Quote:GG was being sarcastic. The Devs have proven time and time again that they do listen to us, and if possible, they will do as asked.
So your comment regarding that they don't listen to our feedback is nonsense.
It isn't the place, so it did deserve it. Come on, man, do we have to have a complaint in every thread? Can't at least one be positive? It really does reek of ingratitude. -
You've just made a whole lotta people happy. This is excellent.

Quote:Given the recent volume of posts in which you've attempted to push your ideas, I beg to differ. You seem to not even grasp the discussion. this isnt about me trying to enforce my RP on anyone at all. Never was, never will be.
But mostly I just laugh. There are few topics on which the whole of the forums can be united. I salute you, sir, for adding another. -
I can't believe I kept skipping over these DV threads. I hope they don't disappear tomorrow, they are amazing.
DV, do you understand the concept of 'consent-based RP'? What you're seeing here is people not consenting to your RP. And you can't do a thing about it. -
Marksmen will run away. I don't know if they use the Longbow Eagles self-fear or if they just have different AI programming, but they try to maintain maximum distance and will not ever close to melee. It gets frustrating to fight them sometimes, particularly when you're on a melee AT that tries to exploit AI simplicity to get them all to group around you.

Are you actually saying it's not your fault you slotted a defense debuff HO into a defense buff power?
-
Quote:Actually that's not true. 5 super packs are worth way more than any of the other repeatables, both for people who like consumables and for people who don't like consumables but like what's in the packs.Personally I was hoping they'd give us more like 8 packs per token since that's more or less what the other T9 repeatable rewards are 'worth'.

I've never seen a midway park simply sell stuffed elephants. You always have to pay out money to play the (sometimes rigged) game to get the toy, and sometimes you end up paying out a lot more than the toy is worth.
Sure, you can go to a store or online and buy that toy directly if you want to, but within the miniature universe of the midway, that option doesn't exist. -

April 28th, is it? My birthday is that week. Could be a fun thing.

Quote:Now that's more like it.You admit to being a guy and you *want* women to shower you with attention? Clearly you are a mindless attention-seeker and have nothing interesting to contribute to the topic. You're probably unattractive in RL and desperately try to make up for it by getting attention from easily impressed 13-year-old females online. Men like you completely ruin my game experience.
What side do you pick more than others?
Blue, but only because it's easier for grouping and fast-track leveling. When I want to play around and enjoy story arcs, I go redside.
What play style do you prefer?
Even split between Brutes and Scrappers. I'll play other ATs here and there (love my Crab and MM) but most new characters I make are melee of some kind.
What power set(s) do you favor?
I generally try to avoid repeating powersets or playing favorites. That said: TITAN. WEAPONS.
What zones do you like the most?
For some reason, I always tend to think of Sharkhead Isle as home. I don't even know why; it's the dingiest and least attractive of all the Rogue Isle city zones. But when I'm redside it's the zone I gravitate to most often. Blueside I like Founders Falls; because of the central canal it seems to have more character than most zones.
Do you usually play as a male or female (word of hatred) ''toon''?
Male characters predominantly. I tend to see my characters as idealized representations of myself, so it's hard to feel comfortable with female chars. Plus, every time I try to make a female character, I always go in with the intent to make her fanservicey (using the old "if I'm going to be staring at a butt I want it to be a nice one" logic) but I always get way too embarrassed about it. I only recently succeeded at making a female character I like to look at but isn't whorrible.
Views on Role Playing?
I used to be a heavy RPer years ago. These days I don't have the energy for it, but I do still like working out character backgrounds and personalities, and in general I find RPers to be the most pleasant sort of people to hang out with, though the risk of drama queens is high.

I refuse to participate in this thread until some female posters come in to make sexist comments about us. Me, preferably.

Quote:Given that the Obama administration has recently come out against the bill as it currently stands, if that were true before it probably isn't now.But no, it doesn't stop there. One of things found in the Cablegate dump on WikiLeaks was the Obama administration has been threatening every other country in the world with harsh trade sanctions if they don't pass compatible legislation by the end of this year.

I can't remember offhand what the actual percentages are, but as a formula that looks correct, with one exception: You either need a set of parentheses that encompasses both the market cuts:
EARNINGS = SALE_PRICE - ((SALE_PRICE * .1) + (LIST_PRICE * .05))
Or change the + to -:
EARNINGS = SALE_PRICE - (SALE_PRICE * .1) - (LIST_PRICE * .05)
Right now what you have will add the list price cut to your earnings instead of subtracting. -
Quote:I'm really baffled at this. The gamble comes from paying real life money for the chance at the items. It has nothing to do with your personal desire for the items.
If I spend an A-merit on 5 random recipes hoping to get a recipe that normally costs 2 A-merits, that's a gamble.
If I spend $10 on a new powerset, that's not a gamble.
It seems like it's just the fact that it costs real money that offends you. That's your prerogative, but that doesn't determine whether something is gambling or not. -
No, it's called a discussion with differing opinions.Quote:
The real life money you pay for the chance at any of the hundreds of items is the gamble. Its actually not that hard to recognize this fact unless you have alternative motives.
Quote:I used rebelrouser(a non word) on purpose as part of the humor in this absurd situation. -
Quote:If you purchase a pack desiring nothing but, say, the Scrapper proc ATO or a costume piece, then sure, it's gambling, because you might not get what you're expecting to get.Definitions like to bet on an uncertain outcome from stupidly liberal Merriam Webster and her bunch of leftist rebelrousers...I see.
If, however, you purchase a pack expecting to get some random interesting/useful things with maybe one or two really neat items, then it's not gambling, because a pack will deliver every time, even if you don't want or need everything in the pack.
Probability is funny like that. It depends a great deal on knowledge and intention even when the actual action goes unchanged.
Also you have no business referencing a dictionary when you don't get rabblerouser right. -
The forums have always been a hotbed of anger and bitterness which is almost never actually reflected in the game itself.
It's true for most games, really. Forums are generally made up of people who are discontent and opinionated enough to want to talk about the game rather than just play it. -
Given that heroes and villains each have their own contacts and story arcs in DA, it's not exactly a co-op zone so much as a single zone where all the action is.
