Pretty sure the Panacea proc works the same way (+Health, +End), but I haven't personally tested it.
Ohh i forgot about Pancea. I'll totally have to try that!

With ED capped end mod slotting you only need 2 targets to completely refill your blue bar even discounting the Catch a Breath that you had to pop post nuke to get enough end to activate Power Sink.

Edit - also don't forget to include Burn Out in your plans. You can nuke, die, RotP, burnout, and nuke again.

Edit Edit - I just got the chills looking at mids. Sonic/Elec/Fire. Open with Sirens > Char on a boss > Shocking Grasp on that boss for lock down > Screech on any other boss that may be there > Amplify > Build up > Dreadful Wail. Anything that survives will be stunned or still asleep and Power Sink won't wake them up or unstun them.

/e starts planning his own Sonic/Elec/Fire/Burnout nuke monster.
I had factored in burnout, just for fun

I have thought about elec, but I've played it before. I'm not one to repeat often >.
That sounds insane btw! Thanks for the info, I'll probably be going with /mental. Just for the insane regen as well. I'm going for perma-hasten and psyche. This will be a blast :3

    A Crash Blaster.

So after playing around on my energy blaster, spamming nova whenever it was available. I really came to appreciate the standalone power of a crash nuke. They hit hard, and look fantastic. I've decided to create a blaster centered around the crash and burn play style. I'll light em' up, wipe em out, and if they get me. I have RoTP 5 slotted to hit them back with 800 points of damage

Now I'm debating between energy/fire as a primary, and dark/mental as a secondary. Energy would be simply for the awesomeness that is nova. Fire for the raw damage.

The toss up between dark and mental...well that's where i need some help.

I need to know if drain psyche will work well in counteracting the crash of say nova, or inferno? Like if i were to activate it before nuking would the -recovery be overpowered by the +recovery of drain psyche? If not, my only options would be /dark (for dark consumption) or Ageless (which i know can counteract a crash)

    * No sonic

Going for the character equivalent of a big bad battle cannon blasting away.

Kind of like when a fury fueled WM brute hits something, you can just feel the OOMPH!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
If you're looking for strictly damage your best bet would be fire blast; if thats the kind of "OOMF" you are into.

If you want physical oomf, go for energy blast. Some may say that it's not the best of the blast sets, but every attack has that "OOMF" factor. Specifically power burst, with the one hand animation. It literally feels like your arm is a cannon, and they are made of cardboard.

Aside from that, Nova is an awesome nuke. I was playing on a lady grey tf just yesterday. My strategy was slipping ahead of the group, SuperSpeeding right into the middle, and firing off my nova. At that instant everything but the bosses were dead, and flying to the far corners of the earth. One of my team mates asked "Who's got that impressive nuke?" my reply " :3 *raises hand* "

Nova sounds fantastic, its exactly what i would imagine a bomb to feel like. It sends bad guys flying, and makes you feel like a wrecking ball.

energy blast packs a punch when it comes to tossing your foes around and nova is the icing on the cake

I think i was one of the few people who actually enjoyed Defiance 1.0.

I kind of play on the edge, rarely healing myself, with the keep on truckin' kind of attitude. Defiance 1.0 made my life so much easier. It was like having free damage JUST for playing the way i do. It was fun :[

I'm not saying that the new defiance is bad, it's helpful. I'm just wondering if anyone else out there misses the old one.

What if instead of summoning PB versions of fluffies, what if they had a pet similar to Penny's? Summon seekers at location, like the power does now, and a pet on caster that pulses a heal and, to better suit PBs, +end. It would be great synergy with LF, compensating for the crash, as well as Bridging the Stygian Circle gap.

It could be something that benefits from recharge, like fluffies, by allowing more than one to be summoned, like you can with Fluffys, while retaining the burst damage from PSs explosion.

Basically, I don't like the Idea of PBs getting a Color swapped Fluffy. They really should have their own thing, but the idea of them summoning a second type of pet when using Seekers is one I can get behind.
I really like that idea. Personally, I'd accept fluffy-clones for peacebringers, but i think it could be done better.

One thing that makes 'shades incredible is that circle. It fills your endurance with three bodies, and fills your health with 2. That's the only real heal they have. Don't forget that eclipse also refills your endurance when activated.

So right there, in an instant a 'shade can turn god-mode and refill their endurance bar. Then, when they run out of steam, they can refill every 15 seconds or so with circle.

Peacebringers, get two heals, one of which isn't around very often (eBoost.) And on terms of endurance....they get conserve power which is nowhere near perma.

