  1. Yeah. I do not think the vast majority of the posters are feeling me. i am a 42 month Vet. I did not arrive in the cities yesterday. I understand what you are saying about diminishing returns. I am saying, there is no feasible way for anyone to get one toon fully tricked out with purples and PvP enhancers unless they 1) farm all day every day for a year. (farm, not play) 2) buy in game cash from china illegally.

So, the Devs have set up this situation. the Devs need to fix it. Most people want to spend 3-6 months on one toon, and have something way cool to show for it. if the Devs do not get that then they need to have a serious conference style think tank day.
  2. I believe that they are going for 40-45 of the new merits. correct? Call it 40. So that is 80+ days of gaming for 1 enhancer. and 16 months for a set of 6. a little over that if it is 45 per. Yeah, they fixed it. Woo hoo. everybody throw a party. The Devs fixed it, yeah. ROFLMAO.

If they didnt want them in the game, they should not have made them. if they do want them in the game, they should be available to a regular gamer. on a difficult, not impossible, scale to get. Otherwise they irritate consumers. which is such the intelligent market strategy.
  3. I frankly do not care if they are specifically PvGod enhancers. There is no underlying logic in the world that justifies 2 billion per enhancer in this game economy. They can fix it or shove it as far as I am concerned.
  4. I set up a build this weekend while away from the game. I logged in this morning to price the build. Many of the enhancers I were looking at were 2 billion PER ENHANCER. Do the developers really think that people want to play a game that only full time farmers get stuff in? I have 42 months in this game, most of my toons are SO'd, and one, ONE, has a couple billion in it. These things are selling for 2 bill each, so, let me think, I would need to game about 20 years at my current rate to get one toon filled with these things.

Do the developers really believe this is what makes for a happy gaming community? I think I am gonna log for a month or two. I can workout, play music, do art, but I'll be damned if I sit and farm for 3 months to afford like 3 of the things that I figure i'll need 18 of.
  5. I have been playing a while, coming up on my 42 month vet badge. Maybe 25% of that time has been in 50th level stuff. I alt a lot. I have gotten maybe 2-3 purp recipes in that time. It is seriously stupid how little these things drop, and how much they are on the BM. I do not even want to start with PvP recipes. i just wrote a new build for my main over the weekend, logged in to the BM, and realized it would cost about 10 billion to make it happen. seriously, 10 billion MORE. This on top of the few billion I already have invested in this one character. The devs need to figure out how to solve this, or they are seriously gonna lose gamers. No one wants to play a game so obviously rigged to favor one particular type of player.

I took 2 years of calculus. college level. ended with multi variable calculus using linear algebra to solve systems of diff equations. I am lost by what you guys are saying. Not because I could not, given time, decipher all of the posts. Because your argument and writing style makes it tedious, boring, and deathly tiresome. The lack of clarity, the depending on previous posts for logic, the bickering, the childishness. Ich, let the damn post die. please. and, p.s., a cursory read shows the important aspects, SS and Claws both do okay. choose your weapons and enjoy.

Not to pick nits, but I am a natural nitpicker. So, here goes. Your algebra looks passably sound. Unfortunately, without decipering the last two pages of posts for values for your variables I am unable to decipher your meaning. I give crap about this argument, cause I know my cheesy SS/Fire/Mu farms okay, and either is really good or the best, and I do not care which.

However, since you seem to really care about your academics I offer this. You are no doubt clever and working hard and assimilating the knowledge you are reviewing. If you want to clearly communicate this information and make a difference to the people you are talking to speak clearly, start slowly, define everything, and then run the numbers and post the conclusion. Otherwise the only person who will ever understand you is the other econ geek standing next to you and your company will think you are useless.

    Splitting hairs

Thanks ultrawatt. although i think i have titled the post correctly, it truly is splitting hairs, especially for this build. I will take those slots and hunt elsewhere for improved performance. For end recovery on this build i lean heavily on Dark Consumption.
  9. I am really not good with Procs/globals. As I understand it, if I slot a Gausian's "Chance for Build Up" in Invulnerabilty "Invincibilty" toggle, the Proc will fire constantly as long as the toggle is active and will constantly give the +acc/+dam buff?

So, does anybody know? Anything. No, specifically, does anybody know if it is more advantageous to put ( SETUP situation ) in a build where fitness stamina and health are both single slotted, and both have 1 SO in them, to enhance REC, is it better to 1) Slot one more SO in Stamina or 2) slot a Miracle REC in Healing?
  11. There was an OP? How about Kinetic Melee / Stone armor lol. You keep knocking your opponents away, and cannot get to them. Life can be so cruel.
  12. Dark dominators. Other than "my desk is filled" and "fudge off, i'm having coffee" Is there any reason the DEVs have not made this wonderfully themtic pairing? Hardly take any work too, really.

