I did the first respec at 24, the second at 33. I got no respec option for the second time around however. Leery won't talk to me. However my partner did the first respec twice, failed it the first time, beat it the second time and got him to talk and give her a mission.
There must be another badge related to it.
::edit::
I compared badges with her. the only ones she has that I don't are Soul Binder (CoT mages) and Finder (Lost). (not including any gladiator badges or souveniers)

The Dominion
Legion of Freedom is proud to unveil The Dominion as its villainous counterpart and are now recruiting. Visit us at our website to find out more information about our concept and register for our forums. A number of events are planned for the future and we look forward to seeing all of you in-game. -
You should also mention that Snow Storm also brings down Flyers. It's very handy.

I revised and posted my new Fire/Energy Guide.
It can be found here in the Player's Guides section under Fire/Energy Blaster Guide, by Bayani
I decided to update the guide to correct grammar issues, update the guide to reflect the Suppression changes, included more commentary to reflect the versatility and range of Fire/Energy builds. I hope all you potential Fire/Energy blasters find it useful. -

The All Range AR/Fire Blaster Guide
my first guide, so its not great, but I don't see any other guides for AR/Fire other than blapper guides so I though I would write this up.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh, my AR/Fire blaster isn't a blapper guide, but it is posted in the first section. -
It think villains should get two toggles, one at level 20 and one at level 40.
Level 20- The Monologue
By activating this toggle, the Villain character goes through several motions and gestures such as clenching his fist, leering at a hero etc. Having this as a toggle (which will have a very long recharge time) will allow the player to type his text without having to stop and put emotes.
Level 40- The Tirade
Now that the villain is more infamous and probably unstable, this should be similar to the Monologue, but be accompanied by auras and effects like lightning in the background, glowing eyes. Pacing, grand gestures, like holding up a powerful looking item or the key to some grandious plan... -
Why thank you, it's always nice to be appreciated.
Anyhow, as a single target Fire/Energy blaster, I have the following attacks in my chain...
Fire Primary
Fire Blast
Fireball
Blaze
Energy Manipulation
Energy Punch
Bonesmasher
Total Focus
That's 6 attacks right there, and with Perma-Hasten I use pretty much only four...Energy Punch, Fire Blast, Blaze and Bonesmasher. If it's a small group of minions I'll lead off with a Fireball, if there's a Boss, I'll sneak in for the Total Focus first. So as far as slotting goes, it's really dependent on how I use Aim and Build Up. Bonesmasher, Blaze, Total Focus, and Fireball I use with either Aim or Build Up most of the time...so I only put one accuracy there. However, Energy Punch and Fire Blast are my finishers mostly, so I don't need a whole lot of damage there because they're used for enemies who are in the red, so to speak. However, those enemies I want finished off ASAP because after all a blaster's best defense is a dead enemy. So I slot those two powers with 2 accuracies, because the extra damage is most of the time overkill for me.
And with a solid attack chain in place already, there's no real need for me to use Blazing Bolt as a minion killer. Hence, the Bayani Sniper loadout. -
Excellent work, has much more than I put into my guide.
As far as Blazing Bolt goes, you could put this as a suggestion for slotting...
Bayani Loadout: 1-2 Acc, 1 Decrease Interrupt, 2-4 Range.
Despite Blazing Bolt being a high damage sniper attack and having the shortest range of all the sniper attacks, I decided to concentrate on using it as my main pulling technique. Why?
1) It has inherent accuracy. I don't even bother using Aim or Build Up with it.
2) Range. You'll get alot of bang for your buck with Range enhancers on this thing. the further back you are, the less likely your target's cronies will tee off on you also. Plus with the added range, it means you're more likely to find some obstacle to use to break line of sight.
I recommend this for people who decide to go Fire/Energy single target. You already have 5-6 attacks for a solid attack chain...Blazing Bolt adds utility to your sneaky blapping ways. -
Flame Like Me! A Complete and Comprehensive Guide to Fire Blasting, by Flaming1
FYI It's not written by me...but linked here so it's not forgotten. -

Never waste an attack.
There's a difference between arresting fast and arresting efficiently. If an enemy has a sliver of health, don't come flying in with a Total Focus. Energy Bolt him and move on. Use the right attack for the right situation.
An efficient offense is a balanced one that can attack from any range. Don't be afraid to move into melee to use Blaze or Power Burst, or Bonesmasher to finish your assailant. Melee attacks are fast and deadly.
Keep moving and always remember where the exits are.