Having a pet that can grant you say...15% your endurance or even boost recovery would seriously help in terms of balancing the two different ATs (without copy/pasting abilities over.) This way peacebringers can be self reliant, and shades can make things that kill more baddies, and make more bodies, to fuel stygian circle.
  7. Although I support the polar lights option...has anyone thought of Seekers as a spinoff of Unchain essence, rather than EEs..

I mean it's used like high damage AoE burst attack. If i were to compare at all I'd say those two powers are much better in comparison.

With that in mind, it wouldn't be justified when comparing EEs and PS to support giving PB's their own lil' pets. (not that i wouldn't LOVE that)

    Name: Obsidian Atonement

In the beginning, a dark, immortal mother saw fit to leave her only child among the shadowy depths of Paragon City. As a parting gift, as well as a catalyst for his inevitable power, she stabbed an enchanted blade into his stomach and broke off its hilt. Throughout the child’s growth, the pain within turned him into a fierce killer fueled by an immense rage, though his noble nature kept him from being consumed and turning to a life of evil. In his teens, the superheroes of Paragon discovered his talents and recruited him, vowing that they’d see the cursed blade removed from the child’s body if he wished it.

Unknown to them all, the youth’s rage had developed an intelligence of its own after spending years mingling with the immortal blood that surrounded it. After a minor surgery, the young man was free from his affliction and fully capable of expelling the rage from his body. Unfortunately, the Rage would not surrender its newfound life so easily. The excreted entity happened to find its way to a Shadow Cyst and wrapped itself around a weakened Nictus. In that moment, an egregious bond was forged.

While the Nictus had no desire to bond with the Rage, it did not have the strength to completely fight its way free. Still, for the price of eternal captivity and servitude, the Nictus managed to keep its new host from using the powerful energy forms of its species. Over the years, the newborn creature pulled together the matter around itself to form a replica of a human form capable of passing unnoticed through the streets of Paragon. With a physical body intact, the dark being has become a twisted abomination of Human and Warshade, and it lives only for making its previous host pay for expelling it into the wretched realms of humankind.

Obsidian Atonement is not a hero, nor a villain. Its fighting is nothing more than practice. Its arrests are nothing more than coincidences. Any good deeds traced to this being are a lucky result of training against the ‘correct’ enemy. This being is capable of speaking and exhibiting emotion, though it rarely sees any point in either. Every cell it inhabits exists to one day crush his true enemy’s body into oblivion.
So, rage is a potential target for Obsidian...I like

My favorite personally is the third On terms of what i'd use for the character sketch. It's a toss up between #2 &3...leaning more towards 3

I love it! Thanks for the character bio by the way. It's a really interesting divert from the standard Kheldian backstory. Makes for a good attention getter/mystery.
  12. Just as a reference for you guys. I have about another five weeks of classes left, so finals are coming up.

I put up this thread now So i could get everything worked out and refined before i start diving into it, all the while preparing for my finals.

So it'll be a little while before I get the first couple issues actually finished.

Once i finish up sketches of your characters I'll send them via PM's to ensure they are accurately represented

As for Squid, his back story is that he's Stone (real name David Browne), who is a scientist that turned superhero from a lab accident. The specific occurance in which he turned kheldian isn't going to work with a believable story (in-game the bio states that it was an insane statesman, haha), so it will have to be altered a bit. Perhaps in destroying a lab at a council warehouse he was infected, or a sample he collected got absorbed somehow? He doesn't strike me as the type to purposely inject himself with it unless he knew it was completely safe.
Yeah. I remember reading that bio, rather comical lol. Either way, we can figure something out
  15. Thanks so much guys! There is an insane amount of potential here. With all of these unique and awesome Bios I'm already getting really attached to the characters. :3

@Diggaroo. That dual-host combination is awesome. Just like Shaman's "Starless Knight" I get that whole knows the value of life vibe. Although Starless' value is more focused on himself, Templar's is focused on others. These two could easily make a really powerful pairing, lots of good story here.

(No need to apologise by the way. I make typing errors all the timek.) *giggles*

@Stone. I figured you still wanted in I like the whole "Kheldian DNA" backstory for squid. oddly enough, i sort of envisioned squid to be that type of person. Aside from that, do you want any back story in terms of the hosts? Or a bit more of a static character?

@Fireheart. Your warshade's story sounds really enticing. Could I hear some more? On terms of your peacebringer, He'd be a great addition to the group. Even if he's not exactly Kheldian material, it doesn't mean that he can't help out his friends.

