Thank you all, I made an agility one. What a bizarre, nonsensical system.
You CONVERT 4 widgets into 3 different doodads, then CREATE one enhancement. Why one of those is called a conversion and one a creation is beyond me... Also, why not just set the price of the doodad at 12 widgets?
Why not just use the crafting system already in place?
Anyway, now that I can find those well hidden menus, I can piece together the system.
Thank you! -
Through the trial. I read all the messages, basically they say, it unlocks the alpha slot which buffs all your powers.
Ok, that's great. So where do I get this enhancement? I don't see it for sale on the AH or any vendor. I don't see an option to make it at the university. I haven't gotten a recipe for one yet (and it's been a decent chunk of time, maybe they are just rarer than I expected).
I will log back on and look under powers (clearly the logical place to craft an enhancement), thank you for the information. That guide is one of the things I read, it has piles of information but no process. What do I do to get this enhancement?
Also which should I make for my first one for an ice tanker? I am anxious to get this thing made since I am (apparently) worthless at level 50 without it.
If I sound frustrated it's because I am. I have been on 5 of these incarnate raids, and never found a single person who would explain anything (either regarding the raid or this alpha slot) other than I am worthless without it. Which would seem accurate since all that happens is I die 10x trying to stay with the group before I just give up and stay dead and watch tv till the raid ends, assuming the reward I get will eventually mean something. -
I am trying to read paragon wiki and the posts here, but honestly, none of these make any sense to me. They all seem to assume I know what the heck this incarnate system is.
I don't.
I am a 50 ice tanker, I have my alpha slot unlocked. I have run some things and gotten some incarnate related rewards which I have no idea what they are.
What should I be doing? People in game are incredibly unhelpful, and the articles in paragon might as well be written in a foreign language. -
Same here, guess down time starts 3 hours early. Typical Cryptic...

I am really enjoying my time hero side on the server, trials keep firing, TF's going off frequently, PUGS running missions...
When I play villain side it seems a ghost town. I occasionally see other players, but no grouping seems to happen. Trials pop in about twice the wait time, but nothing else I see. Just bad luck or is the majority of the grouping population blue side here? -
Just returning player, and my SG has left the server. Are there any global channels for groups and TF's on infinity?
-
I turn it off. It turns itself back on. Any solutions?
-
Ok, I was hoping one of the patron powers would do the job, but it doesn't sound like any of them would do it. I use Hurricane, buts its often cumbersome or not the right area for it.

I am looking for a way to help my Tornado (/Storm) do more damage. Not to mention KB lowers the damage from my Arsonist also (Thugs/)
There are plenty of times I like the knockback, I am just looking for a power which will let me not have it at times also. -
Title says it all. I am looking for a way to prevent the knockback from my tornado.

Mind/Ta is my favorite toon. So many holds its not funny. The Ice arrow gives you a near instant boss hold which is up all the time, used in combination with one of the AOE's and you can lock down two bosses in seconds (ice arrow, AOE hold, dominate a second one).
In high level groups, one of your AOE controls will be ready every fight (for me I just alternate between Mass Confusion and AOE Hold), so I open with that. Then fire one or two of the TA AOE debuffs and get to chomping through the bosses. -
If you think the set is weak simply don't play it. My only real gripe with Mind is that my AOE attack (Terrify) lowers the damage of my other AOE attack (Mass Confusion).
Mind has the best ST attack chain of the controllers, though with FF you are lacking an immobilize to set up containment on AV's.
Another option is take a different secondary, as FF is the lowest damage secondary there is for controllers (I think, hard to imagine anything lower).
If you want a game that gives you enough freedom to make the powersets do exactly what you want them do, then you are going to be waiting a long time. A certain competitor of CoH will get you closer, but still far from all the way. -
Anyone with some experiences please let me know the plusses and minuses...
Why do some sets have 4 powers and some have 5? -
You could make a blastermind and get to 50 solo (obviously you could do it teamed too). But whats the point? To prove how simple it is to level in CoH?
Why not go whole hog and just take your mandatory attack and 3 secondary powers and just take pool powers?
You would be able to do it, but I don't know what you have proven.
You have chosen to gimp yourself beyond any reasonable standard, so if you group, you have a responsibility to inform the group before you join. Chances are they will take you anyway, I likely would as the support pools are so powerful in big groups that you would be useful even in this state. -
Thugs/ Storm here. How do you reccommend slotting Tornado? Pure PvE player. I have plenty of slots as I don't take any of the attacks in Thugs.
-
The price seems a tad high to me (just a bit), but giving the free ones MORE than compensates for that.
Great stuff guys. -
What is the difference between this and just /ignore?

I'm torn here.
1. I really appreciate having the boss come here and give an explanation. You rarely get that from gaming companies.
2. I'm really annoyed something that is a substantial nerf in most situations (It will be worse for the people who use 3 enhancments), is being framed dishonestly. Its not just an error of omission, as all the talk about these changes matches up with the wrong numbers, not the corrected numbers.
This is a large nerf for a month+. If a month+ is no big deal, then how about we don't have to pay for that month? Its a big deal...
P.S. I am not currently playing any character who uses accuracy debuff (My DDD has been sidelined for a long time), I just feel bad for all those who do. -
Whats really sticking in my craw (sp?) about this is no mention of Entangleing Arrow. This is the worst "Must Take" power in the entire game (for MM and COntroller version).
Horrid animation time compounded with a delay between hitting and the effect actually going off.
THe other single target immobilizes do either damage (nothing too great, but still helps) or have -recharge (like web grenade). And none seem to suffer the same effect lag, nor have the animation time (which I assume is compenstaed for with +ACC).
Look at the thread in General on worst power sets. Is their any debate this is the worst Defender Primary and MM secondary? (Controller version is arguable with the nice second hold syngery and the containment benefit of Entangleing Arrow)
I appreciate Castle coming here and speaking on it, but how long does it take to see, "Wow this Power Set stinks? Let me look at each power for one hour and see how it can be brought up to par". Is one day too much time to ask to fix a portion of your game which is desperatly needing? -
I was so excited when I saw this thread in Dev Digest. Thank God, I thought. The darn set was finally getting fixed.
Without an reference to more improvements coming, this is a huge dissapointment.
Are you devs so far out of touch with this game that you think this is all TA needs? (I have never played Archery set).
I have long since given up on my TA Defender and MM. (Its ok as a controller secondary as it syngerizes nicely). However I feel for these guys. I groan to myself whenever a TA character joins my PUG. It means to me, no matter good of a player this person is, he will not be able to hold up his end.
I'm not asking for you guys to go nuts and do what you did to Dark Miasma, that was clearly overboards, and that set has been slowly pulled back to a reasonable power level.
Add to this that FLash Arrow (a power I liked more than most) is about to get nerfed (not sure how this will balance out with the I7 def changes).
All you TA folks out there, you have my sympathy and a spot on my teams. Fortunatly the game is easy enough for a few a good players with bad powers to not mess up a team.
