I do have a tendency to feel little pity for upper-level people who have not picked up Stamina, however. I don't view it as my job to babysit people who neglected the foundations for the "fun stuff." I will view demands for SB from such people with extreme prejudice.

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

I wouldn't know, because all of my people have the Fitness pool. -
*wants female at-rest stance now*
I like the one we have now, but just sayin' it would be a nice one to see cycled through, too. -
So.... how IS the new TF? Is it fun?
How does it stack up compared to the ITF? -
[ QUOTE ]
We wait a while, and someone else sends me a tell asking to join, so we invite them (L16 controller, totally awesome too), and we wait, and wait, and wait.
'We're waiting on you < name >, can you PLEASE come to Skyway so we can start'
"on my way to tram"
< fx /waiting >
After another two minutes, we had a little discussion on the team, and sadly, he was toasted.
'Sorry guy, we're starting now, have fun'
/kick < name >
Honestly, we waited more than 15 minutes whilst he jerked us around, it was very irritating.
He sent a tell post kick, saying he was 'nearly' at the station when I booted him. I'm not at all sad.
[/ QUOTE ]
... I really believe that people like this are intentionally messing with the rest of the team. Nobody can be THAT STUPID.

I mean, the mission in Boom was in the closest building to the Steel Canyon entrance, and the next mission was posted, as being in Steel Canyon, and he goes to pocket D.
Well, he was commonly AFK so that didn't matter much.
Except he just stayed in Pocket D.
"Uh I thought Pocket D was a zone, how do I get out of here?"

I tend to just SB the main tank, or if sans tank, the 1 or 2 main melee scrappers. I try to keep an eye on the team and will bolster teammates who are struggling.
[/ QUOTE ]
That is probably what is going to happen over here, too; I see a lot of people using this tactic.

I have somewhat softened my stance on SB lately and usually keep my mouth shut about it when on an outdoor map, on a non-melee character. Melee people still hate it as much as they ever did.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which melee people are these?
[/ QUOTE ]
Ones with junky computers and ones that don't know how to play.
[/ QUOTE ]
I am playing on a new computer, thanks, and I've been here for three years. You have never teamed with me. You know nothing of my playstyle.
I find your post unnecessarily combative and, frankly, rude. This type of post is one thing that makes these forums a lot less fun than they could be.

Well yeah, but BI refuses to take darkest night on a dark defender (due to the aggro it draws), so skipping the AOE immbo and/or hotfeet and/or fulcrum shift seems about par for the course.
All of which are of course huge aggro magnets.
[/ QUOTE ]
<whimper>
No Darkest Night?
That's how a Dark Defender (with SuperSpeed) herds a room onto a corner Tar Patch. Fluffy jumps out yelling "who's on mah tar patch, [censored]!" adding his Darkest Night and tentacles. Now that the there's about 70% -ToHit on the crowd, the Defender appears around the corner, Fears them for another -25% ToHit and stacks Tar Patch for -60% Damage Resistance and whittles their hp ways with whatever AoE attacks they have cycling in the single target attacks for the bosses.
[/ QUOTE ]
See, but with all that stuff going on, who even notices that I DON'T have DN....? Nobody, really. But if I die, Servant dies too. And he's important. Bummer.
/dark is an awesome set whether redside or blueside. I loves me some fears, Tar Patches and all the other lovely things it can do. At present I have five /dark people pf varying levels, that is how much I like the set.
But DN...? Has always seemed as akin to "horrid suicide" as anything you'd ever want to see. I think the toggle nature of the beast is the real problem. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
I'll be skipping Hot Feet though, I can promise you that. If that's the one I'm thinking it is.... requires you to be on the ground to use.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hot Feet does indeed require you to be on the ground to activate, but once the toggle is on there's nothing preventing you from using it while flying.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ha hmmm. Ok, I'll pick it up then. Thought you had to be on the ground at all times.... to which all of my non-melee people say, "ugh."
As far as the Darkest Night/FS debate, I am willing to give FS a shot but DN is staying off of my Dark builds. I have tried it and I do not like it; I've never noticed a lack in what I can do - to the contrary, I am alive to do other things to help the team, without it. With it I am instantly dead.
If FS does the same, I doubt I will keep it. The set has many other tools however, so I am open to experimentation. However this decision is a ways off, and I will need actual experience with it to make an informed decision.
Day 2: Level 11 so far, due to one abortive AE run [killed by half the team dying and refusing to hosp. This is a literal epidemic on AE teams, i have NO IDEA why everyone thinks it is ok to do this.] and a teamed mission in the Hollows. My gawd these sets are as horrible on my end as /dark armor. It is truly amazing.... *goes to buy END stuff* -
[ QUOTE ]
Dotn't take Fulcrum Shift whatever you do, it draws more aggro than Darkest Night does.
[/ QUOTE ]
My impression was that FS is a foundation power of the /kinetics set...?
I'll be skipping Hot Feet though, I can promise you that. If that's the one I'm thinking it is.... requires you to be on the ground to use. Also an auto-skip: Inertial Reduction. STUPIDEST. POWER. EVER. Especially if you'll be taking a real travel power, which I will be. -
..... So, having heard about the awesome godliness of Fire/kin Controllers one too many times, Bad decides to level one up, not least because Sunday was last day for 5th anniversary badge... so lets roll one now.
[To date all attempts to level a Controller have met with defeat, since I have my Mind Dom's experiences late-game ever before my mind's-eye, and its not a pretty picture as purple triangles dance hither, thither and yon in my head. Plus I like to actually do some damage now and then.]
I have somewhat softened my stance on SB lately and usually keep my mouth shut about it when on an outdoor map, on a non-melee character. Melee people still hate it as much as they ever did.
Day 1: No sooner do I pop out into Atlas and type "fire/kin LFsewer team" than I instantly have an invite. I have decided to hit the sewers because I have yet to hear of people being deleted due to a sewer-run.
Off to the sewers we go, followed by some moronic level 35+ /kinetics who thinks she's doing us all a favor by making us badly overshoot our targets and/or run headlong into another spawn. Don't you have anything better to do....? Go get on an AE team and harrass THEM, why don't you.
During this experience we had two upper-level /kins haunting the sewers evidently for the sole purpose of buffing "nooblettes," as we were so charmingly referred to.
Bad [grumpily]: "Check my badge-sheet, I am hardly 'new.' Thanks."
Get a life, level 35+'s haunting the sewer. And don't stack the SBs, kthanxbi.
End of sewer-run at level 6, standing there leveling up: *WHAM!* I am SBed yet again by some passing /kin. Good gravy, you people are worse than the plagues of Egypt! Poor impulse control is a sad thing.... Off we go to KR in order to score the jet-pack.
Mission accomplished. The Fire/kin in question: now level 9. This is a powerful alt, although end-hoggy on the level of my Dark Armor Scrapper. Aiiieeee!
What will happen next? How will Bad handle whiny requests for buffs? Exactly how complicated IS it to fire off a buff? Will bad pick up Stamina or SB at level 20? Or will Bad skip SB, just for the fun of watching the heads of Build-Nazis explode? Should be interesting.... lol -
Yes, that might actually work. For once we could put Warwolves' tendency to run all over a zone to work.
They would need to have their scare-factor upped considerably, however. The first thing that needs to go are the cute suspender shortie-pants. -
A sepia Dark Astoria.....?
NO. -

