And I can't believe this hasn't been stated yet, but this option was also widely used to create perma-bridges for PL farms in Peregrine and Grandville, but that was before the MA was introduced. Now no one cares about those perma 46s since MA can auto SK everyone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can't believe it either. Mostly because Local Man covered it in the 4th reply.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah. Sorry, missed that last line.

But I really don't see it being used that way any more as he implied. Most PLers are in MA now. No travel worries. Tons of farms to choose from (if you can sort through all those pesky story driven arcs ). And no worry about needing bridges.

If there are still perma-46s I doubt they're getting paid for their services any more.

    Because people asked for it.

Some people don't like to outlevel content, like storyarcs or badge missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. Content is a large part of the game for people. When the Devs created a way to go past more and more content quicker, it was added so that people who didn't want to do that could limit themselves to not do so.

It gives no bonus, other than the extra content completed...

    [/ QUOTE ]

... unless you count the Merits you're rewarded for all of the arcs you're able to complete with XP turned off.

Scott Calvin... was on the drawing board to be returned

[/ QUOTE ]Eh? The storyline of the Calvin Scott TF was that Mr. Scott believed Sister Psyche's presence in Aurora Borealis' mind (His wife) was harmful, so he recruited heroes to separate them. SP and AB were sparated in I4.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, that's why it would have to be in Ouroboros, because you're going back in time to experience something that has already happened.

The Rikti Comm Officer farms were the MEOW farms. The name caught on because the majority of those farms used a cat girl contact and you had to save a bunch of cat girls as one of the mission objectives. The original mission created may have been called MEOW also but this is unconfirmed.

[/ QUOTE ]This is incorrect. The name caught on because the first (or one of the first) had "meow" in each of the required text fields (and nothing in any of the non-required text fields).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Copies of the original mission did not though, yet they were still called MEOW farms. And I stated that the original mission was called MEOW but had been unconfirmed. Did you actually play in that mission? Can you confirm that it was actually called that or is this hearsay?

  6. Unfortunately no. Sorry.

    Maybe at the next convention?

  7. Villainside I'd have to say Stalker. People got used to the Stalkers being overall unenjoyable to play with on teams because their sustainable damage was so low and their burst damage created a tendency to constantly look for places to Hide. They have since been buffed so that they don't depend on the burst damage or Hide as much, but they still haven't recovered from the bad rep they previously gained.

Heroside I would have to say Tanker. Though there are players who love to tank a lot of players seem to want more action than playing the meat shield. Tankers are actually a lot more versatile than most players give them credit though.

    # of Coalitions?

I would say the wiki needs an update then.

    Edit: Updated.

  9. Blackavaar

    # of Coalitions?

Are you sure? I just checked two of my SGs coalitions last night and they each had nine. And these are large SGs. If there was room for more I would think our leaders would have invited someone else.

  10. Blackavaar

    # of Coalitions?

You can have up to nine coalitions for a SG. Including your SG that would make a total coalition of ten. The number in the wiki is therefor accurate.

I wouldn't mind seeing the SK (aka PL) system done away with entirely. Your friend has a lower level toon who wants to play with you? Fantastic. Pull out YOUR lower level toon and play then. What's that? You don't have any lower level toons cause you PL'ed them all? Then you and your friend can roll a couple of new chars to play together. It's not that hard to just do it the way MMO players have done it for years before the SK (PL) system. (Unless of course your focus is not on playing with your friend, but on PLing your friend.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Imagine you have every slot on every server filled with characters of varying levels (which I do). You want to introduce your friend to the game and he decides to build a character on a server where your lowest character is 20. The SK/Exemp system allows you to play with him. Without it you would have to tell him, sorry, gotta level on your own til you get near my level.

Yeah, this is why I quit playing WoW. If they made that the only option here I'd probably quit playing this game too.

    Luckily that would never happen.

  12. The Rikti Comm Officer farms were the MEOW farms. The name caught on because the majority of those farms used a cat girl contact and you had to save a bunch of cat girls as one of the mission objectives. The original mission created may have been called MEOW also but this is unconfirmed.

    Amy's Ward

Yep. This happened to me yesterday in RWZ and then later on the Posi TF with two different characters. Amy kicked our butts and then ran around the missions like a maniac. I filed a /bug also.

    Can't decide...

An Archery/Trick Arrow Defender is surprisingly easy to solo. Since you've already tried the tank before, go with the Defender (or should I say Offender?). You will most assuredly be pleasantly surprised at the survivability of the build.

