I was under the impression that ONLY tanks have gauntlet, brutes have fury. As far as I understand the only taunt factor in brute attacks is the damage that you do which has no more aggro than any other damage being done. Which means if another player out damages your attacks the aggro is passed to that player.

Bu8t if you are right Max, it does explain why AVs and Heroes turn to team mates in a long fight and why taunt is he only way to get their attention back.

Umm brutes have gauntlet? Methinks not. Taunt is the only way to keep attention fixed on the "tank" in a COV team.

I had a 50 def on US a year ago, stopped for WoW, came back when WoW ruled my life. The others are in those 2 months.

Really? No Healing aggro? For some reason I get hit at when not doing anything other than healing in groups.

Having a played a priest on WoW for over a year I was very familliar with the aggro generation factors governing healing in that game. I have given healing people a nice break (almost 2 months playing CoH now) and started a mind/emp controller. At first I thought YEAH, no healing aggro! But a I progressed I soon realised that this is not the case.

The question is: has anyone documented the factors governing healing aggro in CoH? Can someone please post a link to it if it has? If there isnt, can you guys please post tips on how healing aggro is managed or generated?

Well, lets take valkyrie fight for example: I was pumping her with all 5 energy attacks, including endurance drain and she still turned around and made for the nearest squishy after 20 seconds or so, without taunt, that squishy would have been eating sidewalk.

There is definately a place for it and certainly needed at higher levels.

If I can give a good piece of advice here: found out that taunt on a brute 45+ is a good idea.

I have used it a LOT since I picked it up on 47 with heroes and EBs. Many times in a fight with a hero they head off to pound someone who is doing a lot of dmg, one taunt and they come running back.

Great power to have at a level where heroes in missions is common place.

Not a tank? I have taunt on mine, in PS mode you can be a tank and a very good one.

Dump all the patrons, they are totally useless to you.

I regularly spam coalition chat channel with "47 brute LFT" or "anyone need a 47 brute". I do this every night and have been doing it since lvl 22. Got one team in 2 weeks that way.

Something is wrong with this game, or its just me. No one seems to want to team. If I call up a list of characters lvl 41-50 and send them tells, they are either soloing or PVPing or dont have a spot. Very frustrating, hence this post.

47 brute or 39 dom seeks regular team and SF teaming, will mal down if needed. Pretty tired of seeing the inside of a Warburg warehouse.

Union warburg zone down? I cannot log any of my characters in Warburg. Is it just me?

I can log chars anywhere else.

Mind/psy

Used to do relentless missions and villainous for mayhem solo.
Discovered that at 33 or so story arcs are impossible solo due to high number of EBs even on villainous.

Now grinding warburg missions at relentless solo. Each mission takes 16 minutes.

Well I must be a real bad player, every single EB after I hit 30 was impossible to solo. Using over 8 blues to keep going and still failing really depressed me, hence soloing warburg missions to lvl.

To illustrate the difference: my em/elec brute does a SC mission in 6 minutes, my dom at that lvl did it in 14.

My Brute goes from 29-30 in 2 hours in SC, my dom did the same in 5.

Killing speed is definately the issue.