@Dechs. I'll have to take a read through your link a bit later considering that I don't have much time until my next class. >.< Aside from that, I see a lot of potential here. If Teven is fueling his nictus, who is fighting the demon's control...i wonder what would happen if he ever became weakened during combat and the demon took over for a while...*hint hint*

Thanks so much everyone for the info!

  18. I'm going to quote with @Display name, just to make this SO much easier for me

@Memphis Bill: Wow. Absolutely love it, all of it. It was a great read; just enough to leave me wanting more. I already have a really good sense of Voidbane, and Violet.

@Steel_Shaman: Great bio! I'm getting that whole "Knows the value of life" vibe from Starless Knight.

    @THB:
I was kind of hoping you would go in that direction I still need an antagonist, Reqiuem is just to small scale for my scope of the plot. I could use someone to fill a "Brutal Overlord" role. interested?

Otherwise, please, do tell me exactly what sort of information you'd like to know about them so I can provide you with all the info you need
They'll totally stay in character, that's the whole point of this ^_^
    • Who's the Peacebringer and who is the 'Shade?
    • Are your two Kheldians related in any way? Are the hosts siblings or friends? Are the Kheldian's themselves related but the hosts aren't?
    • Are they from any real-world place? or just kind of "showed up."
    • How did they become Kheldians?
    • What are their intentions and, if possibly, personalities like?

Any of that general info would be helpful. If you want i could use the costume designs from your youtube videos of Truth and Judgment.

Aside from that, if you have an in-game bio you could PM me that or post it here. If not, just a simple statement about how you envision your Kheldians would do.

***If you wanted to...I could make them both the same character. A sort of "split Kheldian personality" type of thing. Both Kheldian's conflicting over the same host. Also, once i generate some ideas and sketches I'll send them to you for an overview to ensure they're in character**
  20. Hello my fellow Kheldians! You might be wondering why you're here...so i might as well tell you!

With the end of my college semester coming up fast I've been drumming up ideas to help increase the skills I've been developing towards my major; Animation.

First, an animator MUST be a good story teller, and artist alike. So to develop both of these skills further I've decided to write a story over the summer months about my Peacebringer concept, named Se'At, and his fight against the Evil nictus that plague our Kheldian Race. From this story, I'm hoping to develop my own illustrated comic about him and his struggles.

Now, how does this involve you, my fellow Kheldians? Well, aside from my own Kheldian characters (Dividing the Dark, Speedy Avenger, and Se'At), there are many awesome and creative Kheldian players out there (that's you guys) with their own back stories and persona's. If I'm going to tell & illustrate a story about Kheldians, I'd absolutely love to involve you guys, the players, and your experiences with Kheldians.

Yes; I could just generate my own characters and write the story myself, but that doesn't develop my skills outside of my own little world. You guys, the players, represent a future client. In that sense, It will be my job to represent Kheldians the way WE want them to be represented, rather than solely how I see them.

If any of you are interested in being included in my little project, I would greatly appreciate some information about your characters. Who was your character before they became a Kheldian? How did they get their Kheldian abilities? What do they look like (a pic of their costume, if not I'll imagine one based on what information you give me.) How do you play your Kheldian, Are you a stealthy warshade, or an in-your-face behemoth? What are your intentions as a Kheldian, world domination, defeating the nictus, saving kittens?

For you role-players out there, what kind of personality does your Kheldian have; are you a sarcastic wise ***, or an emotionless harbinger of destruction?

Any of this information is useful and would be greatly appreciated.

If you choose to have your character/s included, all credits will be given through the use of board display names, or however you see fit. You guys are the boss of the characters here, not me

(This is solely for developing my skills as an artist and a storyteller. It will not be sold/copyrighted/ect...ect | also, No trademarks of Paragon Studios will be claimed as my own either, credit will be displayed where it is due.)

Thanks for reading guys! I look forward to your feedback!

    ~"Speedy"~

    This sounds fantastic!

Aside from that, I can vouch for the outstanding survivability of nrg/dark. I have a blaster that runs nrg/nrg/soul. The level of control from Oppressive gloom, stacked with the stun abilities of energy can keep my blaster alive in mobs of yellows-oranges solo. Everything is either stunned or dead from nrg's powerful melee (that's great considering I'm only using punch, total focus, and bone smasher.) That alone is enough to keep my squishy blaster doing what he does best

On a brute, tank, or scrapper....the survivability would increase drastically.
