Had shutdown my gaming rig and realized that I wanted to check some numbers, so I fired up the live client on my workstation and was met with the following error:
Can't create directory //<computername>/c$/games/coh You don't have correct permissions or directory has been moved...
Or something like that.
Deleting checksum didn't fix it.
Rebooting didn't fix it.
Copying the cohupdater.exe out of the install directory and running it from the desktop Did fix it. Didn't even prompt me on where to install it, just used the values it found in the registry, I assume.
Edit: I did have to delete the old shortcut and replace it with a new one to cohupdater.exe after patching was finished. It is possible that this is all I needed to do in the first place.
This has been a public service announcement.
Hail Satan. -
I've had that same request made by others as well. We'll see. 10.4s still aren't out yet, at least for Win7-64bit.

Quote:If it makes you feel any better, I had to buy my last respec on Bill from the market.*sigh*
You do realise that means I have to respec now, don't you?
I've used every trial respec. Every veteran respec. Every freebie respec.
And I'll be doing it again with I-17's freebie even though I just did it less than two weeks ago. -

Quote:DC does twice as much damage as Consume and can crit as well as gives back 25 end versus consume's 20.
Because it does damage. It's on par with Dark Consumption, another foe-based end-recovery power that does damage.
Also casts in half the time. They have the same recharge.
Somebody's gettin the shaft. -
Quote:From CoD:I'm actually specifically looking at Grant Cover for this. Normally, I wouldn't care about whether enhancing defence-granting powers for defence would grant defence debuff resistance, because I'm going to slot them for defence anyway, hence it doesn't really matter. Grant Cover, however, provides defence to OTHER people, but NOT to me, which makes me reluctant to slot it for defence. If it gave me defence debuff resistance, then I would, and other people would benefit from it. If it doesn't, then I'm just going to stiff other people and feel really sorry on the inside.
RES(Defense) +13.84% for 0.75s [Non-resistable]
It doesn't specifically state unenhanceable here.
And Mids is showing that the DDR value DOES change as I add defense enhs.
So, yes. The DDR in Grant Cover IS enhanceable by defense enhancements. -
Quote:That makes no sense. CoD shows FE on a scrapper buffing Fire damage by 125% for 20 seconds and everything else by 100% for 10.
But from a pure design and balance standpoint, any set that is not Fiery Melee is best served in getting Build Up rather than Fiery Embrace because of that limitation
You take both damage buffs on any primary. Fire them both off for 225% damage buff to fire damage for 20 seconds total and everything else for 200% for 10 seconds, or fire one off after the first runs out for the long duration buff. -
Dechs, your attitude is interesting.
Fire/Fire/Weapon.
With a battle cry, "STOP, or I'll DIE at you!"
Run in, drop caltrops, burn, fireball, die, RotP, repeat.
Hmmmm. -

But why do it it all? What's the goal? Why not just remove the last 5 sales data completely and forever?

Quote:I've shared several of your posts with my wife. She doesn't even play this game and found you to be a fun ride for the whole family. At least its now official and a guideline of what to expect in the future:
Arcanaville is "pretty darned accurate" and "points to the truth" raves Paragon Studios official spokesperson Castle.
I'd like that to be my new forum title if it will fit: "Pretty darned accurate truth-pointer."
(Thank god Castle saw this post before BaB, or I might have been "a fun ride for the whole family" instead.) -
Meh. Fiery Aura sucks so bad that it won't notice another nerf.

Quote:I've been on a team? So THAT'S why my goody drop rate is sucking so bad.I call BS.
Most of these tankers throw a fit and leave by the second or third spawn. -
Concept first. Then maximize performance based on that concept.
Using my main as an example, he's a devil with wings. Flight is important. I've had to leave hasten out of the build due to spending an entire pool pick on Fly. (Just got the 60 month vet reward.)
Luckily for me, hasten on its own doesn't add anything to my build. It's not enough to get me the 303% recharge in Followup that I'd need for the FU, Slash, Focus, repeat attack chain, and the global recharge I have without hasten IS enough for FU, Slash, Focus, Swipe, repeat. -
Quote:It depends on the power and whether it's marked to do so. All of SR's powers that grant DDR do get buffed by Defense enhancement. This is why SR users run around at capped DDR if they take and slot the toggles and passives.
Incidentally, does Defence Buff slotting not also increase Defence Debuff Resistance? People tell me it doesn't, but real numbers seem to show that it does. -
Quote:So you're saying why not create the new pools but allow the primary side to have access to both the current pool as well as the new pool but then if you switch sides you only get access to the new pool?I'm torn on the idea that they built 10-ish new epic pools. On the one hand, that seems like a hell of a lot of work for a corner case. On the other, it would effectively double the epic options for all archetypes.
I'm starting to think that if they were going to build new, they'd build new epic pools and give them to EVERYONE.
(ed. to clarify: You wouldn't have to switch to get "Brute Carp Mastery" or whatever. All Brutes would have access to it no matter what side they were currently on.)
Which would be quite the buff for "those that remain true to their side." Which would piss off those that lose access the moment they become vigilante/rogue. Unless you only lose access if you cross all the way over.
I don't think they're going to allow a brute to choose a PPP pool if they've gone blueside. That would kill the story portion of the PPPs.
But then they will have to add PPP pools for each hero AT.
Hell, I dunno. I'm expecting a cluster#*&$. -
I once wondered if I deserved Bug Hunter for all the ATI work I did, especially now that after all this time those issues are going away.
Then I decided that I didn't deserve squat for that work that I hadn't already received in the way of thanks from folks.
Course... I think my main "badge hunter" still has less than 300 badges after 5+ years of playing, so... no biggee. -
Guide to Scrapping: Tab, F, kill, repeat.

Quote:They don't get APPs now. They won't in the future. They are considered an APP unto themselves.
Do villainous Kheldians get access to Patron Pools, or are they just SOL since they don't get Epic Pools blue side, or are they gonna start getting access to epics?
As for straight ports, which isn't going to happy, stalkers and blasters have more in common than stalkers and scrappers. And masterminds were supposed to be the "tanks" redside while brutes were the counter to scrappers.
Of course, it didn't work out that way in the end. Which is yet another reason we won't see straight APP_PPP ports. -
Gratz, Utopia. I once had the same goal but found there to be several ATs I simply can't tolerate playing.

Worthless? No more so than the damage proc in Mako's.
I say that because the CFBU adds exactly the same amount of DPS to my FU, Slash, Focus, Swipe attack chain as the 20% proc chance of damage from Mako's.
Granted, I fight a LOT of hard targets like AVs and Pylons, but what I worked out in the spreadsheets was rather dead on to what I found in game when it came to my DPS calculations.
And as for better served by putting it in tactics, this is only true if blinding feint is being used less than every 10 seconds. My claws chain has followup being used every 5.28 seconds. 5% chance every 5.28 seconds is better than a 5% chance every 10 seconds as with toggles.
