  1. Thanks Roderick. Looks like the problem was with my browser (Chrome). I tried it under IE and they work fine.
  2. Does anyone have any alternative links to the Official Comic Archives? None of the links off the official website are working.

    Just curious...
  3. Reactivated my account and transferred one of my 50's here:

Iron Gargoyle: Hero Broad Sword/Shield Scrapper

I have a villain I'll transfer next month as part of my free transfer:

Baron Guede: Villain Necromancy / Dark Miasma Mastermind
  4. Hello All,

I'm returning to City of Heroes after being away for some time. I have to admit that although the game is still very familiar, quite a bit has changed in the past year or so I've been away.

I notice that Virtue and Freedom seem to be the most active servers but I really want to make Exalted my home now that I'm back.

I'll be joining most of the channels listed in the sticky but I still have a few questions:

    1) What's the most active RP gathering spot? On Virtue it still appears to be Pocket D but the last few times I stopped by Pocket D on Exalted it was empty. Just wondering if it's timing or if the RPers gather somewhere else.

    2) How's the activity on the Hero and Villain sides? I plan on starting some new characters in Praetoria but was wondering where the most activity is once I finish that zone.

2a) What are the most active Groups (Hero and Villain)? I'd like to join an active SG/VG and start getting back into the swing of Task/Strike Forces and such.

    3) Are there any costume contests being sponsored by any groups? I really enjoyed those on both Pinnacle and Virtue the last time I played regularly.

Hope to meet the Exalted community in game as I get back into the groove. ;-)
  5. I'm having the same problem. The server status page shows it as up though...weird.
  6. Hello All,

Since I'm leaning heavily towards a Brute, I'm posting this here instead of in the Stalker forum.

As the topic suggests, I'm looking for feedback on which is "better": DB/DA Brute or DB/DA Stalker?

For the character concept I have in mind, I'll be going the Leviathan Mastery route at the upper levels.

I look forward to reading any feedback on which AT would fit this power set combo "best".

  7. Hello fellow Pinn-Heads.

I just returned to CoX after real life forced a 6 month hiatus from the game. I notice that the server seems almost dead, especially red-side.

Has most of the player base left for other MMOs (Champions Online I would guess) or are they just not excited about the game anymore until Going Rogue is released?

Just curious and even though the server population seems a lot lower, I'll still have fun blue and red side.
  8. I just released Destruxion and Ghul-Djinn

8/1/09: I just freed up "Mister Arcane" and will be freeing up "FusionStorm" in the next few days.
  9. Awesome! Thanks for the clarification everyone. That helps a lot.
  10. Hello All,

Sorry for what's probably a simple question, but running a search on the forums hasn't revealed a clear answer.

In the description for Enchant Undead and Dark Empowerment, it states that "you can only empower any given undead henchman once".

I just respecced my Necromancy Mastermind and finally selected those powers. In playing around, it seems like you can enchant your minions once per summon. Is that correct, or is this a one time enchant...period?

The wording is a little misleading if I can use a different minion "buff" each time I summon them.

    Just looking for some clarification.

    Thanks in advance!
  11. I agree with Frost...while it can be done, running the Windows CoH client in VMWare/Parallels/Virtual Box isn't the best performance option.

I have my MacBook Bootcamp'ed and I run the Mac client when I'm connected up to a second display and want to "work" while having the game client up on my second display in windowed mode.

I re-boot into Windows when all I plan on doing is playing CoH.

I can state without hesitation that the best performance and most eye-candy is achieved when running the Windows client.

    This?

Great! Now I have to clean up my keyboard after getting coffee all over it!
  13. After 4 months of play, I finally got my 1st CoH character to lvl 50: War-Bird, Tech Scrapper.

Now I'm on to leveling a Warshade and after that, I hope to get my 1st villain to 50 so I can try out an epic villain archetype.
  14. Mission name:
Arc Name: Staring evil in the face...
    Arc ID: 163903
    Morality: Heroic
    Length: Very Long
    Difficulty: 1-14
Description: My 1st attempt at using this wonderful tool. After reading complaints regarding a lack of low level arcs, I decided to create one featuring a custom AV. If people like it, I'll write more featuring this custom AV as a recurring nemesis for progressively higher levels.

It's a 5 mission arc and the last mission may need a team or a really good player to complete solo.

What you were drinking when this was created?: Coffee...lots of it.
  15. I also use a MacBook (2009), albeit the metal finish, not the white one. It has pretty much the same specs as the previous poster with the main difference being 4GB RAM (this is my work laptop). No complaints here with the only "laggy" spots being high "population" zones where there's 30+ players or the base portals. Still trying to figure out how to reduce the FPS hit I get when near those base portals.

For reference, I also play on an Alienware m9700 with dual-video cards on rare occasions (my daughter uses the Alienware most of the time) and other than it having some of the advanced graphics features the Mac client doesn't have, I've found the Mac client to be sufficient.

That being said, IF I could pick one to use most of the time, it would probably be my Alienware since I love the extra eye-candy I get on it. Then again, if I want to run a task force or 2, I'd rather play on my Mac since it tends to be more stable for long stretches of time.

    Just my $.02...
  16. I currently play on a MacBook (not the pro) with 4GB of RAM and the only issues I notice are when I'm in areas with LOTS of other heroes or in Pocket D (which usually has lots of heroes and villians anyway). Granted I haven't made it to all the zones (just started playing a couple of weeks ago) but so far with all details on high (except for shadows, that's disabled), I'm averaging ~30fps.

Overall, it's a very enjoyable playing experience and I don't have any complaints. Of course a truly native OS X client would be "da bomb", but I'll take this "port" for now.
