Quote:It actually makes sense when you view politics as a two-dimensional field instead the outdated one-dimensional spectrum that the politicians and pundits still use. Then you see that the closer you get to totalitarianism the lines get blurred.Funny thing when you look at Mussolini's facism in comparison with modern politics, as Mussolini was origionaly a socialist, it actualy sits to the left of most mainstream modern parties (even Obama), and right of socialism and comunism, yet both the "right" and "left" wing parties in the US and UK refer to fascism as the opposite of their own supposed leanings.
And i hate Nazis being called nationalistic, as they were obsessed with race and religeon, rather than nation and state.
Nationalism was actually the wedge issue that they used to gain power. Race and religion justified their abuses afterward, but they used the depression and the general malaise after the Treaty of Versailles to first get the masses under their umbrella. -
Quote:You make a good point. Conservatives today continually say that the Nazis were "socialists" because it was a part of thier party name (National Socialist Party) but in truth they were more nationalistic than socialistic, especially in the beginning. The Nazi Party were fascist in nature, as was Mussolini's army/state.
I believe the Council is loosely based on Mussolini, brought forward.
Plus the Arbiter system as has been set up and utilized today in the Rogue Isles is more like a kleptocracy than an organized hierarchy. -

Marketing never wanted people to get butt-capes.
-
Marketing created the Rikti Monkeys that caused the recent updates to fail.

Wait a minute! You mean to tell me that there's actually a department called MARKETING? And this MARKETING thing is supposed to help PROMOTE the whole experience to... OTHER PEOPLE? Not just to ourselves?
Wow, that's an incredible idea! And you say that there are other companies that DO this sort of stuff? Well that explains why I'm seeing a lot of Mr. T on the flatscreen of late hawking something called a Mohawk Grenade.
... Sorry, someone handed me a saracsm inspiration and I had to see how it worked. -

Marketing turned me into a newt!
"A NEWT?!?"
...
... I got better...
(Sorry, HAD to do it since we were on the marketing kick.) -
Quote:Oh I am SO Faving that and embedding it in the Chronicles!Yep, it's true. Discovery had a new Boom De Yada song, so I had to thoroughly Coh it.

Ashcraft, you ROCK! -

Since my signature character is supposed to be a battle-damaged survivor of the Omega Team, it's only right he should have something in the Time Capsule as well.
Here is his Time Capsule letter. -
It depends on the character. Some characters would benefit hefting the axe. Others, especially the more melee characters, would do better with the Sands.

SUPERB work D_R!!!!! Simply outstanding! I've already put the kudos out on the Chronicles.

Issue 4 of the "Guardians of the Dawn Spotlight" series is now online.
This issue focuses on Captain Paragonna, the leader of the Guardians of the Dawn supergroup and a member of the Paragon Police Department. Someone is bringing up her past and threatening to make her identity public. Who is behind it, and why? And is there anything the Captain can do about it?
Also I have a new website for the Guardians where you can find all of the stories, including the "Issue 0" text-only story that started it all. -
Quote:I like this idea!!This may just be a UK thing - the saying goes that you spend ages waiting for a bus and then three come along at once. Not sure about the six. But it's a definite saying.
Having said that, due to the absence of buses in PC and RI, how about you log out at a bus stop and receive the 'Loiterer' or 'Time Waster' badge instead? -

I've decided to come up with some pointers about dealing with a few certain opponents in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.
This first one is about dealing with Tsoo Sorcerers in solo missions.
Hope some of this information is helpful. -
I am proud to announce that Issue #3 is now out.
(Clicking on image will take you directly to the file. Sorry, PDF format only.)
This issue focuses on MidKnight X, the dark guardian of Kings Row. What is his secret? What makes him so dangerous?
Also the much anticipated confrontation between Lyon Powers and Galatea Powers is finally here. What happens? Find out!
There is something else that I added to this issue that I forgot to do with the other 2. You'll find out when you get to it. -
-
Thanks. Actually the Rikti Invasion came right as I started working with the character on the scene, so I decided to run with the idea.
Issue #3 just finished, so that will be up shortly. -
How about accessing Mission Architect?

Quote:The question I would ask first is... are you looking for suggestions for changes in the game to make it enjoyable? Or are you looking for things RIGHT NOW that you can do to make it enjoyable?I've sensed I've lost some interest in the game over the past 9 months myself, so I thought I'd hit the forums for a little inspiration.
...
I still like this game, I'm just looking for suggestions to make it enjoyable again.
The "RIGHT NOW" part is easy... create some original Architect Missions and run them. Take some time, come up with some original creations, develop some stories... is there a story that you wanted to do differently? Maybe add your own twist to it?
If you can wait a little while, there is always "Going Rogue" when it comes out... in 2010. A whole new world full of new content and challenges to play with.
If you're thinking changes made to the game to make it enjoyable... well I would suggest finding a way to contact the developers directly (i.e. Hero Con) and coming up with some ideas, because going to the "Suggestions and Ideas" forum right now is sort of like turning to Bernie Madoff for investment advice. In fact I'm sorely tempted to suggest that the forum be renamed "Frustrations and Griefers" to better reflect what it has become. -

Okay, first of all, I know this is a totally wishful idea, but I was discussing the game with a former player from the EU servers and he made a comment about the movie "Blade Runner". The idea then popped up about one of the things from the movie, which was the floating billboards.
So the question then became why couldn't we have that now in Paragon City? How about having "The Spirit of Freedom" blimp (currently seen in Atlas Park) carry some billboards on either side of it? Maybe even have smaller floating billboards in places like Talos Island, Steel Canyon, and Founder's Falls. They could even have something like it over some of the areas in the Rogue Isles. I can easily envision an Arachnos recruitment poster hovering in Cap au Diable or Grandville.
(We'll skip over the idea of making them landable right now... would like to see it, but then again I'd also like to have the alts ride on top of the other moving objects.)
What do you think guys?
