I just wanted to check something which seemed a bit... off.
Day 1 - did 1 tip mission, gained 1/10 in the vill bar and 1/5 in the fame bar
Day 2 - fame bar empty, did 5 tips, now at 6/10 villain and 5/5 fame
Day 3 - fame bar empty, did 4 tips, now at 10/10 villain and 4/5 fame... no morality mission available, but had another standard tip mission drop.
Did the last tip mission, now 10/10 villain and 5/5 fame. Morality mission then appeared in contact tip list as now available. This makes it appear as if you need a full fame bar as well as a full villain bar to get your morality mission. Bugged or WAI?
Also, maybe to add to the guide...what's the recharge for the Frenzy power (and related powers) or is it a one shot power? -
Thanks, folks! I post, leave for vacation, and come back to this happy news. Wheeee! Good fun!
PM sent to Avatea. -

Quote:Heh, who knew we had brethren on another server? The Justice Force has been active since May 31st, 2004 on the Champion server, and are currently ranked #31 on the Top 100 Prestige earning SGs for the server. The JF has been under my leadership since the beginning and has always been active with many members fighting crime in Paragon City.
The Justice Force on Virtue server was founded prior to launch and remains in existence today. While our activity has waned over time, we remain an active SG. The original leaders have largely retired, but still show their faces from time to time. I am one of the current co-leaders (@Quasar Lad). The Justice Force joined the Repeat Offenders Network in late 2007, and has been a happy coalition partner ever since. -
Quote:Good to know, L_T. Would be nice if they removed that info from CoD, as it just adds confusion. I built my Bots/Pain to be softcapped to Ranged and AoE, but that presumed Disp Bubble. Pretty hard to get there without it and not wreck the build completely. Its a old power from beta, Prot bots used to have dispersion bubbles, but the devs thought that was too powerful (for good reason), but instead of deleted it, they just made it so the prot bots will never use it.
Also one Bubble for you is WAI, they dont want robot MMs getting 20% free defense.
Ah well. -
Quote:Thanks for the clue regarding using Unspecified...works much better.http://www.redtomax.com/data/powers/...astermind_Pets
I know the thing you're talking about on redtomax; click the tab that has "Mastermind" in it and change it to "Unspecified." For most stuff that works, for others it will give you a strange number and you have to figure out how it works (i.e. for defense it might give you "0.75%" and you have to realize that actually means 7.5%, so move the decimal one space the right; sometimes it's not that simple though).
NOW, for another related and extremely key question.
Per Red Tomax, with Upgrade the Prot Bots receive Dispersion Bubble as one of their powers. I was rather counting on that for extra defense and mez prot. However, I've have Upgrade for several levels now and I've NEVER seen them throw up a Dispersion Bubble. Is this a bug, or a change, or a misprint/mistaken piece of data on CoD?
Further, although they will place a Force Shield each on every other bot for a total of two, they will only Force Shield me once. WAI or a bug? -
I've encountered this a number of times, and it's most annoying.
I order the bots to Def/Attack my target, but then it becomes clear that the aggro is a bit too heavy and I'm likely to take serious injury, so I switch mid-combat to Def/Follow and they switch to inert piles of metal, taking damage all the while.
There seems to be a several second lag while the AI gets used to the fact that we're still under attack and they need to respond. Happens a lot. Luckily the BG part of the command seems to kick in immediately.
Also, I can't help but notice that once in combat the pets have a TERRIBLE time responding to Goto. Def/follow, combat in progress, bad guy runs, bots run after him.
"STOP I say, STOP! Def/Goto next to me!" Bots still running away. Hit the command 10 more times. Bots repeatedly do the hokey pokey, taking a few steps towards me and then trying to run after the bad guy again. Takes a severe effort and much mouse clicking to get them to relent and by then it's usually too late.
This sort of behavior makes it nearly impossible to avoid aggro-ing other mobs. Goto seems to be largely over-ridden by the AI's desire to KILL/CHASE!
Seems poor coding to me. There should be nothing short of the apocalypse that should over-ride a goto command. The whole point is to keep them at range! -
Howdy fellow MM fans. This question is really basic.
