Show me something that says those can't be ice created sharks. They don't look like real sharks to me. I can easily see them as ice creations.

Well /TIME just came out, and a lot of people just post builds now with MIDS as an options.

Quote:I started getting everything sorta planned out before i21 was live, and started slotting IOs at level 30.You aren't even at 50 yet, and you are already at 45% to ALL positions without PBU/PB?
How did you manage that, if you don't mind my asking?
On another note... I'm liking my Time/Sonic Defender. He's really helpful against hard targets because of all his -res stacking. I can get about -116% res stacked, sometimes a little more sometimes a little less, which helps the team just MELT AVs and the like.
Only issues are... VERY end heavy. Soloing is a nightmare, even though I can easily keep up damage and defense-wise. Even slotting End reducers doesn't seem to help.
Also, the lack of AoE. In order to maximize my Time abilities I need to dive right into the middle of mobs. Howl is great, and when stacked with Slowed Response gives -50% res to up to 10 targets... but Howl is a cone and doesn't work well in melee. So I end up having to jump in and out which tends to get annoying.
I'm starting to think something with a lot of targeted AoEs and PBAoEs might flow much better. However, I don't really care much about the damage since, on a team, there is usually enough of that already.
Originally I wanted to try DP for concept.... but it was just too late blooming and the secondary effects are not very good (even the -dmg with toxic rounds is fairly anemic on defenders and short-lasting).
My other idea was Electric Blast. Is sapping a viable strategy? Does it work against bigger targets, like AVs? I was just thinking of spamming Short Circuit and Ball Lightning when I wasn't buffing/de-buffing with time.
Thoughts? Experiences?
P.S.- No fix for Defender Chrono Shift recharge till Issue 21.5? NOOOOOOOOO!!!
Both +3% Defense IOs are lvl 10, those got slotted into Tough, which was taken at lvl 14.
Basically I use lvl 33 IO sets instead of lvl 50, because I exemp for TFs alot and like to have my bonuses remain at least for the TFs that put me at lvl 30.
[Edit] Okay at 45.05/43.19/43.49 R/M/A Defenses...when I get the Enzymes slotted in that should bump M/A to 44.4-45% I believe. -
Loving my DP/TIME Corr! The only thing I'm having a hard time deciding is which travel power to give her! Need to get her to redside to pick up Leviathan Mastery for the shield though.
I know keeping with PBU is likely the best way to go, but I want that Leviathan Mastery S/L/C resist shield for concept. Just how it needs to be!
She's at 45% to all positions as it is, so that just means I won't be at softcap for iTrials (though with my build that wasn't going to happen anyways, but 50%+ would of been nicer I'm sure
)
Now I just need to figure out which Alpha slot I'm going to give her. With all my others going Incarnate it was pretty straight forward, with Time I'm concidering all 4 of them for different reasons. Cardiac might be the best if my END issues are taken care of after all slotting is completed, but if END issues are taken care of...MORE DAMAGE is tempting, personally I like the idea of even better ACC and grabbing a hold of just a bit more DEF, but Spiritual for the HEAL and RCH is so tempting, especially when that means Hail of Bullets will be up even more often! -
I don't know if I'd consider it a reason to shelve a newly created TIME/ Defender.
You still can level it, and when it's fixed be "Ah yeah, I got buffed!" Sure, it's more of a fix, but saying you got buffed feels better.
-
Does the ACC/Mez HO increase the slow effect?
With the recharge bonuses I do have, I have it two slotted with lvl 50 ACC/END IOs.
I'm wondering if I should take away one of those, keep it one slotted with an ACC/END IO, relying on that ACC, Tactics and the +34% ACC I have in set bonuses, as I could make use of that slot elsewhere. -
Quote:Legacy and Legendary went quickI'm amazed that you didn't get a single name off your list within the first hour. I had arranged to go in late on the day Freedom went live but the delays forced me to head into work before they came up and I didn't get home to try for a single name until they'd probably been up for a good couple hours. I didn't get everything I wanted - to be sure - but I had a pretty good batting average considering. And I don't think my name desires were terribly obscure - I wouldn't have been surprised to have found 90% of them taken before I could get to the computer. I guess I really did get lucky. I really am sorry that you didn't.

