  1. Hate caves, blue OR brown, where'ere they may be found.

Cimerora cave: if you just GOT to be in a cave, this is the one to be in. May have fun swimming pool at the end.

Arachnoid caves: these are visually interesting caves with room to move.... but on people who don't Hover, the incessant undulation of the floor honestly makes me a little motion-sick. I have to really slow down or I start getting this funny headache....

I'm just not a huge fan of anything that forces a team to fight all bunched up into one ball, unable to move or even see what's going on. The blue/brown cave is the worst example of this and I think CoX needs a few nice big quakes to settle this issue.

I remember once a few years back someone started a thread suggesting a SF to destroy all Oranbega caves in CoX: the sugestion was met with rave reviews. LOL.
  2. Why is this emote so elusive? It seems like females are limited [usually] to just one or two sit-poses. I dont think I've ever managed to get this pose afterward:

    And then we have:

    BEST ZONE EVER!

I almost hate to see this sort of thing, because it makes me want these pieces so badly and I know we have ZERO chance of ever getting them.

And they can make with the crossed-arm-hover pose while they're at it, "it" = busily not giving us what we want where this costume stuff is concerned.
  5. Nice list. Unfortunately, these things have been asked for literally dozens of times before with nary a peep from anyone who matters.

Be that as it may, I'd love to see many of these but I am also not about to hold my breath waiting. We the players have suggested till we are blue in the face; the thanks we have gotten is pretty much "LOLVILLAINS" from the rest of the playerbase, at least.

The time has come to roll up sleeves and put money where mouths are. The developers know what needs to be done: they are not stupid people. They don't need a list; these entire forums are lists of what needs doing.

If they get with it, I will be the first to cheer. VEATS. Nice. I will play them. But we got other issues that need addressing.

I wait with interest to see if they're addressed. That's all.

Also if pvp on its own is not good enough (read imablances all around) then no amount of LURING is going to save the system. The imbalances themselves need to be fixed

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The Great PvP Imbalance Fix:

    You enter the zone.

    Your opponent enters the zone.

Both of your power-trays gray completely out except for two powers: Brawl and Sprint.

You are now equal, guys. Parity achieved. Have at it.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
As InfamousBrad said, if you've not gotten a door in the red zone on a lowbie, especially in Atlas, you might want to buy a few lottery tickets, because the odds are in your favor.

I've created three lowbie heroes in the last few weeks and all three got missions in the red zone at level 2 -- par for the course for me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is the first place my new heroes get sent, to a red-zone far corner of the map! It is ridiculous.

It's in fact rare for them to get a mission which is within a half-mile.

And then they wonder why sewer teams form... no big surprises there. Although I really have to say, I don't much care for the sewers. Getting back to the sewers when you die can be problematic - you have to cross that zone, AGAIN, by yourself. Big fun.

CoV stomps all over CoH in this respect.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Eventually, I finally made it to level 5. My contact told me to see someone in King's Row, who then told me to see -- you guessed it! -- Lt. David Wincott in the Hollows. His first mission for me: defeat 10 Outcasts. The problem: Outcasts near the area range from levels 6-9 in groups of 7-10 members, often including several lieutenants and bosses.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My at-the-time level 7 Defender was recently sent on a hunt mission to a certain part of Perez Park. I have heard Perez cussed up one side and down the other on these boards, but what the heck - I will go take a look.

I get to where he's supposed to be, and everything's conning purple. Bwahahahaha! The Defender is doing good to hit a yellow-conning minion at level 7, much less a purple-title boss.

He'll be dropping that mission as soon as the three day period passes. One thing about CoH, if someone insists on passing out annoying hunt-missions, you can always just ignore that contact and start hunting on the street to level.

That way you can pick your targets. LOL at ever thinking that sending me to hunt purple-titles is ever, ever going to work. Not in the Rogue Isles, and not over here either.

As far as the buffing pet, that is so far off for me that it does not even register on my radar. That way, I avoid angsting over it.
  9. [general response]

Gah! So much "I don't like what's in it, so I think its not only a rip off but that no one else should have it!"

Holy dawg. You know what? The developers put stuff I don't give a damn about in CoX, *all the time.* This does not mean I think no one else should have it, nor am I going on a rant about how content I don't like is a "rip off," 'cause ZOMG! Ten bucks is the end-all, be-all of my personal universe! Or OMG! I had to pay a $15 subscription for the month they put in content I don't care about.... stop the presses! RIP OFF!

Let's get real here: you spend ten bucks in five minutes picking up your order at the local take-out Chinese place. Ten bucks ain't nothin'. It's chump-change. It's lunch money.

The best part is, if you don't like the pieces you don't have to give the developers your ten bucks. Win-win here, people. Never seen so much grief over cool new costume pieces since the recipe-debacle. [And this ain't that, so celebrate.]

Or don't buy the pack; whichever suits your fancy. Its a wonder the developers don't fling their hands into the air and shelve whatever cool thing they're working on next, in a fit of pique. I would not blame them if they did, no matter *what* they do its DOOOOOOOOOOOM!
  10. When was the last such expansion pack they gave us? Wasn't it the Sinister/Justice costumes pack? And wasn't that over a year ago? If not, its got to be coming up on a year, fast.