I have a level 35 fire controller that I built without much help but alot of what gale says I discovered to be true on my own. Nice work on the guide, Brimstone.
I'm Matches Malone, and I approve of this guide. -

Seriousness now.. Let me give a little warning. "Be carefull what you wish for. You might just get it." I am trying to find a delecate way to put this, but I have failed. I guess I will just come right out and say it then. If you guys get "to good" then every other AT will start breathing down your necks again. Cries of "City of Blasters!" will fall from the sky once more.

The overpowered nature of Blasters during issues 1 and 2 had been addressed by two things: The fixing of Smoke Grenade and the Purple Patch. Majority of blasters that came out in generation 1 were AR or Fire/Devices and everyone pretty much followed what RSRobinson promoted in terms of powerleveling. After that, Tanks and Scrappers got boosts to their damage and got their defenses tweaked. The only thing notable that happened to blasters during that time was the removal of status protection from Burn.
In reality, there was only one real problem that was Blaster-specific. The purple patch was added to make the whole game more difficult. It seems however, that while the game got more difficult for blasters, the tankers and scrappers were tweaked (and I'd say overly tweaked) to adjust to the new enemies. I've met and played with tons of tankers in the post level 35 world, and all of them at some point during our battles have cracked a joke about leaving the keyboard to go take a dump or make a sandwich. -
Especially when they stack it on you and continue to stack it.

Their range is just f'd right the hell up.
[/ QUOTE ]
And half their damn shots are cone attacks. Nothing like one of them fighting the tank across a room, and spamming you with bullets too.
[/ QUOTE ]
And even if you do dip into power pools to boost your defense, it doesn't apply to cones or AoEs.
But the Malta Group are just one giant conspiracy filled with evil cheater-heads.

I have seen many a broadcast asking for "Team needs a defender!"
[/ QUOTE ]
No you haven't. You may have seen, "Team looking for a healer", but that translates to "Controller/Defender who is Empathy primary".
[/ QUOTE ]
Listen to Erratic about this one. Or better yet go look in the Defender Forum. Search Key Words: "r u healer?" It suprised me too, but a lot of Defenders are recruited for a team zones-apart and then kicked off a team as soon as they make the trek to the zone the team lead is in and the Lead finds out their Primary, especially Team leads who are blasters or building the team for their Blaster friend.
REDICULOUS...how hard is it to righclick a Defender's name in the 'Find' box and pick the "chat" option and ask them "What's your Primary?" first before inviting them and then crucifying them for not taking Empath?
[/ QUOTE ]
But then, such players are fools. Empathy is nice, but most other sets can defend a blaster just as well, sometimes better. I personally like Kinetic's types, though any defender is welcome.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed, I prefer to have a defender with preemptive, proactive powers than a one where powers are activated on a reaction basis. A bubble is easier and safer to implement than waiting and hoping a defender will notice you're in the red and single target heal you. There's more of a chance for that heal to come too late than there is a chance that an attack slips through that bubble. -
Here is a link to my response that it's just my "perception" that the Fire Manipulation pool is weaker than Devices or Energy as a secondary.
Fire Manipulation vs. Statesman's defined Role of a Blaster -
Let's put it this way...My level 35 Fire/Storm controller duo'd the Manticore TF with a level 34 Ice/Kinetics controller. And at the end? the Ice/Kinetics controller believed that I could've taken on the AV all by my lonesome. My blaster could never do anything like that and you can make the argument that my controller is a not a power build.
-
More often than not though, you find yourself on teams of 4-5 people than 7-8. And it seems that every team I've joined had a fire tanker or a fire/illusion controller on it which seem to pretty much deal a fair amount of damage to make my presence superfluous.

Well we can do that, I would love to have a few different high level Blasters help me test out some aggro theories. We can even hunt in PI and find large groups and see. I will get a date/time here ASAP.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ooooor, we can do wolves missions. :P Kidding. If you want to hunt to do it, that's cool. We should try to do some missions too. -

[ QUOTE ]
Teaming on the other hand was a different matter. It was a large 'train' mission, lots of mobs. Difficult to hold all the aggro.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is something I would like to test out in a team situation too. If I can find ways to hold aggro in the 10 second period, I am going to add the methods to my upcoming Invuln/SS guide. The only thing skewing it will be my huge Punch-Voke at 50. But if I can get a 50ish Blaster to team with me, and possibly other 50s too, to test this, I will post how I held aggro, or failing it, how I lost it.

Hello- level 50 blaster with a penchant for AOE.