I like that there's something different on both sides. And this is one of those differences.
Almost all the Patron Pools havea corresponding APP theme...
Soul can easily be replaced by Dark. Mu by Electric. Leviathan by Ice. And Mace...well you get an Arachnos Mace, why would you get access to that? What if you avoid all Arachnos missions (it is possible).
Patron Powers tend to have a unique power in them worth having (the shields alone are worth having imo, as they're concept friending no matter which you go with).
...
That all said, I'm suggested before...
Sidekick Power Pool, pick a Freedom Phalanx Member to sidekick to, and get a shiney permanent gold title that says "[Insert Freedom Phalanx Member's Name Here]'s Sidekick" as a reward. -
-
Quote:If they did that, I'd say give it the same resist numbers as Resilience, not so low as 5%...which just seems...well not much, all because a certain power pool works well with a powerset (kinda like how KIN works so well with Trollers Fire Epic)So while I actually agree that Farsight should have gotten some resistance (like 5% or something) to prevent the current Power Boost combination from doing what it's doing, I think you should be clearer when you keep posting about it.
I'd say 10-15% to three damage types (S/L/P or S/L/T would still be my pick on that...S/L as it just seems like the resistance a Time Manip would have and Psi or Toxic because messing with time makes their mind harder to mess with OR Toxic because you're slowing down the toxic effects on your body by manipulating time) like the other Defender Powers that while they offer less Defense, do offer stealth. -
As a fan of Supergirl before the reboot, I have to ask...why was it good? I can't make it the comic shop for another two weeks! I have bills! And the comic shop is over 60miles away! Have you seen the price of gas?!
Enough of that rant, why was it good? What was different? Will I like the art? Or is it as bad I fear? Because Supergirl just didn't look like the Supergirl I loved to read about. -
Quote:I know it sucks...but they're giving warning and they're doing it for a server upgrade. Who doesn't want a server upgrade?A day spread out over multiple days, all in the prime time of a particular customer group. It's not a case of 'Oh it's down for an hour I'll watch Dr Who' it's a case of 'It's down today, oh well maybe tomorrow. Oh wait it's down tomorrow too, maybe I should cancel my subscription since they did the same thing last week."
Really, I don't see the problem with missing a couple of days if that's your prime time playing time (and I say this as someone's who's work scheldule means I tend to login during those down times for a couple of hours, so I'm missing out as well, so this isn't me saying it as someone who gets to go "Hahaha...I was at work anyways")
Now if they wanted to give some compensation like whatever...I wouldn't complain. But as someone who loses out on game time due to this (my work schedule really is that suckie) I don't feel it's needed.
Now if it was every day for a week straight...maybe...but it hasn't been that at all. And the worst of it was when i21 hit *sigh* My one day off a week and I had to wait...and wait...and wait... -
What thing you can do, that a supergroup member did with an alt of theirs...white on white chat bubbles.