I don't see an expansion pack every year or so as the end of the world. And while it is true that they could start throwing these packs out there every other month and stop the addition of all free emote and costume upgrades to the game, I have a hard time believing that will happen. They're not that stupid, for one thing.

From what I understand, we have it pretty good compared to other MMOs in regard to continually having to buy expansions. I just don't see this as a problem.

OK, said my say. *gets off soap-box* Wait, just one more thing:

    ALL HAIL SEXY JAY!

    NOW I am done.

Instead of giving the playerbase, which helps pay them regulerly, a gift they decided to charge additional.

    [/ QUOTE ]

... Did they NOT just *give* us the Enforcer and Jester sets as a gift?! For free?!! SHEEEEESH!

Someone is being "greedy pure and simple"; not so sure its NCSoft.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
To me.. it seems like a huge rip off.

$10 for some costumes that I doubt I'll ever use and four lowly emotes? No powers? No badge? $10 for something that I expect to see in most updates?

    HUGE rip-off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    HUGE rip-off, FOR YOU.

For me, HUGE value, because there are several female costume pieces in there that will be in heavy rotation over here. And the male tux coat is just one word: dazzlingly gorgeous - o wait that's two words, but you get my drift. it is elegant, it is beautiful, it flows like a dream. Looks great. Only just now I saw some guy come into the tailor in a costume that looked like a bad joke; comes out in a few minutes the very picture of elegance.

    I have no complaints.

Will I use ALL of the pieces? Nope. Do I give a damn about the emotes? Not a bit.

Am I very pleased with these costume pieces? You betcha. My main gripe, if I really had one, would be that there are no "bridal" tights to go with the bridal corsets, but I'll survive.

If you don't like the pack, well you just saved yourself ten bucks. And that's ok. Some of us like new costume stuff though, and for us, this is a very happy day.

I just want him to add a cummerbund. My kingdom for a cummerbund! D:

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would be a good addition, come to think of it.

Otherwise, generally speaking I'm a little amused by this doom-crying in here. If they ever release a pack with items I don't want, I just won't buy it. That's the beauty of paid expansions for cosmetic stuff: if you don't want it, you don't have to pay for it and your game does not suffer.

I think I got shots of all the pieces. According to LH, the veil is supposed to be mostly translucent, which is going to be fixed in the near future.

I found it right after I posted!

    OMG OMG OMG!

    OMG OMG OMG!
Those are GREAT pieces! Fetish-inspired bridal wear, what could be better! No cape shall hide the beauty of those female pieces!

I prostrate myself in the direction of Sexy Jay in gratitude, and remind the developers that stuff like this is always a great way to get extra money out of me. Can Mandy's clothes be far behind, if we're getting this now? In fact some of these pieces seem familiar. SWEET

  15. What, is a new costume pack avaliable?! I heard nothing of this, I am so behind the times.... what's in it? I looked around in Announcements, etc. and saw nothing.

    1) An Ouroborous mission of the wedding, complete with "TEH MAD XP AND BLING.".

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, even better: an Oroborous version of the wedding, only its a strike-force and you get autoexemped down to level 1, like villains do for that @%!$ "redo your breakout from the Zig" mission.

And no expees. This is a sacred and solemn occasion, not to be marred by the consideration of vulgar personal gain.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
With the announcement of the Wedding Event, and the fact that only 100 people will be allowed in each "instance" of it, it is quite obvious that I will be unable to attend.

They're not getting a wedding present if I can't get in there, that's just all there is to it. *stuffs pink-mylar-wrapped and silk-ribbon-bound suitcase nuke back behind the nearest teleporter in the base* That'll show 'em.

    Sexiest CoX Art?

So what's the sexiest CoX art you've seen?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Dance by Graver and JTran

But I'm biased AND a sicko.

    *raises eyebrows*

..... Wow. That's some pretty great art you got right there.

One of the best fan-art pieces I have yet seen. Awesome.

The piece I'd probably most like to see full size is Naughty Nadya's avatar.... what exactly is going on in that? Ahem. LOL. Maybe that's in here and I have not run across it just yet.

*reads rest of thread* oh yeah, there it is. Yikes. Great piece, puns not intended.

Lol Pax_ Do you have like a whole folder on your computer filled with Word Files that are "Pre-made" Respones that you only need to Copy - Paste? And If you do are they interchangable? (Like can you combine different ones?)

He's not called Debatocles for nothing.

Unfortunately I can't really see his style holding up well compared to Socrates, and other great minds of the time, but c'est la vie. I think that "enema arrow" thing may come into play here, only except the obvious, what we get is a copious outflow not of waste-matter, but of words.

    Ick, what a metaphor. Sorry.
  20. *raises eyebrows*

Wow... that pretty much covers all the bases. I hereby nominate Human Being as Official Forum Voice of Reason.

All of this sounds very interesting, with the exception of having to have a team to get Shivans. I like being able to go get them by myself..... from what I hear, its already pretty much of a given that you need a team to get nukes due to Stalkers camping the site, but Shivans... I like those accessable.

If the Arachnos Mace was made available on both sides as well, I'd expect some roleplayers to be willing to "kill" for such a prop. These temp powers are all useful, potentially fun, and could see repeat purchasing, but are not game breaking if someone were to "cheat" and take falls for merit-alikes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I might actually be willing to fight someone for access to that mace. I want the one with the poison-ray...