I'm looking for the real numbers on all the Bots' abilities, shields, attacks, missile patches, all that great stuff and especially stuff they get with Equip and Upgrade. Normally I would get this info from Red Tomax's CoD, but over the last few months large sections of CoD seem to give errors with no data, such as:
"Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /usr/local/share/www/cox/includes/coh/effect.class.php on line 248
0 Smashing damage"
Does anyone have stashed away the real numbers for all the Bots' powers, especially the ones obtained from Upgrade and Equip, that they could post?
Thanks in advance! -
While folks have keyed in on the Cairns of the DE as a pain in the neck, and they are, I tend to find the DE Guardians and their Quartz eminators most annoying. Unless your survival is purely resist-based, ONE single Quartz sitting anywhere in the area and the team gets shredded like tissue paper. :P
It is notable that CoT start off horrible from the get-go, transition through semi-horrible, and end up relatively trivial in the end-game. Once you get past the spawn levels for spectrals and earth thorns things mellow out quite a bit.
I concur with most of the things mentioned thus far as being very ebil, and also with the assessment that it's ALL about the AT.
Ranged or melee, lockdown or stealth, defense or resist, there's something out there that has your number...big time.
However there are some mobs that honestly it doesn't matter what you are. They are either annoying or deadly or both...plain and simple.
In this category I put KoA. 'Trops/stun/webnades and +Perception along with a tendency to launch ambushes from half-way across the map... if I see a mission with Knives, I look for the fastest way to finish it. Some troller/dom types get off easier, but not always. Also Vanguard, for the reasons mentioned previously. -
Are there any plans in the works to allow precise customization for ambush makeup? Said customization would also let us adjust the ambush for party size and difficulty ratings.
For example, I'd really prefer not to get 4 EBs in the ambush when what I wanted was 1 specific EB and a supporting cast. -
Resurrecting this thread to ask a question.
Is the presence of Offer the Soul of Akarist in the Wiseguy range in Oro not a bug? Given that the contact is only available in the 25-29 range, shouldn't the badge mission for him be in the same range rather than 30-34?
Point being, at lvl 32 I can't do the mission, since I've outleveled Tarixus but am not high enough to run it in Oro.
Most annoying. Unless I hear otherwise from you folks I'll bug it directly to a dev and in-game. Shouldn't have to wait 3 more levels to 35 or hunt up someone with mission just to get Demonic. -
Interesting...while SS/SJ/CJ and Ninja Run are mutually exclusive, when I tested it turns out Hover and Ninja Run are fine together, with both remaining toggled on.
Doing a running jump, flipping, and then hanging in mid-air - very cool. Detoggle Hover and keep on trucking.
Want to comment again on the effects that accompany running and jumping backwards...just too cool. The full-layout backflip alone is amazing.
Someone mentioned that bow + NR is cool, and so it is, but I am getting some substantial clipping with the bow. Mostly with the cape, but some with the side/back. -
Among the awesome things about Ninja Run on a Katana/SR:
1) Running with the katana out is supremely cool. Point down at the side in the classic pose when running, sword-arm wraps around body with jump/flip. Just great.
2) When you run backwards you turn towards the camera and run while peeking over your shoulder.
3) Jumping backwards leads to a FULL LAYOUT BACKFLIP! *squeeeeee!*
Also, with Quickness(1 IO)+Hurdle(1 IO)+Sprint(1 IO)+NR my lvl 39 has Run Speed 50 mph and Jump 57 mph. Not quite up to the capped 86 mph I get with SS, but darn good! -

Last night, running solo on my lvl 45 corruptor, mission settings: +2/2/no bosses/no AVs.
Everything I see is a lvl 47 minion or Lt., so not bugged in that direction.
A minion drops a Hecatomb proc. Happy day, song and dance, lalalalala etc.
Is that supposed to happen? (The drop, not the happy. :P )
I was under the impression that this shouldn't be technically possible.
Note that none of the other IOs that fell during the mission, common IO nor set IOs, dropped rated at lvl 50. -
Quote:Will be borked until Test Patch goes live...after that, we'll see.Still borked...
I got the last badges for Demonic on 2 characters last night (Sep 23) and neither received Demonic. I will try getting Gangbuster and bad Luck badges tonight on both. Hopefully that works.
Gol-
And for the record I hunted Consiglieres on my two live alts with all the Demonic prereqs until I was dizzy and somewhat nauseated, but I got High Pain Threshold on both and Demonic promptly awarded. -
Glad they are fast-tracking the Demonic Accolade fix. Was annoying.
