Seek out my arc, called:
The Misfits of Vengeance, currently ARC ID 114085 (but keeps changing as I update). It's a 5-mish arc intended as a task force proposal for the Rikti War Zone (co-op) about a few misfits of NPC groups who band together and pull other dissenters from their groups together to get revenge and take over the world. So, in theory, something from every NPC group would be represented (though it would be easier to do that if all NPCs were capable of being seen at level 50). It features 7 custom arch-villains, so I'd suggest taking a full team for full effect. Great story (in my possibly-biased opinion). I'd dearly like to know what you think.

I could not get this arc to start. Must be a problem due to a patch. I message the author in game as well and will remove it from my list. If the error is corrected, I will add you back up towards the top of the list. -

I'd appreciate it if you would take a look at Arc 8121, Rapp'Mas'Ta's War. I've had a lot of friends look at it, but you know...fresh eyes, huh? It IS solo-friendly, and I enjoyed writing it. Hope you have fun!

Finally getting to this one with a Lvl 37 DB/Regen Scrapper.
Mission 1: Dark Watcher informs me that the Rikti are targeting very specific areas of the RI. We are being sent in to an area the Rikti have just finished destroying. The mission has a mix of Ritki and Wailers., but the only objective is to defeat a standard Ritki boss. He went down easily. All of the wailers say the same thing, you might want to vary up their dialogue a bit. Also, from the opening dialogue it seemed like the Ritki came in an destroyed the area and we are being sent in to see what is going on, so I was thinking there would be no Ritki in there. Might want to just clean up the dialogue a bit. The clue at the end says there is an altered energy pistol....
Mission 2: Dark Watcher is now sending us to a scientist to help us figure out how the pistol has been altered, which hopefully gives us a clue as to what the Ritki are up to. The scientist was being captured by the Freakshow (not sure why) but we rescued him and he told us the pistol was modified with sonic attacks, but done imperfectly, which is why it is broken.
Mission 3: We find out why the Freaks were involved and are now sent to fight the Ritki as they attack a Freakshow Noise Tank hideout. Mission title indicates it is a kill all. Not a great mpa to use with a kill all, there are a lot of obstacles for them to hide. Also having patrols on a kill all can be a bit tough too. Luckily, I had no problems clearing the map, but many people hate the kill all for almost any situation. Anyhow, The Ritki were trying to incorporate Freak noise tech into their weapons, we stopped them and now have to chase down the leader.
Mission 4: We need to defeat the leader and destroy all of their tech equipment and plans for incorporating sonic technology. They also took a Noise Tank, and it seems optional that we rescue him. This last mission was a little more tedious than fun. There were 15 glowies to click (and they should have been destructibles probably if you go by the story line). The big bad at the end was a heavy EB.
Overall this was a good mission for beating up Ritki and Freaks, which everyone loves to do, right? The kill all on that map and the final mission dragged things down a bit. to me the missions became a bit too tedious. Also, the story itself was OK. It made sense, there was nothing ridiculous about it - however, it just never grabbed me and made me think, wow, what a cool story. This was wavering between a 3 and a 4 rating. The last two missions and the story bumped it down to a 3 for me. -

