Aaaaaahhhhh
Jack shot up, what was that noise? He gazed around the room, trying to gather his surroundings. Where was he? He wasnt sure. All he did know was that he had never seen anything like this. He wiped his face, smearing sweat over his cheeks. The room was dark, cold and chambers all over the walls. He walked across the metal floor, nearly slipping on goodness knows what. He peered into one of the chambers to discover a dead chimpanzee.
What the hell is this place? Jack murmured to himself, Hello! Is there anybody there? No answer. He wandered around the room looking for a way out. Suddenly from the corner of his eye, Jack saw something move. He ducked behind a table and started to tremble, uncontrollably. In front of him, he could see a door. But what if that thing saw him, what would happen to him? Come on Jack, you can do it. He prepared himself for the escape; he began to slowly move himself into position.
Bolting through the door, Jack turned around to see what the thing was, but he could see nothing. That didnt stop him running though. While running, Jack caught sight of more rooms with chambers, fearful of what might be in them, he began to up the pace. He darted around a corner and found himself in a control room of some sort. He closed the door behind him. What the hell am I going to do?
A dozen computers filled half the room, most of which were destroyed. Jack sat himself down by a laptop. Upon the screen was writing: If you are reading this then there may still be hope. At the back of the room there is a door. Go through it, salvation is there. Jack was confused; did someone know he was there? Had the person who wrote this been trapped here as well? While pondering over these questions, Jack heard something else, louder this time. It sent chills up and down his spine.
Nooooo aaaahhhhhhhh!
Jack knew he had to get out. He legged it to the back of the room and found the door he was hoping for. He tried to open it but it was locked. [Censored] He tried barging the door, but nothing worked. He took a couple of steps back and threw his leg at it, with enormous determination. The door collapsed and Jack jumped through. What he saw next was not what he expected.
Weve been expecting you Jack. Jack fell down with fear, his legs buckled. The room was populated with what seemed like hounds, but they couldnt be hounds, they were standing on two legs, as if human, and they talked! Dont worry Jack, it wont hurt. They all stepped forward, as a unit, and the front hound slowly pulled out a butchers knife from his sheath. Get away from me! Get the [censored] away from me! Jack suddenly got the courage to get up, he went back through the door and ran, ran as fast as he could. Looking back, he could see the hounds were following him, but not in a hurry, as if taunting him. He just kept running, trying to get as far away from those monsters as he could.
Jack seemed to be running in circles, he kept seeing the same rooms, the same corridors. He didnt give up hope though. Nearly out of breath he hid himself in one of the rooms. Jack, dont worry, it will all be fine. The hounds had found him, Jack just stood there, not knowing what to do. The hounds surrounded Jack; the lead hound picking him up by his throat. He stabbed Jack in the chest. Jack dropped to the floor; his eyes wide open, blood pouring from his chest.
Experiment XC34990 terminated at 19:47. The council scientist took a deep breath and sat down, coffee in one hand, documents in the other. Call the chief, I think that the War-Wolfs are ready for battle. -

hey guys I have been playing for some time now and want to experience something really worthwhile and good to solo with. Will do with any archetype apart from spines. These can be any combination of powers, I just want to hear some suggestions. So please put some builds down or just tell me some good ATs to pick. Help me please!
-
Wow I can get into teams really easily and I have a lvl 40 healer. One time I went on and looked at the screen and had 5 tells telling me if I wanted to join their team. I hadn't even moved!! my healer is still lvl 40 after about 2 months. I can get teams easily. A hint for the future put into your search bar "Pure emapthy looking for team!! Need team will heal for xp!!!! INVITE ME!!!!!" that worked for me
-
cheers everyone for the feedback and I have now given up on the tanker and decided to get into scrappers. Great damage and you can solo without too much end probs
-
Mine is simply "My nova sense is tingling..." simple but effective =]
-
yeh there all good points. Really if your in team before lvl 20 and getting annoyed with end just hold back and do occasional moves such as charged bolts. use the small moves so your endurance will stay up longer and you wont have to keep saying "need end!"
-
Ok thanks for that guide got a lvl 10 stone / stone tanker now (Close Call.) and he is doiong very well. Rooted has come in handy and would very much recomend getting this power I believe that I will go down the non-Granite
path as I wish to have a challenge and also have defense and resistence to everything! -
Oh god I am so stupid
cheers for that mate and great guide btw thankyou! Off to play my stone / stone tanker

I don't wanna sound noobish but what do the numbers mean are they what level you put on the inspiration slots?? -
Yeh I have started the tanker and I believe that I have a pretty good idea of what I could do. Thnakyou for the guides they were usful!
-
that seems all good but you have got the last power wrong lol should be lvl 50 not 49
-
So do you think that a tanker should have all 9 armour moves? I didn't think it was needed.
-
thankyou guys as I said it wasnt actually my tanker it was someone elses. The feedback is good and I just want to say thankyou for actually taking the time to read it and hope you liked it really. I kinda didn't mention the respec thing afterwards. What I would do is respec rock armour out of the way and then get everything else and don't worry about crystal or brimstone armour but it really depends on what you wanna do. Thanks for the positive feedback.