On the plus-side, two of my alts now have High Pain Threshold as that was the only way to get Demonic to award. Of course, I'm now cross-eyed and dizzy from circling The Flop in St. M for an hour or so to get enough Consiglieres. :P -
Quote:The supply for all redside servers is found in the BM, and for all blueside servers is found at WW. There is never a supply difference between the servers, only between red and blue.I said nothing with regards to pricing being different on blue and red side.
The important part here you might have overlooked is "on my server" Maybe you play on a different server than I do, in which case your experiences may differ than mine. Playing on the most populated server does have its advantages from time to time. -
Quote:I contacted support directly via petition both times it happened. In both cases it was escalated to a Senior Customer Support Representative. In both cases the response (from GM_Alura) was the same.Good idea. But what I am wondering, is if a GM or direct contact with support, would get them to award the accolade retroactively without the need to get HPT first. Has any of you tried that?
Quote:I will be forwarding this to our Quality Assurance Team for further investigation.
If they are able to reproduce the bug you reported, it will be placed on a list of things to be fixed. It will be prioritized based on its impact on the game and players. If it cannot be reproduced, we may contact you to get additional information or to provide you with information regarding the game design.
I also PM'd Niviene several days ago, who responded saying she had forwarded it to the proper Dev. However, there has not yet been a Dev acknowledgement on the forums that the problem exists. -
Quote:I've both started and seen several threads about this.Samething has happened to me. I have all the badges yet no DA.
It appears the requirements for Demonic have been mixed up with the requirements for High Pain Threshold, and although the accolade progression bar reflects the correct progress it never completes.
Not sure if the bar registers the completion when HPT *is* completed, but at least the power is being awarded in that situation.
It's happened now on two of my alts, and I've both PM'd the devs and bugged it in-game. No response so far from the "powers that be". -
Quote:This bug seems to be creeping. The Mercs Mastermind Medic still has a faulty animation on his Aid Other. When he activates the power, the tricoder simply appears in the air roughly where his hand ends up mid-animation and stays there the entire time, pointing 90 degrees to the left. The "green ray" effect still plays off the tricoder, but does so to the left, as that's where the device is pointing.
This only happens with Aid Other and never with Stimulant, which plays the proper animation every time, and it happens every time the Medic uses Aid Other.
As I mentioned in the I16 Bugs thread, last night three different team members had a similar animation bug every time we used Stimulant, and it lasted all night through two different zones, two male and one female. The characters do one of the bent-over animations while the tricorder appears in mid air looking as described by Samuel Tow above.
The bug wasn't present on Friday, but was on Sunday night. Something odd going on. -
Saw this one last night, and it seems to be new, but may have been reported elsewhere. Curiously it wasn't there when I16 first dropped, so something has changed in the last few days.
While running a street sweeping team we found that the animation for Stimulant was messed up. Specifically, the "tricorder" appears, and lets out a beam, but it's suspended off to the side. Instead of holding the tricorder, the character does a brief version one of the bent over animations (like the one that preceeds Council bosses converting to Warwolf when their HP are low).
There were 3 people on the team with Simulant, and all 3 had the same issue. Two males, 1 female. It occurred in Skyway as well as Faultline, remaining a problem between zones. Lvls were 17-20. -
Quote:Seems like the issue is being narrowed down...that being said my Corrupter and Dom won't be getting High Pain Threshold anytime soon. :PI was just coming here to post a Demonic-related bug. I was working on accolades tonight, specifically High Pain Threshold. I had all of the requirements for that except for the Bad Luck badge. Upon receiving Bad Luck, I received BOTH High Pain Threshold and Demonic. This is despite having neither Coldhearted nor Soul Taker which are supposed to be required for Demonic.
Perhaps the Demonic badge got accidentally set to the same requirements as the High Pain Threshold badge?
Good bit harder to get that than Demonic any day.
FIX 'de BUG, plz Devs! -
Fascinating. Well I suppose I could always go get Gangbuster. Probably could manage that long before they'll manage to fix the bug. :P
-
At least in the case of the Demonic badge neither zoning, logging or doing anything else seems to reward the accolade or the badge. Completion bar still full. Accolade still not awarded.