The Revenge of Dr. Marcovici 161797
Rating 5 Stars
Character: lvl 50 Invul/EM tanker diff 3.
The Revenge of Dr. Marcovici is a great arc. It is very well written. The custom critters look good and are tough. The contact is likeable and his dialogue is excellent. If not for the fact that you never actually meet Dr. Marcovici this should be a devs choice.
Mission 1 rescue guys, find a clue, kill some Freakshow.
Mission 2 Custom critters look good (not great) and are fun to kill. Nice attention to details with the c.c.s, similar clothing style yet all different. Digger has a shovel, lumberjack has an axe, etc.
Mission 3 I loved the tie in to me in the storyline here. 5 bombs, quick simple. why is this mish even here?
Mission 4 Ah that's why. Nice. Very nice. I hate Dr. Marcovici, never even met him and i hate him. How did I know Marcovici wouldn't be here.
The Revenge of Dr. Marcovici deserves five stars because the story is so good I was eager to go back in and look for this [censored] guy. The missions are quick and straightforward, but that's not what makes them great. They are great because they are all quick and straightforward, the flow, tempo, pace whatever you want to call it is maintained perfectly. A rare and wonderful thing. The c.c.s are cool to look at and are tough and fun to kill. Most of all the storyline grabs you from mish one and holds you throughout.
Great job!
The Revenge of Dr. Marcovici ends in a cliffhanger. You must decide between two life choices. I decided to go after the hostages because that's the sort of hero I am. So:
Dr Marcovici H 161800
Rating 4 Stars
The continuation of the arc maintains all the great things from the first part. The story is good. The pace is quick and straightforward and most of all I want to kill this guy already.
I enter each mish eager to finally come face to face with evil.
Mission 1 rescue heroes, Kung fu and Rad-Rad look great.
Mission 2 Rescue hero.
Mission 3 the sewers, nice unexpected surprise. Dr. Marcovici EB tough and I couldn't wait for him to die. He asked me why I killed his brothers? Because they were evil, just like him.
Very good continuation. Not quite as good as the first part.
Why not five stars? This H edition needs some slight twist or surprise in the storyline. Either or both Kung fu and/or Rad-Rad should fight, they look way too good not to see them in action. Mish 1 (or mish 2) needed a boss guarding the hostages.
Good job!
The whole story overall awesome. Everyone should play this.

Wow, thanks for the review. I'm am so glad you enjoyed it. I put a lot of work into this whole thing and it took up all three of my MA spots, so I am really hoping more people give it a try.
I just wish there was a way to give the player a choice and have the story branch out, but still stay contained in one story arc. Maybe someday the Dev's will give us that option.
Thanks again. -

The war between Good and Evil is not as clear as one may want to believe. One man's hero is another man's villain. It's all a matter of perspective. Take the war between Angels and Demons for instance. You may be surprised at just how unclear things can truly be after all.--A Face Off kind of adventure.

Short ones get to skip up in my queue.
Lvl 50 Kat/Regen Scrapper
Mission 1: Interesting start. We are told my our contact that the bad between good and evil, represented by angels and demons, must be eternal, for if one side wins, then the world will be unbalanced. Anywho, we need to recover a stone from a site. This stone will allow us to actually see the angels and demons. The mission is short and sweet, with a seldom used map, which is nice. The boss and the custom group is simple, yet fits the theme of the arc.
Mission 2: I am now sent to a field of battle and asked to defeat the leaders of the two sides. Well, they turned out to be extremely difficult and I had to give up after a couple of tries of not even putting a dent in one of them before getting destroyed. I think both times I got about 3 attacks in before I was planted.
I was thinking 4 star up until the EB's at the end, but their difficulty made me downgrade to a 3 star rating.
I do think you have the beginning of a good story here. I would like to see this expanded upon, into a longer arc perhaps? There is clearly a pretty good story waiting to be told using this premise.
I'll give your other arc a shot at some point too. -

Name: The Roots of Domestic Terror
Arc#: 103955
Morality: definitely Villainous
Difficulty: easy-medium
Levels: 1-54
Enemies: Custom Group called Gregg's Guerillas, and all-natural powers military unit
Plot: You meet a being who hates humans and wants your help in creating as much terror and chaos as possible. In order to inflict the most damage, you'll need to get some serious weaponry. Fortunately, a suspected terrorist is currently in FBI custody awaiting trial. If only you could gain access to him....
[/ QUOTE ]
Lvl 50 Kat/Reg Scrapper (turned evil for this arc)
Mission 1: We have a domestic terrorist going to trial. Our job is to kidnap him from the feds, find out where he is keeping his stash of bombs and then dispose of him. Good villainy fun! The mission was fun as well. The custom group looked pretty decent - they were an array of US armed forces, they were a bit overdone for me, but not too bad.
Mission 2: Now we get really evil. The bombs we took from the prisoner in mission 1 are to be set up around the building were the US and Russia are meeting to discuss disarming their nuclear weapons with the explicit goal of killing everyone inside. The mission consisted of setting 6 bombs and stealing 3 painting for no other reason than the fact that they were there. The custom group seems overpowered, particularly the lieutenants. I didn't have much problem with a scrapper, but I can see people having some issues with them.
Mission 3: The bombs only half destroyed the building. there are some diplomats that survived. I am told to go in and get them, bring them outside and execute them for the world to see. Hard core. The mission has you 'rescue' 3 hostages and take them back out to the door, where you execute them on tv. I don't know why they wouldnt have 10000 guys there to stop you after the first one, but....
Obviously this is a controversial arc and very much NOT for everybody. I personally have no problem with pretty much any story line. The problem with it for me was that is was a little far-fetched. We are helping a demon contact kill human, for his pleasure and for a little profit for me. certainly there are better ways to make a few bucks...let the demon do his own dirty work. I wavered between a 3 and 4 for most of the arc as I was playing, but by the end I think it is a solid 4. The missions were to the point and pretty fun despite a little overpowered enemy action.
4 stars
edited to add: I also meant to say, as a drawback...the arc is more evil than villainy (if that makes sense to you) for my tastes. -