I've taken on some bosses with EA that other Stalkers would probably think twice about going up against, because I know even if he hits me with his best attack right off the bat, then with my shields up I'm most likely going to survive.

Yeh well I got it and kept dying even when slotted maybe this is because of my gameplay bit it sucked! -
Ok guys here it goes. This is my first guide and may not be that good. I have been playing the game for about 4 months now and have been playing along with my friend named Stoned Marine. He has a stone / stone tanker. I was looknig at the weaknesses and strengths of what he had got and it seemed pretty balanced. This is my guide:
Primary Powers:
OK so you would think you want all of these to be the ultimate tanker. WRONG! You only actually need 6 of the 9.
Rock Armour: This is what you should start off with and it has good resistence. It will be respeced out later on when you get granite armour. GET THIS POWER!
Stone Skin: Great move. Auto so no endurance loss. Good resistence may slot with 3 damage resistence.
Earth's Embrace: The only self heal power you get. This is a must have!
Mud Pots: A good taunt power also causing damage over time. This is a good early power to get.
Rooted: A very good pwoer to get early on. Resistence to hold, disorient, knockback, immobilisation, and sleep. May cost a bit f endurance at lower levels but will be sorted out later.
Brimstone Armour: This takes up endurance and gives you resistence to fire and cold damage. Not really worth getting. My friend did not get this and proved he did not need it.
Crystal Armour: Again takes up endurance. Do not bother getting this move. Only looks cool really
Mineral Armour: This is a must have as it gives resistence against Psionics which Granite Armour does not. GET THIS POWER!
Granite Armour: This is the power all stone tankers would die over. Gives resistence to all apart from Psionics, but minerals sorts that out. This power however cannot be used with other armour moves (Rock Brimstone and Crystal Armour).
Secondary Powers:
Ok then this is wear the damage comes in. These moves are very good and will need most of them.
Stone Fists: This is the power that you have to have gives good damage and has a moderate recharge. Great for low levels.
Stone Mallet: This is high damage and is also good for low levels. GET THIS POWER!
Taunt: This is obviously self explanitary. Taunts the enemy but do not need this power until higher levels.
Heavy Stone Mallet: Superior damage! Anything more to say??
Fault: This is basically a "foot stomp". Great way to start the battle and can disorient enemies.
Build Up: +damage and +accuracy good move to get only at higher levels though.
Hurl Boulder: Great move must have. Who doesn't like ripping boulders from the ground and chucking them at people??
Tremor: This is also like fault but much better and more effective. You will want this as soon as possible!
Seismic Smash: Melee attack and great damage another must have!
Those are all the powers that a stone / stone tanker can get but there is also the power pools.
Stamina is always a must have. Gives you nice endurance recovery and will keep you tanking for ages!
The travel power will really depend on what you want to do. You could get aything really, but what I recomend is Super Jump. You can get acrobatics at level 20 and gives you resistence to hold, disorient, immobilisation and sleep. It really depends on your style of play.
Epic Power Pools become available at level 41 and give your character a sense of uniqueness. Many characters choose not to have these and go for more power pools, but these can come in handy. I believe that tankers should all follow the Earth mastery path. It gives holds and sleeps which can aid a tanker to easily perform taunts and keep the enemy away from his team mates.
Here is what I believe should be the order in which you get the powers:
lvl 1 Rock Armour
lvl 1 Stone Fist
lvl 2 Stone Skin
lvl 4 Earth's Embrace
lvl 6 (travel power depends...)
lvl 8 Mud Pots
lvl 10 Rooted
lvl 12 (fitness power set) hurdle or swift
lvl 14 (the travel power)
lvl 16 (fitness power set) health
lvl 18 Stone Mallet
lvl 20 (fitness power set)stamina
lvl 22 Fault
lvl 24 Heavy Stone Mallet
lvl 26 Mineral Armour
lvl 28 Hurl Boulder
lvl 30 Taunt
lvl 32 Granite Armour
lvl 35 Tremor
lvl 38 Seismic Smash
lvl 41 (Stone Mastery Epic Power Pool) Stone Cages
lvl 44 Fossilize
lvl 47 (medicine power pool) Aid Other
lvl 50 (medicine power pool) Aid Self
Please send me feedback on whether or not you think this is a good guide. Many thanks to Stoned Marine for helping me make this guide and giving me advice on it.
Goodbye for now...
