Gaming on an LCD
Thanks to BillzBubba for taking the plunge with one and everyone who helped him with it.

Unfortunately this link looks dead

Looks like the thread is gone. (or my search-fu is just weak this morning). -
Hmmph...I'll have to look into that.
Here's a couple other tests:

Drive Fitness Test (DFT) to check your harddrive.
And Prime95 to check your CPU.

clear your cache, close your browser(s), open a new one and try again. That /should/ work.

*sigh*
Let's see if I can lay this thing to rest.
At I5 - and now again with ED - some claim that the game is "dying" and that thousands of players are leaving. This isn't true. We're actually gaining customers. Not hundreds of thousands, but we're gaining nevertheless.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's arrogant and snarky comments like this that makes me wonder why I play this game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not really snarky, especially if you take it IN CONTEXT. Nice try though.
[ QUOTE ]
My gray friends list and gray SG list say otherwise. And yes you may be gaining customers, but they are CoV customers, not CoH customers. Last night when I looked it was about 80% on CoV and 20% CoH on Infinity. CoH is dying. You've got more customers because of CoV, because CoV is new content. My friends list on CoH is gray because you could not retain those customers, because you nerfed them to the point that they left, rather than spending those resources to add new content to CoH.
[/ QUOTE ]
I get constant blind invites in both CoH and CoV. My friends list varies from all grey to 1/2 lit. Ummm...how can you tell what % is playing which game? CoH is definitely not dying. My friends list is grey because people have real lives, play multiple MMORPGS, found CoH too easy, etc. Don't know anyone who quit because of a nerf, let alone because of ED which for my toons turned out to be a good thing.
[ QUOTE ]
After hearing about issue 5 and ED, I thought hard about cancelling, but I didn't because I guessed, correctly, that CoV would be "free" monthly after purchase, and that CoV would be a bunch of new content. So that is what I am playing now.
[/ QUOTE ]
Didn't we know that CoV was not going to have an additional monthly charge before ED really hit? Plus States said a number of times that was what he was pushing for. I'm playing CoV now because it is new and have new characters that need to be leveled.
[ QUOTE ]
But as far as CoH is concerned... what is new? Everything added to CoH since I've started playing 10 months ago has been a nerf save Croatoa. And by the time Croatoa hit, I was way past that and couldn't do any of it's content except for the TF.
[/ QUOTE ]
Woah. It sounds like you need to take a break from CoH (and maybe CoV), man, if that's all you can see as being added in the past 10 months. Nuff said.
[ QUOTE ]
I have a level 50 regen scrapper that needs YET ANOTHER respec, and I'm finding that I just don't care. Too many large changes in too short a time has left me tired of trying to figure it out. Part of the fun of CoH was building the character, learning about it's powers as you go, and using respecs to "tweak" things as you learn. But now we are using respecs to try to salvage things. And yeah, they are free respecs, but you don't have all the playtime experience to guide you since nothing works like it did before.
[/ QUOTE ]
If there's no end game content then why do you need to respec your toon until there is? Hmmm...since I started playing most things seem to work the same or better. Attacks still do damage. Defense still protect. Heals still do their thing. Since ED my attacks are now more accurate and either cost lest end or come back faster. From game play experience I know what my powers do. From reading the ED notes I know not to slot any power with more then 3 of any one type of enh. I put those two together, add in a little forum reading, and then slot my toons as seems to make the most sense to me.
Change is an integral part of MMORPGs be they buffs, nerfs, additions, whatever. This is my first MMO and I came into it know this. If I ever stop having fun, I'll take a break. If that doesn't help I'll quit. Seems like common sense to me. -
O_o
People are still going on about this even after repeated counter examples which include some from Statesman? Geeeeesh, that's sad. Let. It. Go. -

Brutes have an inherent taunt on their attack powers but it's only single target and affects the target you're attacking. Brutes can slot their attack powers so they have a greater taunt effect on them.
The Tanker's Gauntlet inherent ability effects nearby enemies instead of just 1 target but up to a maximum of 5 enemies.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to cry foul to much but doesn't that make the much weaker inherent power that tanks get already even more pathetic when compaired to everyone else's?

Brutes get Fury.
SMASH!! -
I still use the old CoH Prima guide for DO and SO enhancement names and the maps for store locations (mainly for which origin is where). Yes, I know I could use Vidiot Maps, but I'm stuborn.

Wow...great job on compiling and organizing all that info Visceral!!

I remember starting a Bubbler on Guardian around the time of the Halloween event. One of the big-scarecrow-things (can't remember what they were called) was heading towards Ms. Liberty and probably a lot of people not ready to deal with. I was only lvl 5 or so at the time. I threw out an Power Bolt and then brought up PPF. Got him all the way to the Steel Canyon (iirc) entrance before someone was around who could take him down. Good timing, too, since I had run out of repites.

Still here...been busy with visitors this week. Plus - we've got E3 around the corner and, of course, City of Villains (though I'm not saying anything other than "this year" for a time estimate).
And I've been working some on the Arena (playtesting) and even Issue 5 stuff. Oh - and whatever comes AFTER City of Villains. Wouldn't you like to know that?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, I'd rather like to know when things that're obviously not working in the game right now are going to be addressed.

Los pasos:
1. Vaya.
2. Caza.
3. Matanza Skuls -
You mean I have to play a game of Go before I Hunt. Kill Skuls? Geeesh, I don't have that kind of time!
-
According to this guide on CoHVault it is -33% Res (and dmg).

It's entirely possible that I missed the order the stun and explode happended in, though I didn't notice the stun until after the explostion. Ah, well. It was funny either way.

By the way, RI seems to keep the Vahz's embalmed cadavers/abominations from exploding. Not sure why, but it does.
[/ QUOTE ]
Had a funny, but deadly experience with this today. Walked up to a group of Vahz saw an Embalmed in the group. Somehow, though, I missed the Murk. So, I figured I'd put RI on the Embalmed Anchor, hit the Embalmed every once and a while just in case, and just kill everying else first starting with the Morts. No prob, right? So, I hop in after setting up RI and notice a dark effect on me. I shrug, switch targets and start wailing on the Murk and get him to about 1/2 health. Just about this time there's an explosion and I realize I'd been neglecting something...the Embalmed Anchor...it blew up. I blink for a couple, slightly surprised, and then try and cast RI again. Can't. Can't move either. I got stunned by the Murk and/or blast. Then I was dead suddenly.
Not sure how the Embalmed Anchor blew himself up, but it was quite a shock when he did.

Best. Guide. Ever.
So, I'm a little biased as a Rad/Rad and Dark/Elec defender.
