I beg your pardon sir! I consider my methods very sound when it comes to "testing"
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh, I didn't question your methods, QA did.
[ QUOTE ]
That was only one example!!!
I spent THREE (3) hours testing that on many different enemies!
I came to you guys for answers, ideas, and help..not to get [censored] at by YOU on how I test!!!
This post was meant to open discussion on the faultiness of a power, not to INSULT or QUESTION intellegence.

Striker, unsure why this one too was directed at me?
The thread you posted did peak my interest, I think defiance is done broke, and I thought what you posted seemed sound, which I why I PM'd cuppa, who then e-mailed QA and I posted the response that QA sent back to Cuppa which was sent back to me.
I questioned nothing, only stated the obvious from the response from QA, that THEY clearly do not agree that you've tested it correctly.
If you still feel slighted by this thread and feel this is a personal afront to your testing skills, then e-mail a dev and try and continue the discussion.
I was trying to help, but I guess you didn't see it that way.
My sig should state my view of Defiance -

Clearly, QA does not consider them sound -

PM'd Cuppa w/ this thread. As I said to her, I can live with defiance, but think it needs to be looked at given that some folks seem to get the boost when at 100% health, and some seem to get no boost when at very low hp. Probably way too many irons in the fire right now with I7 prep, but she did tell me that it was sent to QA, so we'll see.

Response from QA....
"Defiance is working fine as far as Ive tested. Compared to 100% health and 1 hp, there is an extremely significant distance. I tested at various amounts of health between there and saw the benefit. I also tested using the exact same mob the OP mentions, and saw the difference. There is a damage cap in percentage, though, so if the player was using enough buffs and enhancements to get near the cap, and then used defiance, there would be less of an effect. Also, red con mobs have a higher resistance than even con mobs. I would question that players testing, considering others chimed in on the thread on how well the power works." -
I never much liked the movie, now the arcade game, played the crap out of that thing.
Light cycle for the win!!! -

Well, States is "happy with defiance", which means he must be happy with the crapperific bugginess of the inherent.
Fix it please -

Or maybe add a bar so we can see how close we are to getting the badge? it was definitely no fun going for this badge.

To all those that posted their wishes for a progress bar for the presents, HeroStats worked for this purpose. The presents were considered "villains" that you defeated. I opened the villains defeated window, and alt-tabbed back every now and then. Made the hunting a little less monotonous. So next time, save yourself the wond'ring -
Well, no PVP experience here with them, but they were a bread and butter power for me as an ar/dev probably up into the high 20's.
As others have said, most enemies won't attack near as much but try and get free of the caltrops instead, allowing you more time to arrest.
Throw them down at a corner or doorway, attack for pull, duck around corner or doorway. Wait for the enemies to bunch up in a pack, then use a cone attack or aoe now that they are tightly packed at the corner.
Also used to throw them straight down as it would deter melee's from getting too close most of the time.
I would also throw them down as a desperation move if I got into trouble and had some enemies forcing me to retreat, caltrops would often buy me the time to rest for a minute and get healthy again.
All in all for PVE, I couldn't even count how many times those little shinies saved my buttIt's a shame slotting damages never really helped though, it completely ruined my "Caltops Man" concept

Some great stuff in here, just got my AR/DEV up to 33 lastnight, have had trip mine for a while and it's been serving me very well. Lastnight took out my first freak boss without ever pulling the trigger on the rifle

I agree, it should be fixed, but wait! It's now become a right of passage, like getting teased in school, everyone must die in the gulch on the way to a mission, it's only fair!
At least they could give a badge for it!
Depending on the server give a shout out for a taxi-bot and I bet somebody can help you out. Taxi-bots park at Hollows due to this problem but it depends on your server if you have any bots. -

Yes, snow for Christmas please. Yes, an abomidable snowman to fight. And snowball as a damage temporary power that can target other heroes!
Let the fight begin! -
Three questions for the StatesMAN
1. Are you looking at status protection for blasters?
2. Are you looking at changing DEVICES at all?
3. What's your favorite ice-cream flavor?
