Seems to work for me, and line up with Arcana's examples. What part of it isn't working for you? You're putting in the As and Bs from her list and then hitting Refresh, like it says to, right?
Oh, and also you aren't blocking Javascript?
[/ QUOTE ]
I get the page, input the values, and get the same blank white space.
I was blocking java, but I unblocked, restarted, tried again, and got the same results -- white space.
I'm runninng IE7 not Firefox, so maybe that's the issue. -

Arcanaville, thanks for all that information.
Would it be possible to see what one of these curves actually looks like as an example? It would certainly help me. -
To answer a few questions:
You get respec or merits, not both. You get a drop box at the end and have to make a choice. This is also what happens in Hammy raids, STF and RSF -- you chose HO or merits.
I understand that the 3 hour timer is not there anymore. But you have a 24 hour diminishing return penalty on any single TF. Meaning that if you run the same TF back to back, or even the same one every night at the same time, you will be subject to diminishing returns. I do not know what the exact diminishing return is. I don't think anyone has tested that significantly.
I personally don't have a problem with most of the merit value assigned to the different TFs as the 5 min=1 merit metric seems fair enough to me. Multiplying the merits times 12 should give you the average time the devs datamined and those figures seem fairly accurate to me from the times I've done the different TFs.
The one exception I would make would be STF/RSF as many of the speed runs are accomplished by having nukes and shivans, but the time to collect those is not included in the datamine.
Finally, I am also somewhat to blame for the the low rewards on some of the TFs. I run with a fast crowd that frequesntly does 10 min Edens, 15 min treespecs, 30 minute ITFs, and 20 minute Katies.
I agree with TopDoc that the devs should "fix" the fast TFs by adding requirements that the average team does anyway.
I also think that as the availability of pool C recipes dry up, the price will go up in response to the reduced demand and that this will make picking a random drop worth 25 merits. -
Miladys Knight made a shield scrapper and leveled him up from 1 to 26 running his contact's arcs and amassed 86 merits in about 10 days of play. No TFs/Trials/GMs at all.

What about Rikti Raids?
[/ QUOTE ]
Rikti raids still give vanguard merits but not "new" merits.
[ QUOTE ]
You get bonus Merits (I think 20) for completing or the Respec. That gives 45 Merits which should add up to your Pool D.
That's my understanding from the group that ran a Hero Respec.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think that is the case anymore. We ran a hero respec after the 10/31 patch and only got 25 merits total. -

Basic Telepad
Clockwork Winder, Temporal Sands, Simple Chemical, Psionic Manifestation
Alchemical Silver, Symbol, Inert Gas, Black Blood of the Earth
Ruby, Destiny, Silver, Hamidon Goo
[/ QUOTE ]
Crap on a cracker. And here I was the one who was giving the devs the benefit of the doubt to NOT MAKE THE TELEPAD REQUIRE HAMI GOO!!!
Grr.
Criminy sakes...the new base costs are enough to make me wanna rebuild the base to recoup costs. Thinkthinkthink...if I expand the size of the base from 8x12 to 12x16, assuming that would recover the prestige for the 8x12 plot size...make a new secure teleport bay in the new space, move all my present telepads there (and not waste frickin' valuable salvage rebuilding 8 arcane teleporters!)...
[/ QUOTE ]
Those are 3 seperate ways to make a telepad. Don't like the one that uses goo or alchemical silver? No problem. Go with Clockwork Winder, Temporal Sands, Simple Chemical, Psionic Manifestation.
And yes, people in closed beta have already complained about some of their component requirements. So please let your feelings be heard. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from trying to change the proposal, just pointing out each item has 3 possible "recipes." -
I would like another look at confuse.
I don't like it as it is now. It won't kill me, it won't stop me from moving, and it really doesn't make me target my friends (unless they hit me with confuse the instant I click an attack, or I WANT to hit my friend).
All it does is make me unable to attack anything other than my friends and allies for a long time (30ish seconds is a long time in PvP). That doesn't seem like confusion to me. It's more of turning me into a traitor. -
Please guys, hurry up and at least put something on test.
It's getting to the point where people (like me) are not logging on. After a period of time of not logging on, it becomes hard to justify paying for a game that you no longer play. It's one thing if a new issue is right around the corner and quite another if it's several months away.
I appreciate that you all are working hard to provide great content. But please, hurry. -
With the announced 'Player Created Missions' tech on it's way, I am hopeful that we might be able to make PvP missions in the PvP zones, or perhaps even in the co-op zones.
I think I would make a maze with two entrances -- one for hero, one for villains. The mazes would be a gauntlet of NPC foes, including red crystals and high perception critters like rikti drones to slow down the stealthy.
Both maze entrances would lead to a central location with a hostage. And both mazes would also have a rez station within the mission, probably back by the starting entrance. At this point, I get torn in two different directions.
Part of me would like to see the hostage act like a Warburg Scientist, following whoever takes control. Whoever gets the hostage to the end wins (a spin on the classic 'capture the flag' game).
Another part of me wants to have the villain tasked with defeating the NPC while the hero has to protect the NPC from the villain and any remaining NPCs. This mission would need a short timer. If the villain defeats the NPC before the expiration of the timer he wins, otherwise the hero wins. I think this would allow for an interesting variety of strategies. Taunts, caging, repel, heals, slows, as well as down and dirty damage spikes would all have a chance of turning the tide.
I think the first might be better for one on ones and the second for teams. -

