  1. Hey Bad_Influence, still want to defend this guy after reading the last two pages?

Oh wait... WE drove him to this! WE the evil forum cartel MADE him call a child he doesn't even know a retard!

    Pure comedy gold.

Glad to see that I was correct:

OP can't find teams because he's gignored by the masses on Freedom. OP whines about it and shows WHY he's gignored.

    Brilliant!

What the hell do you suggest I do almighty forum God that knows all in as at fault at nothing?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Quit wasting time whining on the forums and join a team.

    That'd be a start.

So it's harder for you. So what? What are we supposed to do about it? Go find players and put a gun to their head to force them to team with you?

Your attitude sucks. I wouldn't team with you if you paid me to. Did it ever occur to you that folks might recognize your global handle and have already ignored you for showing the attitude in game that you do here?

Did it ever occur to you that you have a harder time finding teams now because no one likes you? We were given a notes tool based on globals for a reason.

    Just a thought.

And, as always, the questionnaire you are given the opportunity to fill out when you cancel your subscription will continue to carry more weight than two years of BMWing on the forums.
  4. Hey King_Ares, if you go back to the post of mine that you attacked me on, you'll see that I was attacking BI directly for her "forum cartel rules the world and attacks everyone" idiocy.

Puts your responses to me in a rather humorous light, doesn't it? You fail at using the victim card.

I hang out on my server's badge channel. I have no problems finding normal teams on the rare occasions I choose to do so. Perhaps that has more to do with me being a known quantity rather than anything else. I don't know, nor do I care. Both of my faction groups have long since splintered or had the members leave the game. As someone that usually solos, this had no impact on me.

You stopped trying to make your case a looong time ago in this thread and for the majority of it instead decided to ride the shirt-tails of one of this community's worst examples.

Is PvP diminished? Yup. Sure is. The devs change something that was utilized by a small handful of people and turned it into something utilized by an apparently even smaller handful of people.

Is it hard for some people to find teams after the introduction of a new bit of content? Perhaps, but as with every other content introduction, it wanes and then waxes. Now is no different than any other update.

Point one: While I no longer do so, the vast majority of my posts came from hanging out in the tech forum doing everything I could to assist other players with their technical issues. That is assisting the community. If, instead, I had 25000 posts of nothing but doom-calling and rants against the "forum cartel," the community as a whole would treat me far differently than they do now.

Going against the majority is a wonderful thing WHEN you do it logically and without needless insults. Many of the changes that have seen fruition in this game came from players armed with reams of factual data and compelling arguments. Both of which are blatantly lacking from the usual suspects in this thread.

An example of how compelling arguments can sway one's opinion can be found right now in the brute forum where I realized after one post from Sarrate that my opinion on doublestacking Active Defense was completely wrong. I recanted my prior post and agreed that Sarrate's opinion was correct. That's how logical and sane discourse is supposed to function.

This game is not lacking farm teams. They are disgustingly easy to find with nothing more than a "padder looking for farm" tell in broadcast. And I come from Pinnacle, one of the lower population servers.

Yes, I judge who deserves disdain and ridicule just as I expect it when I'm being a complete dork. Everyone should. Our society on the whole might raise its IQ some if we all began vocalizing our disgust at idiocy and mediocrity rather than glorifying it with reality TV and a substandard education system.

We all play this game for fun. We all post on the forums for the same reason. Sometimes our opinion of fun differs and as long as the discussion about those opinions stays calm and rational, no one gets belittled or ridiculed.

But when someone starts spewing off about how some evil cabal of forum lurkers attacks all newcomers and suppresses all those that "want nothing more than what's best for the game" then it's time to whip out the mocking-bat and get to swinging.

Or slap them on ignore as non-contributors. Your choice, of course.

I'd stick with the 62.42 DDR number. Having doublestacked AD would be waste of endurance, a waste of slots and a waste of DPS.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I dunno, Bill, being able to hit 95% def resistance seems invaluable to me. I'd rather have the option to do it, even if I didn't use it most times. Besides, the investment is 2 extra slots.

I'm speaking from inexperience, but I'd personally take a close look at it when designing a build.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. I spoke in haste and had just woken up. DDR is invaluable to a defense based character. I've been going over DPS studies with fire/shield and I'm stuck in damage output mode, not mitigation mode.

As Spiritchaser states, and as my own high recharge /SR build shows, you can have doublestacked AD/PB for some of the time even with a single basic lvl 50 IO. (Total recharge on PB for Bill Z right now is 209.9% (global+enh) and Mids shows it having a recharge of 64.5seconds.)

