It now has been stated. Positrons post makes it clearly a bug.

My frustration isn't directed at you, per se, but at the fact that fixing bugs should be pretty black & white: if it's a known bug, fix it. But there seems to be some stalling here. They are concerned that MM's would be too powerful if the enh's affected the upgraded powers. This seems intentional. Why test the fix at all if it's a genuine bug in the game?
  2. This concerns me because it has never been stated as to whether upgraded powers are supposed to be upgradeable or not; if these power ARE supposed to benefit from the enhancements in the pet power, then there should be no question that this should be fixed. If, however, these upgraded powers are stand-alone buffs, then either the upgrade power itself should take acc/tohit enh's, or their base chance of hitting/damage/etc needs to be upped significantly.
  3. It'd be kind of neat if Praetorian Blue Steel instead started taking that world's version of superdyne and became the leader of the Praetorian Earth's Trolls. We could call him "Green Skin".
  4. With all due respect to all you folks out there with top of th eline computers, I am currently unable to play the game with the graphics turned all the way up. I have a P3, 3Ghz, 1GB RAM, and a Geforce FX5200 graphics card. I "can" turn all the settings up, and the game looks beautiful, but then it's a slideshow. Perhaps optimize the game a bit more so it runs more smoothly so we can play it on the high setting, before upping the graphics load even more?

You know, I really hate this argument. You see, sometimes what the people want is NOT whats best for the game or the community as a whole. A great example of this is SoE's new plan to open a dedicated auction site for their game. While it seems like a good idea on paper, since its "what the players want", theres a darn good chance that not only could it damage the game itself (Such as actually encouraging spawn camping, farming, and territorial confrontations) but what do you thinks going to happen if the IRS decides they want a piece of the action?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok, let me rephrase... The devs' wants should be secondary to the FUN of the game. That FUN, is experienced by the players. Therefore, it is the players' FUN that is most important. Weakening in-game powers, abilities, and the overall play experience with constant nerfs in a crusade, where the devs have to answer to no one reflects very poorly on the development team. As a side note, meta-game additions, such as being able to buy levels, powers, enh's with real world money is a different issue alltogether.
  6. I agree. Don't you see, Statesman, that your 1-liners only anger the forum-goers? I think we deserve a bit more. If you're going to respond, respond; don't give us these little quips...

    1. Actually, we've tweaked SS in the past; the issues with SJ have slowly evolved over time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What are the "issues"? Why not remove the stealth component from SS in the arena? Maybe up the end cost of SJ in the arena. And for goodness' sake, remove the acc penalty in fly, or lower its end cost. The way things have panned out show what people WANT, which is all that matters. Your and the devs wants should be secondary to your customers; you are here to provide US with an entertainment outlet - not see you world brought to life. Maybe we, the players, want to be able to defeat scores of enemies easily. Why not make ahard mode where villains hit harder, or powers work less effectively, if that's what you want - then see which people opt for. Let's run a poll to see what changes the players want; afterall, those are the people the changes will affect. Have any of the devs even played a character all the way through to 50? I'd like to team with a dev and see how they think the game should be played. It's nice to know that we're paying you folks to tell us how to play.
  8. ***SPOILER WARNING***

Wasn't Invisible Falcon the first hero to be taken/used/cloned to make the Paragon Protectors?
  9. I thought Blue Steel is the head of Paragon City Police atm. I don't think he's "super" at all; just a very, very good cop
  10. I'm pretty sure that incarnate would be natural, as there's talk of Statesman "unlocking his true potential" or some sort of "mind over matter" type of thing going on there. He definitely wouldn't be technology, science, or mutant, so the only other 'plausible' origin would be magic. That doesn't seem logical, as magic has a different flavor in CoH. Btw, what origin would you classify Rularuu as? Natural? Thanks.

How can a super hero "lose" thier super powers?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Think Cabal from Marvel; stricken with an ilness or injury so severe that their super powers are needed just to keep them alive at alevel equal to a normal person. Or some heroes "expend" all their powers and lose them forever. Maybe some heroes were purely temp-power based (without knowing it). Still other heroes may have had their magic amulet or whatever destroyed. Maybe a hero got brain damage that caused them to lose the knowledge that gave them their powers. Maybe the breach of the dimensional barriers caused heroes who got their power from other dimensions to lose contact or something. There are comic book precedents for this type of loss of power, so it isn't completely unreasonable.
  12. I wholeheartedly agree with you! Leave the non-exploits as they were and move onto new stuff. You think hasten is too good? Make a power that does somethign similar, but better in some ways, worse in others. Give players options. AM is too good? Make a new powerset that does other things - some btter, some worse. Instead of hamstringing existing powersets, why not create new stuff to whet people's appetites. Make new power pools that maybe speed you up but also do other things. Make power pools that give status ranged attacks. I don't know... make more options, not fewer, crippled ones... Also implement a reroll system for players you have so-reduced in effectiveness.

    Kheldian changes

How about removing the damage debuffs for human and nova form, then upping the damage resist cap in dwarf form a little bit to compensate for the decreased hitpoints... Maybe lower the end cost of Dwarf attacks/powers, make the dwarf provoke auto-hit, or give it a slight HP regen increase...
  14. This will probably garner me a big flaming response, but here it goes, (and if this is already implemented, I apologize):

Use the datamining and other records to see how quickly different AT's and builds are leveling. Based upon this, and a lot of playtesting, adjust the necessary XP to level accordingly.

Thus, a defender soloing blues and whites would level at approximately the same pace as a scrapper soloing, say, whites and yellows, (just as an example).

Now I see how this could be circumvented by having a scrapper/blaster kill reds, oranges, etc, could level defenders really quickly, so some grouping adjustment for XP would have to be taken into account.

What I am getting at is making it so that all the AT's can level at a similar rate, while not removing one AT's penchant for soloing, (i.e. what strength of enemy they can successfully fight)

Go ahead... comment, criticize, but make a suggestion that is better, not just an attack!
  15. If I am going to lose all of my powers above the level I am exemplared to, as well as the bonus from my enhancements, etc, I want my debt if I am killed to equal that of a character of the level I am exemplared to... do that, and I'll be satisfied!