Great idea, but the price is bit out of whack. $10 is simply too much for this.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agree. I always appreciate new stuff, but they price seems a bit steep for what can be obtained for free in the game.
I understand the need to keep credit card transactions above a certain amount so that you don't get pinched at the margins.
3 for $10 seems more in line with my internal pricing sense. -

I disagree with this policy, to a certain extent. While I understand that your company does not want to have a public debate regarding specific conduct that results in a disciplinary action, I believe that it would be helpful to me, and others in the community, to see exactly what discipline results from engaging in certain conduct.
For example, I have seen Lighthouse and Niviene lock certain threads with a brief statement of why. Those types of moderation help me understand how the forum rules are applied in a practical and real context.
But hey, it's still your playground and you get to make the rules. Nice job getting those polished up
[/ QUOTE ]
It's about keeping business and pleasure separate, Flea. We, as forum-goers, really don't need to know why various bits of disciplinary action take place, or whom they affect; if we follow the rules of the realm, we typically won't find ourselves in a position where we would need to. If threads are closed for reasons other than straightforward rules violations, the community reps often do post to tell us why, and that's a very courteous action on their part. But the back-end stuff like issuing warnings to people or banning them really isn't any of our concern.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree that there is no need to know. But I believe it would be helpful to both the community and NCSoft.
The community could see how the rules are enforced. It also acts as a warning, sort of like having a police car on the highway. Most people slow down when they see a police car giving someone else a ticket. Some law enforcement agencies have taken to parking empty police cars on highways because it is so effective at reducing speeding. -

Well, well . . . a hint of future goodies.
Clue 1 - The hint is in the Multi-media forums and directed at media fiends.
Clue 2 - "Something Wicked This Way Comes" is a lot of things a book, a movie, a line in Macbeth, and the name of a few music albums. "Wicked" is usually considered something to do with evil, but folks from the New England area use the word to connote something good. Is Ex from the New England area?
I'm guessing that demorecord is getting some love so that you masters can make better machinema. -

Peterpeter's article on the relative costs and benefits of IOs was fantastic and informative!
I'm looking forward to his next one. -
I think PvP is very much on their radar now. . . . for better or worse. Castle's and the other dev's ideas about how to make PvP more inclusive may alienate as many as it brings in.
We'll just have to wait and see.
Another perfect case study in "be careful what you wish for." -
I don't have a PvP brute. But that's what I heard. I have a friend who likes to PvP on his brute and he was loving the changes.
Fury built faster and held steady longer against players and higher ranked NPCs. -
Well, looks like they addressed some of the issues on this list:
Fury
Teleporting
Perma caging
Telekinesis bugs
Perception in O2 boost available to villains.
Those are the ones off the top of my head.
Yes, they made other changes as well.
Confuse
Acrobatics
I'd be interested in seeing a revised list.