Arc 163005 - Rescue The Cabana Bois
This one is short and to the point. It has Cabana Bois, The Order Of The Bikini, cars wired to explode, coffins, and Tyrant. Enjoy it!
[/ QUOTE ]
I love short arcs that I can sneak in before I call it a night...Level 50 Katana/Regen.
Mission 1: What do Cabana Bois, The Order of the Bikini, Coffins, Wired Cars and Tyrant have in common? Nothing. There are about a dozen words of text and a totally random mission. Strangely enough, I was motivated to finish it because I was closing in on enough tickets for a gold roll. Sadly, I fell just short. Still, I was hoping for something, maybe a mission complete clue. Maybe some closing dialogue from the contact. I got: 'Thanks.' I would have thought this was just a farm mission, but the custom group was a little too tough for that to make sense.
If you just gave me something.....this could have gotten as high as 2 stars, maybe even a three if you could weave a good short story, but as it stands.....1 star. Really sorry. -

Arc Name: The Galactic Protectorate - 02
Arc ID#: 117281
Technnical Details: A little different this time around, there are still no "Defeat All" missions, but there are EBs and an AV at the end. However, I've added allies for each map with an EB or an AV, and I've been able to finish it in my tests solo, so there's shouldn't be a problem. However, I know I could improve it with some outside feedback, so whenever you're ready, I'd appreciate any advice on my Arc you can give!

