All the new contacts in Mercy Island, except for Dr. Graves, are unavailable to Villain Epic Archetypes (VEATs) created prior to Issue #21 as the entire contact chain is completely broken.
Operative Kuzmin, the new starter contact, won't give any missions to VEATs until you've spoken to Alan Desslock, the special VEAT contact, and done his one single mission, which is not a problem if you're on a brand new character.
However, if you've completed Alan Desslock's mission prior to Issue #21 going live, then Operative Kuzmin won't acknowledge it, and sends you back to see Alan Desslock.
But as Alan Desslock's mission can only be done once, you'll be unable do so, thus making it impossible to get any of the new contacts except for Dr. Graves, or experience their story arcs and get the new badges, even through Ouroboros. -
Earlier this evening I took part in an Underground Trial on Defiant, and despite Desdemona's health never dropping below 50% no one who took part in the Trial were awarded the Tour Guide badge upon completion.
This has never happened to us before today's patch, and I can't help but wonder if the invincibility fix to Desdemona may have broken the badge. -
Yup, I'm having the same issue too.
I wanted to relog so I wouldn't crash out as we were about to do a Master of Keyes Trial attempt, but now the NCsoft Launcher is stuck on "Downloading (??:?? remaining)" until it eventually times out with a "NCsoft Launcher Update Error / Error Code -1" and the following message:
"HTTP-status 500: En uventet tilstand hindret serveren i å fullføre forespørselen."
Or, translated it into english:
"HTTP status 500: An unexpected condition prevented the server from fulfilling the request."
EDIT: Yay, it's working again now! -
Quite often when doing a mission in which you need to stop someone from escaping, they'll trigger as you're zoning into the mission, so you may not see them say they're fleeing.
And if the mission is on a multi-level Arachnos map they're also quite likely to reach the nearest elevator before you can get to the same level as them, thus failing the mission, even if you run straight through and ignore all enemies.
The absolutely worst missions in this regard are the "Defeat all Wailers in office: Stop Silvertongue from escaping!" mission from Hardcase, in which the Elite Boss you need to stop often will spawn right next to the elevator on the top floor, and the "Defeat Agent Crimson: Stop Agent Crimson from escaping" from Shadow Spider, in which you need to stop a Hero with Super Speed and seemingly capped Immobilization and Slow Resistrance, who will also flat out ignore all Taunts and attacks while making a beeline for the door. And if there's anything blocking the tunnels, like a horde of Mastermind pets, he may just run straight through the wall and outside of the map.
Thank goodness they added the Autocomplete feature! -
Wait, what? I thought the Dev chat was tomorrow! Grrr! Argh! Missed it!
Thanks for posting a transcript though! -
Take care and all the best wishes for the little one, EMPulse!

Quote:Oh, er ... The Launcher has updated itself to version 1.5.26.2 now, and the beta server installation is visible. The beta server client is already installed on my computer -- in multiple locations now in fact. I just can't run or update any of them through the NC Soft Launcher.

Start -> Run
For 32 bit: "C:\Program Files\NCsoft\Launcher\NCLauncher.exe" /LaunchGame=CohBeta
For 64 bit: "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCsoft\Launcher\NCLauncher.exe" /LaunchGame=CohBeta
These will start the NCLauncher with the Beta server selected for install, then just click "Install Now" if you need to.

I shall try editing the Launcher configuration files directly and see if that will make it work. -
Quote:Just tried and this appears to be a no-go as the NC Soft Launcher still refuse to acknowledge the presence of any beta server, no matter which region it's set to.You should now able to connect to Beta if you select Europe or North America as your region.
Available options if set to EU:
Installed
o City of Heroes
o City of Heroes Test (EU)
Not Installed
o Lineage
o Lineage II
o Guild Wars
o Aion

Quote:Unfortunately my NC Soft Launcer totally refuse to acknowledge the existance of any Beta server, no matter which localisation it's set to.Don't you have any left on the Beta server from like the GR beta?
I thought they'd removed it after the Going Rogue beta ... -
Quote:Unfortunately no. All existing characters on the two test servers got wiped during the server list merge testing, and since the European servers aren't listed in the character copy tool list at the moment, no characters can be copied over either.Don't for get that you Euro types can still take part in the American test event this evening - it's not exclusive to American accounts, just like the Euro event wasn't going to be exclusive to Europ accounts.
The only options left for me, and the majority of my European friends, is to join with low-level characters created on either the test server or on one of the US servers, and let the Devs work their Devine magic on them first, or to transfer a high-level character over to the latter and then copy them over, which costs money.
And for the same reasons joining in on the US test of the new Keyes Island iTrial later today isn't a viable option either. -

A while back my main gaming PC self-destructed, so I had to resort to playing CoX on a small Acer Aspire One netbook while it was in for repairs. Granted, Windows 7 would frequently crash, and it ran hot enough to singe my wrists, but the framrate was actually higher than I'd imagined it would be -- not great, but it worked in a pinch.

I'm not sure why you're having such trouble accessing the EU Test Server, as I've logged in every now and then since Issue #20 went live to tinker with the various Incarnate powers.
Until today that is ...
Now I can't get past the character select menu as the DB Server isn't responding when attempting to log in with any of my characters. -
I'm in the same boat as nearly everyone else here, and can't log in to my own Master Account.
I started playing way back in 2005 and as such was completely stumped as to what I may have typed in as an answer to the security question I got when attempting to log in last night.
So I sent an e-mail to Support explaining my predicament, which of course caused me to remember the answer to the question five seconds later.
I then tried logging in again, giving what I'm fairly certain is the correct answer, but it still won't accept it as being valid.
Grrr! -
Quote:Sweet! It should be back back up and running. Please let us know if there's any further issue with the character copy tool!
Now, if you would be so kind as to enable public access to the EU Test Server so we can make space for any character we wish to copy over for this event too, then things would be even sweeter! -
