I have to agree with most of what cyber says on both the elec side and what i know of sonic and general CoX rules.

the point made about LF and SS is so true, with the rediculous single target damage u should be able to knock out it may be best to focus on cone sleep and ST point black range+melee, AFAIK KB alon won't wake a sleeping foe, so you shoul be ok to SS then either shockwave or LC. due to the lack of focus on AoE and PBAoE dmg in the set combo i would go LC over LF, SG wont help much until you go epic hold but may be a nice melee damage enhancer, although i always use holds for hold and nothing else, i would say with the utility in the primary and the sleeps/stuns of elec secondary then drop LF 1st, then SG, and drop LC last, the only way i wuold slot LC is 2acc (even in PvE) and 3 recred, the stun is barely worth it and ur other control powers outdo it easily. PS wont wake a slepth foe btw, pre elec epic ice was a common US elec epic for the SS/stealth sappers who would use the PBAoE sleep of ice before the elec drains (PS then SC in that order for sleep reasons).

sonic has some nasty animations, but i havent played it for more than 20 levels. elec, all the powers have uses, even LF and EF, read the descrips and post any queries, the only reason i dont have all the elec powers is because some of them are better than pothers for me, there are none i would say are un-needed.

MCX, yes it's double xp weekend, it finishes at 9 on sunday, raid will be at 7, I'm not sure 2 hoursw ill make or break our game. 9 is no good for a raid due to KotH at 9 30 and monday is less ideal than sunday, next sunday is even less ideal as its a week further away. as for taking forever to set up, only look to the people who turn up late or at the exact time we are starting, at the end of the day its sposed to be fun and is a game; sometimes some of us can log on for 2 horus and do nothing bu talk (me), some people have more limited time and really need the ret of us tobe considerate and efficient during group events, cambo doesnt get the sort of time to play that I do, and i know you, MCX, have some RL constraints too, we all do, but lets try and be ready 10-15 minutes before raids, not logging on at 1 minute past . hopefull we will get some good laughs in. the PDs are asking for a fight, I say we see whch days are best for us then go for it.

the MM will be a good plan for KotH mcx, with keith's ice rad we should do ok, can the KotHers pls let me know if they can't do sunday at 9 30 on test (E-gen?), I was planning on being away this weekend but i dont think I will be now, be prepared though.

The inviters for the SG are those with 3 of 5 ranks, Standard-bearers on CoH, nd, ummm, Oppressors (i think) on CoV, this is the full timers and long timers, although abu is a good bet for this one, the rearrangers are the Aides/Connivers, MCX, Sin, Mars, Dreamer, G, X, these have raid and kick privelages and pretty much every permission that I get.

Coinomatic, sounds good mate, most important thing is fun at the end of the day, although I/we are really trying to push this base thing, at least I think we are :/. I'd love to see your PB in the SG, or troller, or, well just you mate, as u say its nice to chat, last few times ive logged on i've spent most of the time talking then do a few mishs just to justify being online .

from a minmax PoV munitions is a waste of time, the res is to only S and L and is low enough to not really save yo'self . I would say all the other epics are better, although i'm not a fan of longass click powers.

although as for not wading in, thats if u dont have an empath, i like to think i make an empath's life simpler, when i'm on a team with my blaster there is only ever 1 person who needs to be targeted, and it's me, no one else usually takes much damage, so the blanker has its uses yet . Ask Flash G his opinion on empaths getting boring in the late game or DreamWeaver, or though i try not to annoy her by dying so much, she's female etc, not a good plan

as for the new SG thing, sounds like a plan, you should do what you want although maybe take to heart a few things I know from trying forever to keep the SG afloat. firstly, there isnt the player base to make a 'fully fledged' sg anytime soon imo, there may be, but those players generally dont read the boards and finding them all by teaming is a time demanding task. secondly, and i dont mean to sound overlordish, but I personally wont be throwing any alts your way, i would have maybe in the days before CoV and prestige and bases, but now it's too costly when considered in the light of the long term base goals, 1 alt for 1 day can mean anyhting from 1 to 15 kp gone, it mounts up so fast its scary and it works for both motivated earning and alting all over the place respectively to earning lots or no prestige. I would rather never see the global members alting outside the SG, by global i mean pretty much almost all toons in the SG as they are played, its a royal pain in the backside, but its the only thing we have to deal with the current sg limits. Dont take it personally, i have such high hopes for the SG that i dont want to see any1 trying to split their time. when all is said and done ppl will do what they like, and i wont mind cos i cant change that, all i can preach about is about the focus, or lack of it, on long term goals and for me perosnally that has meant selling every drop above TO from lvl 1-50 and still now if it doesnt make it to the base, and since CoV and bases, perma SG mode regardless of anything.