Edit: Glue Arrow > Acid Arrow > Oil Slick Arrow > Blazing Arrow = Win!

  15. I still think it would better (and easier) to just add some simple text bearing signs, but anything would be preferable to players getting lost trying to leave the place.

Yes, I know we want people to explore, but we don't need them to get lost while doing so.

Note again: I have no problem with this. I know how easy it is to remember which door is which.

My concern is for SG and team members who so easily get lost and spend far too much time just trying to get out of that place. I can explain to them which way to go every time this happens, but it should not be necessary for me to do so.

  16. Interesting idea, but couldn't you just use the Safeguard badges to denote your favored zone?

Badges like King's Righteousness, Freedom's Defender, Talos' Might and Founders' Protector seem like lovely monikers to represent such devotion.

And while your idea for Zone Day Jobs seems nice, wouldn't that kind of make the Patrol Day Job pointless?

And btw, Kings Row doesn't have an apostrophe.

There is only one style. Widows don't have options. Just the one, and it's the same one available to everyone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's odd, because it appears my Widow has access to two different styles of Widow Claws. Both have a tintable and a non-tintable version. Do I have a benefit that no one else does?

  18. [ QUOTE ]
"Because Arachnos weapons are limited to VEATs only"...

But the "Widow Blades" ARE available to other ATs.

Scrappers and Stalkers both can utilize the widow's claw graphics at any point.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, but only one of their styles is available to them.

  19. Because Arachnos weapons are limited to VEATs only and the only way to do that was to make them exclusive of any other weapons for those ATs. At the current time there appears to be no other way to do it without inadvertently making the Arachnos weapons available to all.

I too would like more customization with my VEATs, but it seems there are some hurdles the devs need to jump before they will be able to allow it.

Bucky, do you care to actually address any of the problems you simply brush off? I don't think you quite grasp how big of a problem these issues that you so callously ignore or brush off are. The dev team doesn't have infinite resources. They've got to focus on specific things. They're not going to devote the resources required to create an entirely new, elaborate system like the one you want because it's just not worth it. Vehicles wouldn't do anything that the current travel powers don't already do and would require a large amount of work for what amounts to only a cosmetic change.

The game can't even do half of what you're suggesting it can (2 and 3). The "can't run on water" problem would cause vehicles to simply disappear as soon as you step in water and that still does nothing to counter the arguments that most of the doors in the game can't even be reached by roads and other ground vehicles friendly paths. Vertical movement is just too important. As to you combat suggestion, the game can't do that either. How are they going to give it hit points if it's a power? You want them to create a completely different mechanic for powers with hit points? That's a horrible use of resources when the game is just fine without them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

are you on the dev team? if not remember that this thread is in the suggestions and ideas section. So if you are not going to add to the idea/suggestion then buzz off. Because this thread is not in the "I'm Happy with the Game how it is and want no further progress section" How do ideas and suggestions progress to being in the game? By us voicing our opinions of what we'd like. And by the dev team pushing themselves to make this game ever increasingly better. Let the dev team decide for themselves what is worth it and what isn't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just so you know, yes, this is Suggestions and Ideas. It's in the Fun section and is not a direct way to tout your ideas to the dev team. In here players (who have heard this idea countless times) can read your suggestions and give you pointers as to how to flesh it out better, how to make it something that would work within the current game design and why it simply may not be cost effective or straight out won't work with our current game engine.

In many of the previous threads on this subject we have gotten dev responses explaining why these things are simply not possible. That is what the players above are telling you. Don't tell them to go away because player support of your suggestion is what is most likely to get it looked at by the devs. Suggestion > Feedback > Comprehend Reasoning > Reconstruct or Abandon Suggestion. That's the way it goes.

The idea, while it would be nice, is just a pie in the sky sort of idea that will likely never be possible in this game. Sorry.

And for your WoW comments, remember Blizzard has a development team about 100 times the size of Paragon Studios and their advertising shows that they have plenty of money to throw around.

  21. No, but I have from time to time seen them do some other kind of animation (one being similar to the stance you linked) in place of the costume change emote.

    Skull Mask

    [ QUOTE ]
Detail 1 as retrieved from: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat....ue#Post13349424

    [/ QUOTE ]

I had a similar idea for a character but when I went to look for the Skull Mask (yes, I checked Detail 1 up and down) it wasn't there.

I don't think females have access to the Skull Mask, a little trade off for having access to that kool Bolero with fur which Male and Huge models don't get.

Edit: You can always use the Skull small mask (looks great with the Bonehead face) or the Skull face in it's place.
