Guardians of the Dawn Comic Book

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that my first-ever comic book is done and availible for folks to read.

The series is called "Guardians of the Dawn Spotlight" and it focuses on specific members of the Guardians of the Dawn supergroup on the Guardian server.

Issue Number One focuses on Galatea Powers, one of the three so-called "exile" characters that found themselves over in the "City of" universe. How they got here will be explained in Issue 2.

I enjoyed the spotlight story in and of itself Battle.
Those predefined speech bubble templates are a real turn off though. I don't think it helps having seperate paragraphs of exposition inside a single balloon either, trying to read them feels like running into a wall of text...

I look forward to a second issue though to find out more in regards to how the Exiles came to CoX and how this thread with Lyon Powers will play out.

Yes, the CCC is still active. Sin_Stalker is sort of the group organizer/cheerleader, so you might PM him if you're interested in getting involved.

All of the CCC members, so far as I know, use either Comic Life (mentioned above) or Comic Book Creator. There was a contest some years back now sponsored in part by Comic Book Creator, which means that a lot of CoX comic makers use it. I'm not sure if the program is still supported or not, honestly. As you can see by the link in my signature, their site has been passed from hand to hand so many times that it's no longer even in the hands of a comic book-focused organization. (Also, you can see from the comic linked there that resizing fonts can become a problem on publication in that program, so it's not without its flaws.)

This issue focuses on Ryder Lightning, the second member of the so-called "Guardian Exiles". If you think you know who he is supposed to be, you might be in for a bit of a surprise.

Also the adventures of Lyon Powers continue as talks with Back Alley Brawler as well as deal with a group of untimely intruders.

This second spotlight was a much tighter read Battle, I fairly enjoyed it. Power customisation seems to have arrived at just the right time for Ryder Lightning!

Unfortunately, the Lyon Powers section was more disjointed. I'm not really sure there was a point to a Rikti invasion taking place, and as a result I feel slightly cheated that the story pages it took up could have been used to advance the plot of her upcoming encouter with Galatea. Roll on #3 for that...

Thanks. Actually the Rikti Invasion came right as I started working with the character on the scene, so I decided to run with the idea.

Issue #3 just finished, so that will be up shortly.

This issue focuses on MidKnight X, the dark guardian of Kings Row. What is his secret? What makes him so dangerous?

Also the much anticipated confrontation between Lyon Powers and Galatea Powers is finally here. What happens? Find out!

There is something else that I added to this issue that I forgot to do with the other 2. You'll find out when you get to it.

Issue 4 of the "Guardians of the Dawn Spotlight" series is now online.



This issue focuses on Captain Paragonna, the leader of the Guardians of the Dawn supergroup and a member of the Paragon Police Department. Someone is bringing up her past and threatening to make her identity public. Who is behind it, and why? And is there anything the Captain can do about it?

Also I have a new website for the Guardians where you can find all of the stories, including the "Issue 0" text-only story that started it all.

Oh yeah... Midnight Arachnia being accused of treason... having to flee the country... showing up at Mercy Island and we all find out that she's related to Matthew Burke.

So what happens next? That's where Issue 8 comes in.

Yes it's part 2 of the "Limelight" story, and so much gets revealed because of it! We have co-stars and guest appearances and a lot of action!
