    Duck Melee

Duck melee is weak against AR and Beast Mastery.

    Have fun with that.
And you must name him Redraw McGraw and make him look like El Kabong!

  6. I used to thunk I knewd ya. Buts I ain'ts sure no more.
  7. And don't forget that in the bad old days of base building everything was HUGELY expensive. From the plot, to energy and control items, to rent.
  8. Yes, Lucas was his forum name and one of several global names.
  9. Many of you long-time players will remember Lucas. Lucas was one of the first friends I made when I first started playing years ago. He joined my SG and we co-founded the Nightmare Squad when CoV came out.

Lucas was funny, a great PvP'er, and had a flair for the dramatic. Maybe you've heard that "Kronos has a hold noob!"

I just learned that Lucas passed away yesterday. He had been treating an illness but it took a recent and sudden turn for the worse. He left a loving wife and two beautiful children.

Services will be held in Georgia on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Fox & Weeks - Island Chapel.

Although we never met in person, I knew him well. We spoke of work, and family, and music. He turned me on to Tool, for which I am immensely grateful.

Goodbye my friend. I miss you.
  10. I tend to think of -dam like a resistance shield and -tohit as a defense shield.

Darkest Night is 37.5 -damage (unenhanceable) and 18.75 -tohit (enhanceable). That power, by itself, is better than most melee armor sets until about level 25 or so when they have enough slots and enhancements in those slots. And it works against all positions and all damage types!
  11. *psionic sigh*

How did this thread turn into an anti-pvp rant?
  12. I think a melee set with a pet would be a nice change of pace. Would certainly be different.

    Though I want chain claws.
They can just shrink the Titan chain saw to six inches and paste three of them on each of your mitten hands!

I was joking, but I started thinking about it . . . AND NOW I WANT THEM TOO!

P.S. When I first saw Arcanaville's new title and avatar, I first thought that my computer's video was glitching. Then I thought Arcana had hacked the forums.

I was half right on my second thought. Does that make be a quarter right? Math is hard.

Congratulations (or perhaps condolences) for hitting 30K, Arcanaville.

Thanks for the years of explanations and the occasional mind-blowing.
  16. I think you missed some of the context. He likes getting his weekly SSA merit but he wanted to turn villain to get the Scorpion Shield patron power.

The portion you quoted is how Organica resolved his conflict without missing out on his weekly A-merit fix.

I have lost respect for goats based on this statement.

However, you gained respect for playing for so long on Vista and a 7950. Dedication.
  18. Look at invincibility. Maybe it is set for more than one critter in range?
  19. Yeah, energy torrent from the tanker epic pool is great. It does KD not KB and is a decent source of additional aoe damage, mitigation, and range.

Your blaster buddy ran into a spawn and got mezzed before he could nuke? No problem, torrent them all on their backs, then hop over as they are getting up and footstomp them on to the ground again!

And while I haven't purposefully used unstoppable in years, I do still have it as a set mule for 3 Impervium armors that get me a little more endurance and a little psi resist and defense. Is it needed? Nope. Is it the universal tragedy Hyperstrike makes it out to be? Nope. I think he was engaging in Hyper-Bole-Strike.
  20. New Zone would be the Preatorian Version of the Hive with a new and improved Hamidon Raid. The Zone would have critters from 40 - 54, new DE, including GM versions of the New DE. The story arc will introduce you to the Preatorian Ouroborus squad, which has time travel but is not based in some pocket dimension. Instead, it looks like it does in the 1st Mender Ramiel mission -- collapsed, run down, in the water, and surrounded by Hammy tentacles. The arc will hop through time, showing us the history of the struggle between Tyrant and Hamidon with a final mission that you take on a "weakened" Hamidon like in Lady Grey's TF. You can do it solo with NPC assistance or refuse help and either bring a team or take your chances alone.

Completing the TF will grant you access to Preatorian Ouro pillar of fire and ice so that players can run the Praetorian arcs, even with Primal characters.

I would add a matching villain - Praetorian TF in the 20 to 40 range that finishes the story of Calvin Scott and Provost Marchand on Praetorian side with the villains invading Praetoria.
  21. My suggestion is to stick some SOs in there right away, you can wing it but the suggestion of using Mids is a good one. You might need to do a respec to move some slots around. Then go talk to Mender Ramiel and do his arc. You should feel A LOT stronger after slotting.

Visit Wentworths or the Black Market and put some lowball bids in on generic IOs that pretty much match your SO slotting. You should feel a bit stronger after slotting generic IOs.

Then, after you feel a little more comfortable with Mid and the market, start planning a build using set IOs that will give your brute more . . . "oomph" I would suggest that a build that adds defense, recharge, and recovery is what you should shoot for.

Lots of people post builds on these forums and many are willing to critique them once posted. So look around for other regen builds (scrapper or brute should be fairly similar) or post a build yourself.

After getting a good set IO build and some incarnate powers you will feel truly godlike!

Good luck and welcome to 50!
