Quote:Tell me about it, we tried to run the Master of Lady grey to see if it was active in game and when we got to Hami, we cleared the Yellows, cleared the Blue, and BLAAAAPPPHH!! Direct stop at a wall of Greens that could not be defeated.Back on topic: Hamidon in the LGTF is currently bugged. The green mitos are near unkillable, because their regeneration aura never drops. Castle is on it and will be fixing it next week, but who knows when the patch will make it live. Until then, if you get easily stressed on Master attempts, I'd advise against trying it.
We even tried taking our 2 blasters and filling up with tier 3 reds and damage cap themselves to see if we could do it. With both blasters at damage cap and the rest of the team whackiong away, we couldn't budge the health of a Green Mito.
So that ended that test run, we will have to wait until its fixed to see if the badge is active or not.
Just a FYI, the Master of Lady Grey will be a piece of cake, no pun intended on my behalf -
The site was updated the morning of Issue 17, everything is showing from what I can see.

The best thing to do is make sure which directory your game is installed to. The installer should locate the default directory for you. If you install it someone else it may not work correctly.
But if you did install the game to C:\Games\City of Heroes you will need to make sure you direct the installer to that directory.
Once you've done that, you need to double check your Shortcut on your desktop to see if its pointing to the correct directory as well. You can do this by right clicking your COH Icon on your decktop and then go to properties.
Look in the Target Field and make sure it is pointing to the same directory you installed the game and the Map pack. They should both be the same directory.
From what you've said it seems you have 2 directories with the game installed, so you need to make sure you install to the current directory your Shortcut is pointing to. -
Quote:There should be a uninstall.exe in your City of Hero directory, you can remove it from there or use the Add and Remove Programs in the control panel.Just a side question. I've never installed any map packs before...is there a way to 'un-install' the map pack? From what I gather this map pack just places new img files in the coh directory....so really no software to un-install from Add/Remove Programs....but was curious. I would most likely get rid of the map pack once I get the shiny badges

Shouldh't have a problem with the Map Pack on Windows & 64bit, I too am on windows 7 64bit and never had any issue with installing it. And it works with no problems in game.

Files have always been clean of viruses, just the MegaUpload site was causing the issue.
But, I'e placed 2 links on the download page, if one is slow try the other.
Sorry but there is a lot of people hammering the server right now as a lot of people are downloading, so it may be slow at times -
Just letting everyoen know, I removed all the files from MegaUpload and placed them on a private server, so feel free to download at will.
No more advertisements to cause any more issues. -
Ok everyone, files are now back up and ready to be downloaded.
There is no redirect or file sharing with these downloads, they are placed on a direct link system. So no more damn advertisements to mess anything up.
If there is any problems, just let me know
Enjoy! -
Quote:Aye it's the ads on Megaupload, i host around 20-30 files per day on there and have had the odd complaint here and there. However, i continue to use them as they give such good download speeds even for free users, i simply advise people to use the Adblock Plus Addon for Firefox. People really shouldn't be surfing the web without at least it and preferably with NoScript too anyway.
I agree, I never surf without it, and I love it. Then again, even without the ad-on, I've never had any virus alerts from megaupload, but I want to play it safe anyway.
So I removed them and should have them back up shortly. So bear with me and I will update this post as soon as they are ready for downloading again.

