xx Series, or I likely would have gotten that instead. -
Quote:Can't she be hot because of being Anthro AND having so many guns?Okay the question here though. Is she hot cause of anthro or all the guns?
I say guns oooh so many guns.
And if you want to go on the subject of WB and anthro. Actualy if you are going to compare a female version of bugs that was made for sex appeal. You have to look at Babs. Flatout she was made to "spring" all the anthro lovers in the movie "Space Jam"
I see your anthros and raise you one I like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rmbN6-T-UE
and you know what all the bleepin furry hate made this video get a adult tag. I call Foul. What about this dang video screams only adults more then the orginal video for stacy's mom?
Can I beat the crap out of the people that flagged the video?

Quote:Seeing as how I want early access and want the up to date disk of GR...looks like NCSoft will be getting extra money from me!In another thread this came up and I wrote:
This may or may not be accurate, but it's my best guess.
I'm sure I won't be the only other like this, but will probably be the minority. -
Quote:I keep hoping for something close to that! I don't see why they can't put buff teammate abilities in the epics. I think they'd need to be more well rounded, but at a substantial lower value. If I could finally have my Broadsword/Shield Defense/Empathy paladin character, I would be able to die a happy soul.

^ Please let this character have Empathy as well. Pretty please? ^
Ie...
Shield Other (+5% Defense to All Positions/Types (except possibly Psi).
Fire Shield (+5% Resist all instead of broken up into multiple powers like thermal shields)
Heal Other or PBAOE Heal.
I don't want to see it split up personally, as it works for Power Sets itself (and is balanced for it), as an epic, I'd like to see it's teammate buff cover all areas.
And it doesn't have to be those percentages, those I just threw out there for the example.
Basically, new powers added to epics. Especially for the melee, I'd rather have a team buff than a hold or immobilize, as it would help my concept alot more than those holds/immobilizes do. -

Quote:Okay. They have specifically stated that a hero can go all the way to being a villain, and vice versa.
Hero ATs have to start either in Paragon City (as a Hero) or in Praetoria (as a Praetorian, whose loyalty choices will make the character either Hero or Villain by level 20).
Villain ATs have to start either in the Rogue Isles (as a Villain) or in Praetoria.
I can live with it. Not like my I have to have the ability to start any AT on redside, and any AT on blueside.
Though, I can see that happening sometime later personally. Probably after GR has been out awhile. -
-
Will buying the box set for GR, come with CoH/CoV free? I hope so! I'd love to get my hands on an updated copy up to GR, for reinstalling purposes.
-
Quote:Oh. Now see, I don't recall if they said a hero could completely fall or if a villain could completely redeem themselves. That's exactly how it works.
A Hero and a Vigilante (falling hero) access Wentworths. A Villain and a Rogue (redeeming villain) access Black Market. Once a Vigilante takes the last step to becoming a Villain, they lose access to Wentworths and begin using Black Market. Once a Rogue takes the last step to becoming a Hero, they lose access to Black Market and begin using Wentworths.
There is no news yet if Praetorians (characters who begin in the alternate dimension of Praetoria) have access to either market, or one of their own.
For what I remember reading it sounded like Rogue/Vigilante was as far as they could go. I hope they can do the complete role reversal, I'd be ever happier to just have a blaster start out in the Zig, or a Stalker start out in Outbreak. Without having to change sides. -
Quote:+I can't say I've ever seen any art style actually hurt my eyes...but agreed. I just didn't like the art syle, and if I don't like the art style, I won't stay with a game all that long.If I have to pick one and only one reason I don't play Champions Online, I'd have to go with style. That game is UGLY. Sure, it has good graphics, but its style is just insulting. Character models look like they were ripped from The Incredibles (and that's not what I look for in a serious game), locations and villains were corny and costume details looked like they were designed for little children to gawk at, with nary a nod to style and dignity. The whole game is one giant caricature.
While I have nothing against people who like that sort of style, even though they should be ashamed of themselves, I just can't play it. I can't take the game seriously, it can't take itself seriously and all the glaring colours and lack of textures just hurt my senses.
Of course that said, I can like the art style, but hate how the game plays (WoW fits this bill) just as much. :P -
Quote:Now instead, you can make a character with wings, pick and AT power set combo you want, and say it's an Avilan!Maybe... We had always had the ability to fly and although the tech was given to everyone to be able to add wings via the costume creator; wings does not an AT make. That's almost the same as saying toons with tails would be a new AT.
I would like to think Avilans as an AT would be more than just having wings; maybe angelic beings for heroes and fallen angels for villains?

Quote:For the little bit of time I played CO, I didn't care about the effectiness, you could still make a playable toon, even if it wasn't the min/maxed best!Meh it's not that great, a lot of power are dependent on others to get their best effects
"oh you want fireblast? Well you will need imolation and conflagration to get the best out of Fire Blast!"
but yeah i had the same idea, I even mad a suggestion about it!
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=208815
Yes, the majority of players are going to flock to the min/max build. Me, I just stuck with the concept power picks, and did fine. I stopped playing though as my old computer kept getting mapserved off, for some reason. I think the computer was just to old to play it. And havent bothered to re install CO on my new one (yet...I'll check it out again at some point, since I bought the lifetime sub, and still don't regret it even if I've played it for a total of a month's time at most). -
Quote:Not to encourage you to play CO. If you don't like it, you don't like it. Don't play it.CO cell-shading gave me massive migraines.
The playability felt very choppy for me and I was reminded of my experiences with WoW. Did not like.
I'm not encouraging anyone to play CO. I just don't think people should be hoping it crash and burns.
That said, the cell shading could be turned off.
Me, I didn't like the art style they used.
CoX's art style feels really comic book style to me. While CO felt more "comic book style, but not taken seriously, so made to look way to cartoony" to me.
