I am quite happy with the change.
I've already implemented it in my DM/DA's costume slots. It's a bit strange to be stealthy and yet fully visible, but I like it better than being completely invisible. -
Quote:It seems to me that system requirements were increased when CoV came out, and it felt to me like there was another hit not too long after that.If they throw in too many graphical bells and whistles, they run the risk of increasing the system requirements (look what happened to Windows Vista with all that animated-menu faff and suchlike), which is a mean thing to do to an established user base. Which isn't to say they mightn't do it anyway, I just rather hope they don't.
I'm not arguing for or against (although I would like to see some upgrades), just that this is something we've been through before. -
Quote:For Freedom and Virtue, the options were:You've got to be kidding me. Server queues? Sorry, the moment I see that I'm queued to log on to a server for a game that I pay $30 a month for (two accounts), I'm gone. I have never played a MMOG with queued log ons, and I'm not about to start. And no, I don't play on Freedom, nor Virtue.
* Not being able to log in at all
* waiting in a queue to log in
In that regard, it's not really that bad. Of course, I lived through the 2 hour WoW queues... -
Quote:My main superhero around here has cool red and black armor...does this mean she's evil?Ah, reading yours and Sams post I see I read the original the wrong way. My bad ^^
Yup, totally agree with you. It's the same as all this PvE/PvP/RPer warring or whatnot, so long as it doesn't cross into actual conflicting and being a jerk (power-spammers in Pocket D, etc) then there's nothing wrong with people playing the game to enjoy it, however they want to.
But, OT.
There will always be evil. Evil gets the really cool armour, and red and blackWho can resist the really cool armour, and the super doomsday weapons?
Besides, Villains are more famous than Heroes. You save some person on the street, you might make page 10. Villains? All you need to do is rob a bank and your headlining
Or does the fact that she controls the powers of darkness mean she's evil? -
Do you have to know to at least acknowledge that it is a problem for "everyone?" Obviously, not everyone hates it (or you'd hate it too), but just as obviously, some people do hate it, and this option lets us opt out of being a... well, I never saw the cloud as ominous. More like fluffy.

I'm down with super strength for scrappers. Most of my other wishes have been granted.

Quote:You know it's not furries who make these assumptions, right? You can't really hold them responsible for other people being jerks like this.Because some people would like to make those characters? Without instantly being labled 'furry' (which I know I find offensive, actually)
Not every single character concept that happens to use cat ears/tails/animal parts is instantly something strange. I get rather sick of people assuming as such.
It shouldn't matter if furries make their anthro characters or you make your anthro characters. It doesn't hurt anyone at all. -
-
Quote:I'm going to just say it: Why give a damn whether furries can make anthro characters? What does it matter? Who does it hurt?Worse? Gods...I didn't think that was possible...
I wouldn't get your hopes up, although it would be nice to make anthro characters that arent stupidly monster looking.
FYI, GG, it IS possible to make an anthro character without going down the...f-word path. There is a large difference. I agree that way is...eh..yeah -flappy handwave-
But what about someone who wants to make a werewolf that looks a bit more humanoid and traditional? Or a believable dragon-hybrid, without the crappy mis-matching scales?
And what about tails that dont need a belt slot and dont look like utter, utter failcake? The 'tails' are the things I hate most in costume editor right now, tbh. -
You spend a lot of time reading the CO forum, you know that?

Quote:Merging the server lists seems completely reasonable.Title says it all......reason behind this request is that Union + Defiant are pretty dead tbh.
Plus increasing the US server list by four and giving EU subscribers the ability to make 132 more characters = win -

But...I already have my spider smasher badge!

Quote:Honestly, I don't remember our past disagreements, and I thought your post about wolf spiders was interesting. I did think it was obvious that my statement was ludicrous enough to obviously be a joke.Frankly, I was wondering if that was the stance you were taking with me...
I thought you might have been joking, but given that we've not exactly seen eye to eye in the past, I wasn't sure.... so I gave you an opening to clarify (lol, wut?).... but you didn't...
so. Looks like misunderstandings all around. I will note, however, that I never resorted to namecalling.
I'm sorry about the tinfoil comment, but when people start telling me what I'm really thinking and saying, it's kinda annoying, you know? How would you react? -
-
Backpedaling requires me to change where I started. It's like, how could I possibly amend my joke into being a joke when it was a joke all along? Obviously, I can't control how you choose to interpret my post, but you're reading way too much into it.
Do you really honestly believe that I would get angry and insulting at someone for stepping on a spider? That I would in all honesty and seriousness invoke the image of weeping spider orphans to attempt to call a thunderbolt of shame down upon your head? Is the world you live in one where such a scenario is not only plausible but likely? Are you really so credulous that you believe that this is something people who are not members of PETA are really likely to do?
Like I said, tinfoil. -
Quote:Is this some kind of performance art? Some kind of joke? So, you ASSUME that I, myself, have actually stepped on a wolf spider bearing its young?
You of course did not consider the possibility that what I said was a WARNING that I might have heard from another friend who had done so... which is, in fact, the case. It was one of several bits of advice I received when I first moved to the desert (along with lots of info about snakes, scorpions, cicadas, cockroaches, lizards, black widows, brown recluse, etc.,.).
Here's the thing.... the tangent about spiders was all in humor... heck, I even brought my comment slightly on topic by referencing the "bugginess".
PS: Kali, don't think for a second that I am oblivious to the significance that you picked MY comment in particular to respond to in such a negative manner... too bad you didn't amend it as joking when given the chance.
Anyway, yeah, I picked your comment because the image that came to mind amused me. If you honestly think that I was really truly calling you a terrible person, and that my post was in all seriousness, well...I guess this is a thread marked by a high tinfoil content, so might as well throw your own in, you know? -
-
Quote:And then they all run back when you're gone and cry, "mommy, wake up!"And whatever you do, DO NOT STEP ON A WOLF SPIDER... especially early summer. They carry their young on their backs... step on them, and a bazillion baby spiders go skittering every which way.
talk about "buggy"
>.<
*shudder*
You terrible person. -
Edit: zomg, what was I thinking? Sweet reason has no place here.
