This has always been the least entertaining event to me. When it first was released it was cool to form a mixed team to see how the different ATs worked together. The novelty of doing co-op missions wore off long ago when the RWZ entered the game.
As the 2009 Halloween and Winter events were slightly modified I was hoping that this event might also be slightly modified. Unfortunately for me this is not the case. The badge-hunter in me cringes to realize that not even one new badge was added to the event.
Nice to see that an event is happening. and it sounds like some folks are looking forward to it. For me, it is just another reminder that the last significant content to be added to the game was almost four months ago and new content in Q2 2010 probably means June 2010. -

Quote:Careful there Ocho - server transfers, while free for a bit longer, have severe in game consequences regarding Super Group membership.no victory server? i would love to take part in this but i dont have any toons on the other servers worth playing (or that i like to play).
There are still free server transfers! Honestly we'd like to play on every server, but these were the ones that came out of the hat this time. -theOcho
Just pointing this out before someone accidentally transfers out of their group and is unable to get back into it....
PS: Triumph got left out - not cool! -

Just broke through the 600 barrier on my brute Doomsday Chicken last night.
Badge that pushed me over the top - Weatherman and the gladiator that comes with it. I think I actually cheered when I completed the Destroy the Hero Statues mission...after running it 34 times! -
OMG!!!!
The Television is stuck on a channel showing an episode of The Hills!!!!
/em change channel to watch The Venture Bros. -
Wow....I was sure that after all that build up that something would be happening this weekend.
Color me wrong.... -
The Spring event should hit sometime in February/March.
However, I too am looking for some substantial news to hit this month. And by that I mean more news than just what the new Veteran reward will be.... -
Quote:I see two of these processes right now. I guess the next step is to go to Hijack This.Interesting. I got something similar to this last week, but I'm not sure it's the same thing. Mine was definitely installed by an Adobe scripting attack, and it did redirect my google searches.
In my case, I was able to identify three separate rundll processes that were being installed as autorun registry entries. They were doing something pretty fancy whereby, once started, they appeared to inject themselves as part of every running process on the PC. They would then proceed to periodically update the registry with their autorun entries from every running process. I had trouble killing the processes from either Task Manager or SysInternals' Process Explorer, but for some reason I was able to kill them the "taskkill /F" command. Killing the trojan processes would cause every running process to eventually crash (forcing me to reboot), as losing the connection to the trojan after whatever injection they were performing apparently made the processes very unhappy.
Ultimately I was able to remove the files by using a SysInternals tool "movefiles", which you can use to tell Windows to delete files during startup. I'm looking back in my command-line history, and I had these bogus files.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\notepad.dll
C:\DOCUME~1\<LoggedInUser>\ntload.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM~1\ntload.dll
I set these for delete on boot, then killed the running trojan processes. I may not have had to do this last kill, but the list of files to remove on boot is stored in the Windows registry, and I wanted to make sure that the trojans would not wipe references to themselves from the list.
Once I did these steps, my problem was solved.
If you do not have "rundll" images in your task list containing the DLL names listed above, you probably have a different invader, and my info above may not be of any help. Unfortunately, the Task Manager does not show enough of the command-line to know. I would say look and see if you have three or more rundll's in your "Image Name" column in the "Processes" tab of Task Manager. If you do, you might have the same problem as I did. Hijack This should be able to show enough of the command line to make it clear(er).
TY! -
Good info - working on this now, crossing my fingers I can get rid of this annoying virus.
TY to all for the info so far.... -
Yup, I got it. I have been unsuccessful trying to remove it.
McAfee, AdAware and SpyBot are not helping. Any advice? -
Quote:I totally read you post with Sir Alec Guinness narrating it in my head.depends on your definition of a price...you can increase the difficulty without any inf changing hands, but you may then run into a mission that has been too easy in the past and get smooshed by a small convention-sized mob of +6lvl enemies. surely defeat is a price?
i admit i'm using "a certain point of view" here, but it's not technically wrong. there are a few that are. and some that are just morally so. "you can level from 1-50 in the mission architect" being the most glaring offender.
but how about Going Rogue, eh? that looks like fun! -
Looking at my specs again (Dimension 8400) I have a P4 with HT technology.
TY for the info! -
<----- not too familiar with what I am about to ask
Could someone (nicely) help me understand what the differences are between a Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 Ghz CPU and a Intel Pentium 4 3.6Ghz CPU?
Is my CPU finally at the end of its lifespan? Can I still run software properly that has a minimum requirement of the Core 2 with my CPU?
Thanks in advance for the info and feedback - much appreciated! -
Quote:Doing that for year long content is good. Doing that for once a year content is bad.But some people do find them fun, so it makes sense for them to have as wide a range of content as possible.
Some people like PvP, and some people don't - so they have some PvP content, and some and non-PvP content.
Some people like crafting, and some people don't - so there's some crafting content, and some non crafting content.
They're just trying to make the content as attractive as possible to the widest range of players. -
Quote:Well, I guess the Marvel writers make good enough pitches to convince the Marvel editors that certain stories about obscure mutants need to be written. After a few iterations of this, new teams are born and new books are created.Just because there's tons of mutants all over the place doesn't mean you have to WRITE about them.
There's tons of ants all over the place, but ant literature is few and far between.
Or you just throw random, underused mutants into a book with Wolverine or Deadpool and watch the $$$$ roll in! -

Quote:Point # 3 makes point #4 difficult for the Marvel writers....The Marvel universe needs a reboot badly. But not on the epic level of fail that Ultimatum was. Yuck.
A Marvel crisis should accomplish the following IMO:
1. One origin for everyone. Only one origin.
2. Get rid of the hatred for superpowered beings and especially mutants. (I kind of have the same reactions that Superman did when he visited the Marvel Universe......he was horrified at the way Marvel heroes were treated by the populace. Actually.....the entire Justice League agreed that things were very wrong compared to the DCU.)
3. Give depowered mutants their powers back. Please?
4. Keep the X-titles to a minimum of 3. Maybe even less than that.
5. Remove the effects that Civil War had. It may be just me that feels this way, but it really was a waste of time.
6. Make the threat of Annihilation pale in comparison of that to the Marvel Crisis.
Any other ideas? -

20 of each? Nice! A few of the rarer redside ones (with market sales) are Verminous Victuals, Tuatha Furs and Synthetic Drug. You could make a small fortune selling those....