I never do on my claws/sr because I don't let it fire off until I see it blinking or I'm running between spawns.

It's good advice to go for the doublestack when considering shields.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
It's a great secondary, but so are... well... all the other secondaries.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is why the scrapper forums almost completely lack the drama of the other forums around here.

We know we have it good. Not too good, mind you, but good. All the secondaries perform about on par with each other (except FA and DA, but they get self-rezzes for their trouble) and they're all pretty dang fun.
  8. As much as I love my main, also claws/sr, Powerforge speaks truly when he says it's a late bloomer.

If you're not new to MMOs in general, then cool, go for it.

But if you're relatively new to MMOs and want something that will make it easy to deal with the low levels, my vote is willpower over SR.

I replaced elude with conserve power. I should have done it a looooong time ago.

Well, you did; I wasn't playing SR.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Are shields really that good?

    [/ QUOTE ]

SR is better at defense because you can cap defense debuff resistance without even using elude. Neither EA nor SD can come close.

EA has superior endurance management and built in stealth.

SD has against all odds which is a damage buff based the number of enemies immediately around you. It can be softcapped, but not as easily as SR can.

So: Have the best pure secondary mitigation? SR
Get the best damage buff for your primary? SD
    Act like a stalker? EA

Why back in my day, enemies got tohit buffs with higher rank and level instead of accuracy buffs. "Come on, hero, can't you dodge ANYTHING?!?!"

We didn't have no fancysmancy scaling resists neither. You got hit, it tore right through ya.

Wasn't until level 41 when you could get permalude up and runnin that the set was worth anything at all!

Hell, when you turned on your toggles, they gave the enemies tohit buffs!

    Now get off my lawn!
  15. No insps.
    No temps.
    1 level 54 spawn with 3 bosses.
The entire spawn must be aggroed on you at all times.
You can herd them around a nearby corner to maximize usage of damage or mitigation auras but you can not split spawns up.
  16. Bill Z Bubba has never been a "good guy." He's always made sure that by the time his enemies were ported to the Paragon Corrections Infirmary that they were far too gone to be saved.

    He eats babies.

He'll be jumping back and forth as his desires see fit. You have GOT to love diplomatic immunity.

True, but it's dirty and my pristine morality can't tolerate such low brow humor.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Warp 9 (whatever that is) isn't necessary. However, being able to run from one spawn to another within a mission with no down time is. Regardless of AT and powerset, any player at any level ought to be able to run a mission from entrance to completion without stopping if they want to.

The game doesn't permit this. There is no reason for such restriction.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The game permits it after level 22 for specific powersets from specific ATs.

This is why I don't play certain powersets. Sometimes changes are made when powersets or ATs are shown to be too slow or weak or unacceptable for the job they are supposed to do. (See upcoming dominator changes.)

However, as the game and the devs so often remind us, some ATs and/or powersets will solo better than others since some are designed to be team only.

This is why I finally decided to give up trying to get the 1-22 game changed. Some people like the slow ride up. Some people would be negatively impacted if they didn't have the low level weakness to compare to the high level power we get.

And I don't wish to take that away from anyone when I've been given the tools necessary to skip that part of the game.

I thank the devs for allowing me the tools to powerlevel my characters from 1-22 in less than 2 hours. While doing so, I get to play my high level characters as I enjoy them.

    It's a good design.

You can make a highly functional build without stamina.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok, let's take this ball and run with it. What build is "highly functional" without Stamina? On what AT? And don't say regen; tell us something new. After all, the canon argument is that no one needs Stamina; one of the real thigh-slappers I remember was that people who picked up Fitness are "greedy."

And even if you can think up a build, how does that address all the others that cannot move three steps in any direction without it? Rhetorical question only, there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sad part is, no one can make a build without stamina that I can't make more survivable and more capable of non-stop carnage with stamina.

Does that mean everyone should take it? Absolutely not. This game's easy. Not everyone is going to build their character to push the limits of the game's engine as high as possible while alone.

Those are the folks that take stamina. But you could build a team consisting of 8 characters with RA and/or AM and never run out of end no matter how hard you play.

Oh, and ArestheImpaler..? If folks aren't teaming with you, and you have the same attitude in game that you have had in this thread, it's truly no surprise you can't find anyone to team with.

Personally I think that some folks are even getting too worked up about the Going Rogue expansion, expecting it to be out around the same time or soon after Issue 15. I think that's not very likely, and the real time frame will be more along the lines of June or July 2010.

[/ QUOTE ]I think a release date in the Christmas/New Years time frame is more likely than a full year (and then some) from the announcement.