Level 50 Katana/Regen...
Mission 1: Manticore is our contact for part 2 of this story, taking over from Synapse. I gave part one 5 stars, and I am looking forward to this one. Lord Cosmic is the head honcho. He has 12 generals below him, each of which has a bunch of soldiers. We are closing in on one of the generals and will be sent to Faultline. The mission was a good one. The dusty old lab created a nice atmosphere for the mission and the custom group just looks great, which is now expected from this author. The mission had a number of objectives, and I had to clear the map to do it. It was a little lengthy, but I think it worked fine. The clues were intriguing. As for the story, it is moving along nicely. The general wasn't there but we found out why she left: top secret orders to report somewhere just before we showed up.
Mission 2: In part one of this arc, Synapse sends me to save Manticore. This time, Manticore sends me in to save Synapse, who was tracking the general to a warehouse. Another fun mission here with back to back EB's, but with the help of Synapse the main bad guy was very easy. The other one was a fair challenge. We also find out that Sister Psyche is a prisoner (or reminded from part one?) and we have her location.
Mission 3: We are going in for SP and I am warned General Guinevere will be there, the ultimate challenge in this arc. Manticore advises he will meet me in there. I actually go after the general alone, just to test her out. She was very tough, and it took a few inspirations to finally defeat her. I then rescued Manticore and we found Sister P and rescued her. The story wraps up with Manticore telling me that the enemy finally finds the human resistance as a threat, and that the war against them has only now begun....which screams part 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Overall, this was a great second effort by the author. The sequel can never live up to the original, but this came pretty close. Despite being only 3 missions, they were lengthy but managed to keep them interesting throughout. Sometimes long missions can be a real drain. Not in this case. We have another well done custom group, but by the third mission I was starting to tire of them. If there is a downside to the arc, it is he feeling of the story not being really epic in scope. Basically, it is check one place, check another, save a couple heroes, defeat a couple EB's. It seems like a great segway from Part 1 into a much more epic Part 3 - where perhaps we deal the enemy some real damage. In this arc, we defeated 1 of 12 generals, that hardly puts a dent in them.
Probably a 4.5 star arc, but I'll round up to 5 tonight. -
[ QUOTE ]
Since you've already reviewed one of my Arcs and have another of my Arcs in your queue, I decided to run one of your Arcs tonight, Beach_Lifeguard!
Arc Name: PUG Hell
Character Used: Leve 48 Dual Blades / Willpower Scrapper
Mission 1:
The Story Arc contact is Back Alley Brawler, and from the mission introduction I can already tell that this is a "joke" Arc. Apparently, someone named "X-Porter" has been kidnapped while on a beer run, and my first task is to save all of X-Porter's alts. Obviously, this storyline isn't meant to be taken seriously, which is actually a nice change of pace from some of the other AE Story Arcs I've run.
I enter the mission, and am met with the "PUG Terrorists" whom are the main antagonists of this Arc. Based on stereotypical "bad" characters many players may meet when joining a pick up group, the "PUG Terrorists" are a unique custom enemy group, to say the least. The dialog between the PUG Terrorists and the hostages, however, could use some tweaking. Most of the dialog seemed like inside jokes that only those who know X-Porter in-game would "get", while the rest were stock phrases often spoken during "bad" pick up groups. I rescue the hostages, defeat the boss, and complete the misson.
Mission 2:
So, Back Alley Brawler has gotten a lead that one of the terrorists in an abandoned warehouse may have information about X-Porter's whereabouts. I go in, defeat everyone in the warehouse (including the boss), mission complete. Not much to say about this mission.
Mission 3:
So, the boss in the last mission gave up the location of the leader of the PUG Terrorists, but not his name. Walking into this mission, I make my way to the end, and find that "Big Bad" behind the kidnapping was... some guy named "Living Monument". According to his info, no one can stand teaming with Living Monument because of his horrible use of bad puns. I defeat Living Monument, and complete the mission as well as the Arc.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, this was a quick, fun Arc that doesn't take itself seriously at all. While there were some chuckle-worthy lines, the comedy seemed to be seriously lacking for an Arc like this. However, it's nice to see the concept of "bad PUGs" played around with, and this Arc did a pretty good job of doing that.
Final Score: 4 Stars
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks Mirror!!! That was nice of you to do. I know this has some insides jokes and originally it was meant for only X-Porter to play, but once I finished the custom group I liked them so much I thought it might be fun for others to play.
Now that X-Porter has played it, I really should update with some better humor and take out the inside jokes, maybe clean the story up a bit. Living Monument is X-Porter's main toon.....but I digress.
Thanks again! -
Thanks for the suggestions Joe. Are any of those your arcs that you want me to review though?

Arc 36492 : The Saga of Uuralur the Mirror.
Which appears to be the only arc containing Uuralur at the moment (and also appeared in the epic thread mentioned above).
I rated this * * *
Likes: The enemy group(s). Most of the story.
Dislikes: Throwing certain enemies into the mission just so there is an AV. The contact's powers. Could use more Uuralur background.
[/ QUOTE ]
I really enjoy seeing how other reviewers rated something that I played in my thread. In this case I had the exact same rating for slightly different reasons. The author seemed to disagree with me in a slightly snarky way.
Edit to add: The reason I mention this is because when I played it the arc had a 5 star rating with a lot of plays and I second guessed myself on my rating....
Keep up the good work. -
Hi Devious.
I reviewed one of your arcs in my thread, so if that counts for QPQ, here is one of mine:
Arc Name: The Revenge of Dr. Marcovici
Arc ID: 161797
Faction: Heroic
Difficulty Level: Average. One Elite Boss, but he is set to standard difficulty.
Synopsis: This is a story driven arc with a unique twist to it.
Halfway through the arc you have to make a decision on what your next action will be. Depending on your decision the arc plays out very differently for each of the 2 choices you have.
If you'd rather have me play another to qualify, let me know. -
Some stats:
I have reviewed 52 arcs so far with an average rating of 3.788.
I have rated 16 arcs as 5*
I have rated 15 arcs as 4*
I have rated 15 arcs as 3*
I have rated 6 arcs as 2*
I have rated 0 arcs as 1*.
But, in the last 26 reviews, I have only given out six 5* ratings, but four 2* ratings. I don't know if that means I am getting tougher on the reviews (maybe when deciding between 4 and 5 star) or the arcs are not as high quality as when the MA first was released (everyone had that one great idea, but now the ideas are lower quality?) or maybe it means nothing but randomness. -