No, that error is correct.
Due to 3 people claiming they received a virus / trojan from the file sharing site I use, I decided to remove all downloadable files, until I can find a suitable replacement to host my files.
I'm hoping I can have this sorted out by the end of the day, so please be patient as I try to rectify the situation. -
Quote:First off, I'd like to apologize for any viruses you may have gotten a hold of while browsing the web.Earlier this afternoon a buddy of mine, while on the phone with me, downloaded the new Map Pack from Vidiotmaps that included issue 17's new expl. badges and stuff.....
he's re-formatting as I type this, NASTY trojan piggy backed with it and screwed the pooch big time on his comp.
WARNING: DO NOT DOWNLOAD the new map pack from vidiotmaps guess they never fixed the problem.....
Second, I can assure you there is "NO" viruses on the map pack or any other downloads you get from my site.
Actually, I did correct the problem from before, which is why you see no ads on my site anymore.
And for the record, I've had over 6,000 people download the map pack for the new Issue 17 so far, and I've heard of 3 people having this same issue. And to me, thats more than I would hope to see have this issue. So yes, I do care about things like this and I'm grateful someone has brought it to my attention instead of coming here and posting about it, when it should've been brought to my attention. But never the less, I hope I can find another place to store the files.
It is very possible that it came from the advertisements the file sharing site use. I know they display ads on their site. This unfortunately, isn't something I can control. I have however contacted the file sharing site and made them aware of the problem and they are currently looking into the situation.
I don't know their policy on things like this, as I'm not a partner with the site or know their policies. Anyone can sign up to the site to store files. Actually, you don't need to create an account to download either. Anyone can download if I'm not mistaken.
The reason I use the file sharing site is due to bandwith, my site can't handle it. Well it can, but I can't handle the costs, bandwith is pretty expensive once you exceed your maximum threshold.
So if anyone has a better place for me to store the files, please don't hesitate to let me know, I will gladly move them to another site. I have no ties to the current file sharing site I'm with. Just PM me and I will do what I can to move the files away from the current site so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Hey everyone,
Yes, I pretty much removed the Mac installer, I had no way to update it as I don't have a Mac to do any testing. I had someone who was going to update the map pac for me, but I guess that fell through.
So if anyone here that happens to read this would like to hop aboard the train at Vidiotmaps and can update the Mac installer, you can simply send me a PM here on the boards or contact me at the badge-hunter forums.
But yes, because the Mac installer was so outdated, I removed it from the site. But I am very willing to put it back if I can get it updated.

Quote:It may be a pain to track, but it was an idea. As for the Passport, I would pay with no problems, I don't mind spending a little bit of money towards the game I've played for the past 6 years. I'd like to see it go another 6, so giving the game money to ensure its survival, I don't have a problem doing that. Plus I get a badge for it as well, so I get to enjoy both the game and the badgeI would hazard a guess that would be a nightmare for the developers to track.
Yuck. It would be yet another purchased badge at that point. -
Quote:Grats Leo!Congratulations, Leo!!
Personally, I rank this badge with Passport: It doesn't exist. >.>
Yes I agree with you Kheld. Even though I already have the Bug Hunter badge, its like hitting the lotto to be honest. I think the badge should be for finding 10 legit bugs that are fixed. That way it has a more realistic future of being earned by even a casual player.
As for Passport, they should just remove this badge all together, there is no way to earn this unless you get it through a bug that happens to award it to you. Or change the requirements to a simple server switch of a character, at least we have a way to earn it and possibly make NcSoft some money for purchasing a server switch -
Yes, sorry about that guys, I use my own icons for certain things and when Vanden sent me his update, I forgot to remove my icons.
I have corrected the issue with the installer and replaced my icons with Vanden's Icons, so feel free to download the installer and reinstall overtop of what is already there.
Once again, I apologize, I have a lot of things on my plate and I made a boo boo -
Here you go folks, thanks to Blondeshell for helping me get this Map Pack together since my PC took a dump, so be sure to extend a thank you to him as well.
Here are the changes made with the new Map Pack for Issue 17: Dark Mirror.
Please keep in mind, the new Map Pack contains badge markers that will not be active until Issue 17 hits the live servers.
If you locate any errors, please be sure to let me know and we can get them corrected. But please post any bugs or errors on the Badge-Hunter forums not here. I don't want to clutter the CoH Forums for support issue that don't belong to them