I may be around yet this weekend, still not sure, women are being stroppy so i may be in for this raid n sunday.

Great news for smaller bases looking to get somewhere, also great new for the earnings, i doubt we will see an Inf bump, although as all inf ever earned is recorded (look at the registrar desk), it isnt unreasonable to ask for imo. we'll see, but this is fab news for us all

seriously happy mate, your blaster should feel more powerful and you should have more fun for it now. TS had an automiss bug for a while, twice infact, although I think once it never made it to live cos i kicked off about it.

my best 3 bits of advice for someone going more meleecentric.

1. do not think you have to be in melee, your blasts will be effective in teams and you can work around or with scrappers, you noted this on your post

2. do not try to take alphas without an empath, the SC PS alpha can kill you in a spawn easily, either make sure to not take the alpha somehow, or use lucks, 1 luck vs evens will make enough miss that you hit, more vs higher mobs

3. do not TS unless it is safe to do so, in solo this may mean loss of PBAoE control, in teams this may mean loss of PBAoE taunts or control powers, loss of melee for scrappers and various other nightmare problems (kins come to mind). Use TS in the situations where you know it will cause more benefit to the team that hindrence. (LC is like this but without the damage, if you find yourself stuck it's useful, but im still debating whether to take it live over another hold).

And lastly thanks for actually listening, the reason i try not to riddle my posts with foul language and flames is that i want people to take onboard the actual advice hidden w1th1n 7eH l33t

on the topic of blasters again, 4 blaster mezs will stack over a lvl 50 scrapper's protection, acro will make it the case that 6 are needed for some bizzarre reason from what i've tested.

best bet: kick em in the nuts

o and cherry fusion = 5 mins -> no BFs, that was the last one that seriously messed me up

I'd go elec / elec, that's what I did when i knew nothing and it served me well even with random slots and picks, asi learned more about the strengths of the sets, well let's just say almost nothing cold stop me .

I'd avoid KB heavy sets if you aren't massively familiar with blasting or CoH, Fire is nice but will let you down later on when you rely on more than just damage.

There are a million and one elec posts on thisb board, I'd read through the most recent 2 and maybe the 3rd and 4th (one of which is all about my main), there's a lot of scope for blasters to do well and they can solo faster than scrappers if played well.

Post any ideas away, but pick the sets you fancy and the slots you want, asking first wont hurt much so long as you consider all PoVs.

i may reconsider TB at 2 recred 2 dmg for a nice +70% each, although it don't find it hugely slot-effective. and in most cases you can flatten anything with SC BL TB, although nukes are very personal, i stopped trying to impress ppl with 'look at my uber nuke' and started to focues on 'i can permanently control almost anything in PvE' as i found it more rewarding more often

we will most likely be up for this. by that i mean, we have a fair few ppl who are into pvp but very few who could organise systematic intoxication in an alcoholic beverage production facility.

at the very least we could do marius, mcx and I vs NB, imag and red's blaster. There are a few more possibilities i'm sure. We are looking for raid practice atm, i'm not massive n raid built bases yet, but learning through experimentation.

Hopefully we can arrange something, I think it would be better for one of you lot to post on our thread, when I do not many people seem to notice

I tend to smash the hell out of everything i can although there is some method to the madness in picking targets and positional AoEs.

When I say blaster without a prefix such as 'ranged' or 'melee' (i've given up on the words blapper and blasstroller generally, mainly because I am seeing the AT as an AT that does its own thing, not tries to do another's job), i mean a blaser with usually 3 ranged and 3 melee attacks, usually with an AoE and if the sets allow, some form of control. Blaster does not = ranged damage dealer in my book, blaster = extreme DPS with partial control AT to me. butt he glass part of glass canon still stands . Where's my empath?

P.S. anyone up for a 'race' at pwning a mission or a specific spawn is welcome to get on live or test with me to see which sets/builds/playtyles are most effective.