Quote:Yeah, was gonna ask what Dues mentioned. Purely from a numbers perspective (mind you this isn't a big deal...I mean I rolled a DP/TIME...according to most I was shooting my self in the foot picking DPI'm still trying to decide what to roll for my first *live* TM character. I tested my brains out on TM, so I have the luxury of backing off a bit and deciding what I actually want to play, not what would be good to test. Energy/Time did cross my mind as a "what if" on my main.
But to be honest, I'm currently trying to decide between:
- Gravity/Time controller. Love the concept. Gravity, time - PhysicsGirl would probably be interesting. Not the most powerful combo, but definitely ... swirly.
- Bots/Time mastermind. Another concept combo, but it has the significant disadvantage that I'll probably fall asleep while playing it. That would probably be ludicrous to solo.
- Sonic/Time corruptor. Probably an awesome soloing combo, without quite the somnolence of bots. Speaking of overpowered, I still have no idea what anyone was thinking when they gave squishies Siren's Song. You might as well practically give blasters Elude.
- Electric/Time controller. Honestly, I have no concept for this. The idea popped into my head, and it just seemed so weird it had a certain charm to it.
), why not go Time/Sonic Defender?
Sonic Blast is suppossed to be better on Defenders, and Time/ on Defenders is of course better than on Corrs (hmmm...I have this name on virtue that could go perfectly with Time/Sonic, and I've rerolled her 5 times already not enjoying any sonic combos with her so far, this could be the one to go with. :O ) -
Quote:No reason to miss it!I haven't bothered to check since beta, but as far as I know everything in Time Crawl stacks, including the -regen. Ditto Time Stop.
About the only thing wrong with Time Manipulation is its called a manipulation set but I can't make a blaster with it. I'm not generally in favor of powerset respec, but I'd pay real money to swap my En/En's secondary for Time Manipulation. I would miss total focus, but I would write it a really nice goodbye letter.
Power Mastery keeps the option for Total Focus open! So reroll to Energy/Time or Time/Energy! -
Quote:Wait...wait...does TC stack or not? I've been under the impression that the -Regen of TC doesnt stack.I was going to refute the assertion that TMs heals are weaker than comparable ones and it has virtually no -regen and its numbers don't compare to Rad, but it occurs to me we need people who believe this to increase the likelihood the devs don't change their minds about the set.
All I know is my Ill/Rad can average, with her recharge, something in the neighborhood of -650% regen by partially stacking LR. The numbers I get for single target stack of -regen on TM is about -550%. When the problem is that its a hair under Rad and can't quite get to Traps, those are problems I can live with. In the meantime I predict Farsight will be the next Radiation Infection, where people basically needed videos of Rads going to sleep inside the cloud to demonstrate what the strength of the power actually was. And farsight has none of the weaknesses of Radiation Infection. -
Quote:You say gather? I just get in the biggest group of the team and cast it when I feel ready tooNot to mention, isn't Time Manipulation a rather busy set? FF is pretty simple and straight forward: cast bubbles, stand by squishy and play.
With Time, do you not have to make sure to call your team so that everyone is in range of the +def? Then you're casting a ST debuff that makes your other debuffs better, then casting a ST buff that makes your buffs better, then heals and more buffs/debuffs...
I figure, that bubbler will be tagging along behind your time, shooting stuff and keeping you from getting mezzed while your time is busy trying to 'outclass' him, ultimately making *their* job easier (is that possible?) but your job more tedious?
To the OP...FF is less busy, comes with Mez Protection, and offers more Defense to the team than a Time Manip user does (DB + Bubbles = More Defense). I think this goes along with using PBU along with Farsight, but even if not true, that shouldn't be the case, as not every Time Manip user is going to use Power Mastery or Soul Mastery (I'm using PBU right now, but as soon as I get red side, Im switching to Leviathan Mastery myself).
Time Manip is also a "Want to take all powers now set."
Plenty of reasons to consider rolling a FFer, besides Concept. -
It gets the added DoT to put it as more damage. That's about it.
So like your example, instead of a debuff it gets 10 more pts of damage (or whatever it really is number wise). -
I'd actually be happy with the character list just telling me which powersets I chose on the character.

Quote:I remember when it was an even lower limit.I'm pretty sure they gave up on the concept of SGs since Global Channels are much more convinient anyway but for old time's sake let's asume I like mine. A game that allows you to have 48 characters on one server only allows 150 SG members? That is utterly insane. We have concent that requires three full teams now, a decent guild in other games moves around 500 alts to shoulder this. Why is that limit still in place? I could fill the whole SG with just three players, it's insane.
-
Quote:I'd say it raised eyebrows, with people calling for nerfs to Farsight or buffs that stop PBU to work with Farsight. On the sliding scale this game provides I don't think its possible to call anything overpowered. There is simply no standard. When it "it can soft cap to all positions on SOs" doesn't even raise eyebrows it's kind of a shrug what can you really say situation. So how about giving Force Field those self cast shields?
I was actually okay with the adding of resists to Farsight if it was more than 5% to all or a few types. Like a decent amount as per Shadow Fall and the like. -

Quote:For solo play there's no choice about it. Go Reactive. What Defenders need more of in solo play is damage, and Reactive gives you that.I am a Dark Blast / Empathy / Power Defender and I was wondering what I should get for the Interface incarnate power?
For team play, pick what you like and go