Running this with Lvl 50 Katana/Regen Scrapper
Mission 1: Our contact is 'Angry Nemesis' and he is lowering himself to ask for help with one of his plans gone wrong. This is out of character for him, but we'll go with it since this is supposed to me a humorous arc. The mission si fairly straight forward against Crey and a custom Boss. the boss was annoyingly overpowered on defense.
Mission 2: A search and rescue in an Arachnos base, against the Arachnos. The plot only advanced a little bit here. We find out the list of names are the forum names of game developers and we know where they are located.
Mission 3: We are off to their warehouse to defeat the group named 'The Devs' but all we find are their hobo robots, or hobobots, if you will. The clues are supposed to be humorous, but it just doesn't do it for me. Humor is so subjective, I know, but I didn't find any of it very funny.
Mission 4: We are off to Dimension Z, a casino - the dialog from the contact here was pretty funny though, so at least I got some of the humor in this arc. The EB was way overpowered and his minions had end drain so I was helpless even after a few tries. There are not many EB's that prove impossible for this particular toon either...
Overall this was an average arc. The humor missed me, but that may be personal taste. A few of the custom critters were way overpowered (I don't mind a little overpowered, but this was excessive.) The custom group looked good, but they were really nothing special and we didn't get to see all that much of them. The missions themsevles weren't too bad, though the cargo ship turns a lot of people off I am sure.
I score this one a 3 star. -

Running this with a Level 17 BS/WP Scrapper.
Mission 1: Our contact provides vaccines to the youth in Grandville, but he is short on money. He knows an unethical businessman who he wants me to beat up to procure some additional funding. The mission was a very straightforward one, grab a glowie (the cash) and defeat the boss. The custom group was fine, they fit the theme of the arc, but were nothing special.
Mission 2: Our contact's vaccines have been hijacked and are aboard a cargo ship. We need to go in, retrieve the 3 cases and defeat this villain group's boss. Obviously we are on a cargo ship, with a new custom group. These guys look really good and hit really hard, at least against a Level 17 Scrapper. I was able to manage with only 2 deaths. The custom boss looked good, just wish he actually said something. The contact turns on you at the end.
Overall, if you are looking for a solid, short arc to run through, this is one you can knock out pretty quickly. I have no real issues with it, a good arc that gets 4 stars (but not great to get 5). Some people may be turned off by the ending. -

Mission 1: Phantasmal Threat is causing trouble in Cap, so my contact is asking me to go in there and take him out. He was pretty easy to take down. The custom group was pretty generic though.
Mission 2: Hix and NDX suddenly appear with no explanation as to who they are. We are supposed to go and track Terra Lord down in the sewers though, as he knows where NDX is. Why we are doing this is unknown at this point. One of the clues from Terra is blank. Otherwise it is a search and rescue operation.
Mission 3: The story seems to have cleared up a bit, but to me, it is not very interesting. The mission here is to beat iroxor (the author of the arc). He is an EB, but its doable with this toon. The rest of the custom group is again very generic.
Overall there wasn't much to this arc. The story needs work (and I think it is actually a work in progress). The story needs to be more direct, stay with on idea and follow it through. The custom groups need more character to them and better naming. The missions aren't bad though. At this point it is only 2 stars because it is incomplete. -

