Killing off that sound was the only way I could tolerate my PB at all. Still deleted him again at 30 something. After deleting him at 50.

Sounds great. Won't happen. They've nerfed EM right where they want it. You've a better chance of getting WH buffed.

This one?
Ummm... I don't know what to tell ya, Hawk. How many of the SATA ports are you using? Maybe M_B's idea of right-angle SATA connectors is the right answer. -
M_B,
I sent PMs regarding that accolade last night.
There are two badges attached to marcone consiglieres. You get Untouchable for 100 of them. Gangbuster for 200. The accolade goes off of Gangbuster.
Annoying, yea, but at 50, it isn't like it takes a huge chunk out of your day to run laps around the NE corner of St. Martial. -
Quote:Completely off topic, but M_B speaks the truth. There have been players banned from the forums for deciding to be attack dogs. Satan knows I've had my share of modsmacks for it.
Absolutely no need to get personal or "get into it" with the OP. He gets incorrect information corrected, and... well, I'll be blunt here as well, you don't look like an *** presenting it that way. Which means - useless "forum rep game" aside - people will be more likely to take you seriously in the future as well, instead of being seen as an "attack dog."
It's something I'm saying from personal experience.
In the end, it's not worth it. If you find someone on the forums that annoys you every time you see them post, use ignore.
Too bad that you still see that "you are ignoring this user" thing instead of nothing at all, but at least it keeps you from having to read their spew. -
Lies.
I did it last night on my main villain rebuild. I had missed the Steel Canyon mayhem mission.
Grabbed my brother's level 24 villain, ran a few paper missions, got the SC mayhem, got the badge on my level 50, got the invader accolade. No problem.
If I hadn't had my brother's villain, I would have requested help in my server's badge channel and gotten it that way.
By the by, last night while doing RL work, I ran that villain around for a few short hours and picked up 4 buff accolades.
Are the defeat badges still annoying? Hell yea. Was it difficult? Hell no.
Your request is silly. -
True, true. But when it's a defense user, the fluffy's heal can't hit you so it can't heal itself. Makes soloing it to death a lot easier.
-
Quote:Yes, yes... the game is so horribly unfair to those poor meleers. The soloing of archvillains. The soloing of TF/SFs. Soloing paper/scanners at +4/x8 difficulty. We do have it soooo hard. <sniffle>
More of this than already exists would be undesirable.
Honest question, Heraclea.... you really just miss the days of herding entire maps into dumpsters, don't you? -
You can also have a defense heavy meleer separate the healing fluffy from the rest, get it around a corner and solo it while the rest of the team takes down Rom and the other two fluffies.
In the end, however, he's a cakewalk with the current difficulty settings. Just jump him, drop debuffs on him, kill him, get out of LoS when he falls to avoid the nasty stun, repeat until done. -
...
If this is true, and scrappers get brute pools, then my main could get darkest night and gloom. Soft-capped defense + scaling resists + a aoe damage debuff + tough. Nice. -
Quote:Your statements in this thread have rather proven this to be true.
Instead, I'm told that I don't know how to play the characters I like best, that I'm inflexible or hidebound.
I had to go look up hidebound. I like that word. -
-
Please be sure that I can set Die as my permanent choice in options. I'm a touch ruthless with my SKs.
Also, I want those praetorian clockwork gloves. A lot. -
If people really wanted to fix market inflation they'd stop paying stupid prices.

Quote:Cool. Learn something new every day. I had no idea that the gauntlet aoe wasn't a single static size.Basically. Harder hitting attacks get bigger aoe effects, so KO Blow will affect a sizable area. On the other hand, a quick recharging attack is useful for maintaining aggro since the tanker can just attack->tab and repeat. Both have their uses, although once you get actual aoe attacks, any gauntlet strategy is kinda pointless.
-
I thought gauntlet was nothing more than an aoe taunt that fired off with every attack landed and centered on the actual target. Wouldn't claws quick recharging be better for that?

Quote:No, honestly, there was nothing funny in this thread.
I was led to believe the Going Rogue would be a complete retail product ready for release in Spring 2010 and now its just setback after setback with compensation features to make up for the last minute delays (which is fine, and I'm pleased with the quality of the content being proposed - if and whenever it actually shows up).
By the by, Spring runs from Mar 20 to Jun 20. If GR doesn't go live before Jun 20th, your case will have merit. If it does not, then all your angst was for nothing. Incarnate levels don't count. They were NEVER mentioned prior to PAX. -
No, Heraclea, I was not asking you that. I was using it as an example to show you that your belief that vanguard are unfair to melee classes is completely baseless and irrational in light of what the other archetypes have to deal with regularly.

Quote:You don't see it going both ways because you are willfully and flagrantly ignoring how much content out there is specifically designed to screw over all the other ATs.Maybe, as soon as I get over being amazed at the ability of people to simultaneously
- maintain that all characters are potentially equally helpful on all content and will always find a place on teams looking to run it, while
- out of the other side of their mouths they acknowledge that at least one mission arc is designed to be deliberately hostile to some character classes.
This concerns me, and I think it ought to concern you as well. And if that is an issue with character that is somehow important, unlocking accolades or further story lines, you will be left out. Just as I'm left out of Dark Watcher due to my distaste for the Gaussian arc, and get told to bring a blaster or debuffer if I want to get in on a STF on a scrapper.
You don't see it going both ways because you're stuck in a tanking mindset that went the way of the dodo 10 issues ago.
You don't see it going both ways because you are choosing to remain completely ignorant to the concept of utilizing teamwork.
There's a thing in this game that's quite prevalent called Mez. Guess how many ATs get to ignore it completely by the time they can slot DOs versus how many have to fight against it for the entire run from 1 to 50? You don't think that's a bit excessive?
I have run the STF with my scrapper many times and have NEVER been told to get something else. You obviously run with a bunch of morons.
It's really no wonder that opinion towards tanks is so low.
Quote:When you decide to put together a team, which would you rather have on it: characters that help more, or characters that don't help as much? -
Yes, the +def would be higher from Parry and Divine Avalanche. Far as I'm concerned, those are both overpowered now. But if I'm wrong and they aren't OP on scrappers, then they won't be OP on tanks.
Where's the balance? Tanks don't get crits and have a lower damage modifier. Does this mean that the defense based tanks would have a ridiculously easy time softcapping to melee and lethal? Probably. But the same arguement is being made on why they shouldn't get SR.... yet tanks, scrappers and brutes all got shield defense.
