Nothing to forgive. In a nutshell, Arcanaville figured out that the cast times we see on power info aren't quite accurate due to the way things happen on the server.

To get the "real" cast time of a power you plug it into the following equation:

    =(ROUNDUP(CAST/0.132)+1)*0.132

So if you look at, say, claws slash, the given cast time is 1.33

    (1.33/.132)+1 = 11.0757575
Round that up and it becomes 12
    12*.132 = 1.584

So Claws Slash "real" cast time is 1.584 seconds rather than the set 1.33 seconds.

By adjusting our attack chain times we see that the damage per second values we get when doing things like soloing pylons are closer to what we figure out on paper.

    What if?

I'm waiting for the Mechwarrior reboot. Nothing done here will change that.

Nope, but I'll still call BS. Everyone works for LR, whether they want to/know it or not.

We do. It goes to 0% def to all when you fall down. Granted, that's rather sudden.

FU needs to recharge in 3.96
And that's only 203% total recharge in Followup. 184% if you use Strike (1.32 as well) instead of Swipe.
And FU, Slash, Focus, Strike does better DPS.

The price, as we see, for being sexy is high.
  7. Yes, yes, it's all so black and white. I prefer surrounding myself, when I choose to team, with individuals that have higher than double digit IQs so that I don't have to babysit them.

I "protect" the team by killing enemies. Debuffing health is the best debuff after all.

Yes, I meant GR. If they were to make anniversary badges account wide...

Yes, Bill would have to get busy recreating his body. Hell, I was happy doing it on my brute just for the fresh batch of vetspecs.

  10. Actually it makes perfect sense when dealing with reflexes and long, drawn out fights. As you get tired, as you get beaten on, your ability to dodge suffers. More hits get in forcing you to roll with a punch rather than having it miss you entirely. On top of that as you get beaten on with a steady stream of punches, you're more likely to keep going regardless of the addled state of your consciousness.

It's when someone gets through your defense with a sledgehammer to the skull that you drop like a sack of bricks.

If it weren't for the fact that I'd lose all the anniversary badges, I'd delete my main and rebuild him as a brute. Get him to 50 with all the buff accolades right before I-16 goes live, swap sides, reslot all the IOs that I strip out before deletion.

It'd take some work, but it could be done. Probably should be done.

I always feel a bit traitorous when I say this, but truth is truth:

Brutes > Scrappers > Tanks and that's just the way it is.
  12. What's the point of the OP? Different sets get different rezzes. Regen gets more regen than WP. Warshades will always be superior to PBs because WS's rely on enemies while PBs are selfsufficient. Dark and Fiery lack KB protection. PBs and WS get dwarf form to get them out of mez.

So you don't like your self-rez? Ok. Don't take it.
  13. Then that's a bug and should be /bugged in game as well as a PM sent to the devs.

Or they know about it and are leaving it alone in the same way that enhancement buff is enhancing the value of the unique is being left alone.
  14. I like that better, thanks.

and the regen buff did not work until a mob was in range.
That I would expect since RttC doesn't function without an enemy in range. However, it is a toggle and as a toggle, the proc should fire off every 10 seconds as long as the power is on, shouldn't it?

Has anyone brought this proc behavior to Castle's attention? /bugged it in game? etc etc?

I'm going to go with a big bucket of this.

We'll get ice eventually. The devs making the decisions on proliferation know quite well that the anti-fury argument holds no water at all.

Oh yea... to the OP... lolclaws? 240DPS is lol worthy?

To put it another way, you could probably sooner get Castle to make Brute Evasion into a damage aura than you could get Castle to swap the order of Dodge and Agile.
Truth. Even though SR's order always SHOULD have been:

    FF
    FS
    Dodge
    PB
    Agile
    Evasion
    Quickness
    Lucky
    Elude

However i'd still like to see the roll with the punches type power introduced.
That's what the PSDR is. When they added it to the game after the gutting SR received with ED/GDN, they were specifically looking for an effect that produced the feeling of time slowing down and/or your ability to roll with punches gets better as your ability to dodge the punches gets worse.