Mission 1: OK, so our contact is part of Ravenheart, a villain group. Their leader has been attacked by Rikti and they have lowered themselves to asking for outside help. By the way, the custom contact looks excellent! The mission was pretty good, a standard Rikti mission on an office building that goes to caves.
Mission 2: The Rikti are back on the attack, planting bombs in the Ravenheart's base. Usually I would be down on a defeat all in a larger sized map, but this worked just fine. Some of the Ravenhearts were down there cleaning up with me. Good mission.
Mission 3: Ok, we recovered a piece of a map in mission 1. Somehow they have located the other piece of it in a Rikti base and there might be CoT there as well. In we go...and it is a pretty large map to have to find a glowie in, especially if you miss it at first. Otherwise the mission was fine.
Mission 4: The map is complete and we know the location of the Dread Priestess - although I am not too clear on why the Ritki want her. The mission was set up very nicely for a final mission with the glowie and the appearance of your ally and the EB right nearby.
Overall this was a fun arc to play through. The story got a little muddled at the end with the Priestess. This is a very strong 4 star arc, maybe even 4.5 stars. Good job. -

Mission 1: Sharks with laser beams, excellent! The mission was as simple as can be: click 5 glowies then beat a boss. The sharks were a little small for the lasers though. Too bad.
Mission 2: So the shark thing didn't work out too well, but now our contact has discovered the location of the Malleus Mundi. We are off to retrieve it. The mission was an Oranbaga map with a Scooby-Doo theme. I don't see where that fits in at all, particularly the boss who comes after you.
Mission 3: So, our first two missions did not go quite as planned. Pretty humorous so far. This time we are going to try and take control of a huge Council Robot that they are building under the volcano in Striga. The mission was fine, a standard Council base map.
Mission 4: Finally, we get to fight our contact for screwing up every mission so far...and we get to fight the sharks with laser beams. Not sure why we had to exemp down to do it though.
Overall I really liked the idea behind this arc. The whole Scooby-Doo thing was totally unnecessary and the last mission was maybe too quick for the last mission. I had fun playing this for the most part. I don't think it deserves a 5, but this is a very solid 4 star arc. I recommend people give it a try. -

Arc Name: The Saga of Uuralur the Mirror

Difficulty level: This arc was designed to be fought in a team due to the 3 EBs/AVs and the relatively tough mobs. I'm sure some of the stronger built players could solo it, but even then, a team would certainly be much more fun.
The enemies consists of : Reflections, Circle of Thorns, Banished Pantheon, Carnies, and a few customs.
There are 4 missions, but they all have various objectives and I suggest around 45 minutes to 1 hour on a big team. My Task Force focuses a lot on City of Heroes lore, and especially the Aspects of Rularuu the Ravager.
I''m looking for more reviews and feedback, and if I get enough positive reception, I may be tempted to do another Aspect of Rularuu TF!
Thanks!

Attempting this with a Level 50 Katana/Regen Scrapper
Mission 1: The contact is from the Shadow Shard and wants help hurting the Reflections and Rularuu. His friend and daughter have been kidnapped and we are off to find some clues. The mission is on an Oranbaga map with a custom group. They all use dark armor so it was hard to get a good look at them. The objective was to defeat 3 bosses. The bosses were tough to defeat. The mission is not solo friendly for many classes of heroes. Decent mission though.
Mission 2: We have to fight carnies now. To be honest, by the time I finished the mission, I had a hard time remembering exactly why I went in there. The mission was a bit strange. I was fighting my way along the streets of the outdoor carnie map when all of a sudden a battle spawned between carnies and reflections. There were a bunch of objectives without much reasoning behind them.
Mission 3: The big bad is now targeting magical groups in Paragon City. We are going in to save Adamastor. There was supposed to be a battle between custom Paragon Protectors and Banished Pantheon, but the BP never stood a chance. I saw 2 of them in the entire mission. The end boss was much harder than the EB.
Mission 4:The final mission is to stop Uuralur from bringing back Rularuu. It is a defeat all in a large map. An EB and a couple of bosses are all grouped together. They drop confuse and terrorize and who knows what else. I forfeited.
Overall this arc had a few missions that were fun to get started, but the last one was not very fun at all. The story very simplistic and not very interesting. Mobs were mostly way overpowered. This arc has 52 plays with a 5 star average, so it is probably just me missing something, but I see it as a 3.5. I have to grade down to a 3 because the final room was extremely frustrating. I know you suggested a team, but I think it is clear I am running all of these solo.

After re-reading my review on Memory-X I should clarify that the story itself didn't fizzle. The telling of the story is what I had a problem with. It got wrapped up in a lot of confusing details and dialogue. If you kept it simpler, it might have worked better for me.