Hmm, you said specifically post i19. Yet you say you are leaving out the fitness pool. Do you know that once i19 hits all new characters automatically get all 4 fitness powers? They get them at level 2. Or are you saying you are going to start the guy in i18, and never respec him to get the auto fitness, as a challenge?

No amount of spinning the semantics is going to change the fact that to say you like something is to claim a value to it that is purely subjective. That's exactly what an opinion is.

It's still hilarious to claim otherwise.

Seriously though, watch the video. Even a kids show can explain it.

Or just google it, or take an English class, whatever works.

Just because you can say "It is a fact that I like ice cream" (and that in its entirety is a fact) doesn't change that "I like ice cream" is an opinion. Words like "like" "think" "feel" "appreciate" "prefer" all signal an opinion.

    Sure it's ambigious sometimes.
Statement of Opinion: I love how ridiculous it is to claim otherwise.
Statement of Fact: It is ridiculous to claim otherwise.
    Hold on. Back up.

I said "In my opinion, Ice cream is too sweet." Indeed, that is an opinion. However, further, I said exactly "In my opinion, Ice cream is too sweet, and that is a fact." It is indeed a fact that I know what my opinion is, and that I stated it. The only basis you have for telling me that statement is not a fact is if you are calling me a liar. Call me a liar, and you will have only thought you were in a flame war before.

Take it from a guy with a high level dark armor tank, 12 points. 8 points is = 4 points most of the time. so, either stick with 4 points or invest in 12, but 8 is pretty much a waste.

    EASY.
    You have a wonderful imagination.

    SS Hand Clap

I was thinking the same thing about SR maybe being the only one to benefit. Hmmm, i haven't run an SR before. + I am gonna have to really think how to justify SS on a SR. Maybe a freaky defense robot thing? I'll keep at it lol.

    SS Hand Clap

Nobody takes it, do they? 50% of my higher level brutes, and over 50% of my 50 Brutes, have SS as their primary. i took it on one build once, dropped it. I was looking at the worst Brute thread, and started thinking, I should roll up a SS with the concept of leaning on Hand Clap. Any thoughts out there? Any secondaries that Hand Clap benefits? Cause Invulnerability and Willpower are not gonna be assisted by knocking mobs away.
  20. I love Dark Melee, and have it on my main, a DM/Invul, as well as a few wild experiment builds like DM/FA, DM/DA, etc. I have never tried SR though.

Good Luck, and welcome to the joys of SMASH!!!
  21. I have found on low level brutes (because seriously, the armors/defenses on brutes pre-20 bite) that I just take and slot attacks (and slot them mostly for end red), take healing powers, and grind thru to 20. The game pre 20 is a totally different game than post 20. After 20 certain armor types really start to shine against certain attackers. And post 40, it all changes again, because in any kind of major run you either need the perfect armors, or great buffs/heals to make it.
  22. trying to get Invulnerabilty to protect you from Psi is a tar baby. In My Opinion. If you plan on fighting Psi, there are numerous options for Invulnerability. 1) team with Defenders/Corruptors who buff/heal you. 2) eat purps and oranges. 3) get the ritki accolade power 4) load your butt with Purple enhancers and other rech enhancers to pump your Dull Pain so that it is up a lot. (My solution is 4, but I run Dark/Invul, so it makes even more sense for me here) 5) don't tank the Psi critters, scrapper lock onto a smaller mob and don't be the hero against people that aim for your achilles heal.

If you go through convolutions to try to get your Invul armor to protect you from Psi, you are passing by so many (easy) opportunities to make a good truck into a monster truck, in order to change a truck into a tractor. You bought a truck, drive the truck. You want something else, start with something else. Dark armor can (with the kind of money you seem to be throwing around in your build) be turned into a monster against Psi, and just about everything else. It has an entirely different feel than invulnerability, and without tons of cash is not much. However, properly I/O'd Dark armor is insanely good. Invulnerabilty is incredibly good at almost everything but PSi, with a little love it is insanely good at everything but Psi. And to get Psi protection on it you have to basically gimp every shortcut powergamers use to make Invul awesome. But, it's your buildout. Having fun is everything. I still shake my head at people that build Tanks to do damage, sacrificing everything for that. I just keep looking at Brutes, back at the Tank, then at the Brute, then at the Tank. So confused.
  23. Build up is worth it. Seriously, do some research. I hate how short it is too, but it way improves your damage per second.

exactly right. The attacks count, thankfully they do not have to land. Also, your attacks pump it a little, and AVs do something weird to allow your rage to get better against them, although during a recent LRSF my Fury never seemed to get over 80%, so that just seems stupid. But yeah, Attacks against you are all you need, even if they all miss. GL.

If you mean the farming, kinda boring after you get over the amazement at the killing power of the build. But the cash is endlessly good.