The very first day I ran with the PSDR, even though I had been against the change at first, I felt that they had gotten it right. When surrounded and being overcome, the PSDR slowed down things just enough for me (the player) to react to the incoming damage in an appropriate way.

Do AVs still have the ability to leapfrog over the PSDR? Yup. But these days rank/level buff accuracy rather than tohit, which back then was an insta-death sentence unless you had elude up.

So... do I think that the PSDR should kick in earlier? I still don't see the need. I can't take on the RWZ Challenge with only SOs. Well.. I can but I die. However, I know that I'm not supposed to be able to handle 3 +4 bosses and surrounding +4 minions/LTs with only SOs.

I'm probably not supposed to be able to do it with IOs.

Anyway, I've rambled on enough. I only have one SR scrapper. I'm being pulled to use SR instead of EA on my new claws brute because I want the extra 20% recharge. <shrug> The PSDR will be even better on a brute than it is on my scrapper.
  19. Yup. I don't think I'll be pulling that out of the hat.

Probably going FU, Slash, Focus, Strike unless the sexy overrides my need for DPS and I use Swipe instead of Strike.
  20. It's different. But it deals more damage and therefore it's superior.
  21. You only need 385% recharge on Slash for that.....

And the answer is/should NEVER be "play a different set" A set should be worth its own merits.
I completely agree with the second part of your statement. It's why I don't play (read as I play other sets than) electric armor, stone armor, tanks, defenders, stalkers, etc, etc.

I either view them as substandard, badly designed, or just plain boring. Other people have different opinions and attempt to stop me whenever I attempt to get those sets altered to more suit my tastes.

Just as you are doing here.

My claws/sr is a farking PvE god. He's a god because that's precisely what I turned him into using the set as it is now.

Your desires would cause the set to be overpowered and thus nerfed later on. I understand that you don't see it that way. I don't care.

The reason that there's so little in-fighting here in the scrapper forum is because most of us understand that when the various mitigation sets are fully slotted out with SOs, they all function within a certain performance range, some being superior in some situations while others win in different situations.

    We like it that way.

There's a thread elsewhere on the boards where folks are having the same discussion about stone armor that we're having in this thread about SR. Many say the leveling process with SA is far too painful and the set should be overhauled because of it.

Personally, I just hate the lack of mobility. I've voiced my opinion but I know I'm on the losing side of the discussion. Far too many people like the fact that after you get Granite, you're a god. Therefore, I don't see SA ever getting tweaked to my satisfaction.

    I'm ok with that.

SR doesn't need changed. If you want more of the defense from less powers, play Ninjitsu. If you want an HPT clone, play Willpower.

Beyond getting evasion earlier in the build, claws needs no changes at all. Changes should occur when a NEED is present.

That fact is why I'm no longer posting in the SA thread. And that's why this thread will go nowhere as well.
  24. OK... got some attack chain info for ya.

    Assumptions:
You have enough recharge for the chain to repeat.
    You have 95% enhancement damage
All scrapper crits at 10% chance except Eviscerate at 15%
Fury is 90% for 180% damage buff
    You have 66% endurance reduction
No other buffs, enhancements, special IOs, nada. What you see above is all I used for simplicity's sake.

    Followup, Slash, Focus, Strike
    Scrapper: 162 DPS 2.8 EPS
    Brute: 199 DPS 3.2 EPS

    Slash, Focus, Strike
    Scrapper: 120 DPS 2.3 EPS
    Brute: 185 DPS 2.9 EPS

    Eviscerate, Slash, Focus
    Scrapper: 119 DPS 2.4 EPS
    Brute: 177 DPS 2.9 EPS

And the winner with the "yea, good luck getting enough recharge for this chain" attack chain goes to:

    Followup, Slash, Focus
    Scrapper: 188 DPS 3.0
    Brute: 213 DPS 3.5 EPS

Basically the same thing we knew before. Followup is better for the scrapper in the same way that all damage buffs are better for scrappers.

The same chains on a scrapper are better for a brute as well.

SIDE NOTE: I may have to stick with SR on the brute side as well. For no other reason but that I'm going to want Quickness' +20% recharge. But we'll see. Still hammering on the claws/ea build.