Of course
I just didn't say that as two people already quoted what I had said previously. But yes, the map pack is just about done and should be ready for download shortly before or shortly after Issue 17 goes live. Just finishing up the final touches. -
You can look at the Badge Art and listing here on the forums in the sticky threads...
Issue 17 badges
Again, you can't see the full details of each badge yet as they are not active badges. But once Issue 17 goes live, I will have them all ready for tracking, for everyone. -
This is all I have to say...
That is all -
Quote:No, the "Ghost Town" is not a bunk statement. I'm on Pinnacle, the AE buildings are completely empty, and I mean empty, unless "Only" if people find a mission that give decent rewards, for example an exploit, do they actually use the AE system.I'd be pissed if they removed the EXP from AE, that's a terrible idea. I'm no RPer and I use AE quite often.
And this whole Ghost Town theory is bunk. There are many players, like me, that use AE to run other people's story arcs for entertainment and tickets. However, only the developers truly know the amount of players using AE, and I wonder if they can differentiate between players using it for farms, exploits or intended purposes.
Yeah, we may have 50 people out of a few thousand that use it, but you said it yourself, you run it for entertainment and tickets, that has nothing to do with XP. You can still run the AE mission for entertainment and tickets, you just wouldn't get XP.
If you want XP, go run normal mission, leave the AE for creative fun thing people can create and share with others, it doesn't have to have rewards, hell if you ask me the AE system alone is a reward all on its own, to be able to create your own story arc.
Again, remove the XP and the exploitive behavior will be solved with the AE System. If you don't want to remove XP from the entire AE System, then remove it from the Mobs and attach a certain amount of XP on the mission complete. Assign a different amount of XP depending on the length of the mission and its criteria for the mission arc. -
Like I said in another post, remove the XP and rewards from the AE all together, then anyonecan create any mission they want and put 2,000 AVS into 1 mission and can all be 1 shotted with brawl, at least it won't be a exploit anymore as you will be removing the risk vs reward scenario.
Eliminate the XP and the farmers will leave the AE system and do other things, like farming regular missions again. That way all the RPers and such can enjoy the AE system for what it was truly designed for.
Then as Arctic_Princess stated, remove/flush the AE arcs with those specific key words, it won;t be hard to do, just a little extra time and the AE system will be exactly what is was intended for. -
Quote:I was thinking this exact same thing earlier today! If they keep to their usual pattern, the "temporary" fix will be swept under the rug and conveniently forgotten about until the population simply accepts the fact that this is now a permanent "feature" of the game.
Quote:I understand your sentiment. If this takes as long as TF fixes to get re-fixed, I'll be a sad panda. That said, at least there is intention to fix. For that, I am placated.
All I know is the AE is becoming a ghost town due to all the changes, not that I care anymore, since my arcs are buried in the midst of thousands of arcs and will never be played again. But fixes like this that stop people from doing whatever they are doing is ok, but not when the fix affects legit players. Some may be ok with it, but many aren't
This temp fix should never have happened, it should have waited until a more suitable fix was ready to be released. It's bad enough all the mob's xp sucks compared to the Official Mobs in game, but to make Allies take away xp even more is a joke.
Now when and if I happen to play a AE Mission and I see a Ally, I quit the mission and go find something else to run. I don't want my xp gimped anymore than it is already in this game. Lets just hope this fix doesn't fall to the wayside like the fix for the Cathedral of Pain suffered. -
Jagged Legion on the Pinnacle server has been here since launch. We are still active and still recruiting members on a daily basis. Unfortunately, its not run by the same people who originally founded the SG. But is being run by original members since launch if that makes any sense
But since we are talking about Super Groups, how about adding a feature that when you add a character to the SG from your same account it only takes 1 roster spot. I know the SG limit is set to 150 characters, but many of us have unlocked all of our slots on our account and it sort of a pain to keep removing characters out of the SG to make room for our other character when playing.
It would be nice if the system checked the global of the character and if the global matches a character that is already in the SG, it doesn't minus a character slot from the SG.
Just something that would be nice for the larger groups out there -
Ok, just thought it was missing all together as I noticed it in the drop down, but wasn;t displaying once it was elected. Thanks for the heads up.