Crap I forgot about that animal-skeleton thing. No ghost dog for us, I guess.
[/ QUOTE ]Well, consider that in the Real World™, the Fir Bolg and the Tuatha de Danaan were just Irish people. (Normal humans.) Eochai (Eochaid mac Eric) was the human leader/king of the Fir Bolg. Just because the original myth has a dog doesn't mean that if added to the game it has to be in a canine form.
[/ QUOTE ]
....Yeah, it kinda does have to be a dog, or we lose the impact of the whole thing.
I am ok with turning normal humans into monsters for the sake of the game, but turning a monster/ghost into a person just doesn't cut it for me. Don't know why. -
Well damnit, maybe we can get a truly eerie banshee, or something... that would be pretty cool, wandering through the forests of Croatoa.
And with something like that, we could hear her off in the distance, like we do Jack now. Kind of makes you think, "What the hell was that?!" and then you realize, and wonder just how far away from you the entity really is. -
Crap I forgot about that animal-skeleton thing.
No ghost dog for us, I guess.

I predict high poly models, across the board texture improvements, especially environmental stuff, real-time lighting possibly with real day/night cycles with the sun being an actual light source during the day and lamps and player cast powers casting lights in the dark, and an overhaul to their effects system to make it both prettier and customizable. Frosting? Real time weather effects including rain, storms, and fog.
[/ QUOTE ]
We have fog now in Dark Astoria. Otherwise I think its been said before that we are not getting rain or snow, because that would make too many people's machines turn belly-up on the spot. I agree this would be awesome to see, but I don't think its going to happen... too many player's machines have trouble with what we have now. I like the blowing snow we see at the Ski Chalet, but notice that they keep that really low-key.
I hope we get all the rest of this, especially the lighting effects. I would also like to see day/night become more realistic. True night in the game seems to last 5 minutes. -
I currently have several people farming Croatoa for defeat-badges, since it is so easy to outlevel Croatoa content before one has all the badges - and they're such cool badges, too. But as I roam around looking for ghosts and witches to defeat, it strikes me that this zone - one of the coolest in all CoX, in my opinion - could stand some additions.
Especially in the Misty Wood, one often hears Jack In Irons off in the distance, and I think this is an awesome touch. [I'd much rather hear him than see him; indeed, we ought to get a badge just for having to stand there looking up his breechclout while defeating him. Ranged attacks FTW! But I digress....] Recently I rounded that barn right next to the train and ran smack into Eochai and retinue. I had no idea he was back there and that was really cool... nice little wake-up jolt. I did escape unscathed but it was definitely "OH ****!" there for a second....
When night falls in Croatoa, and perhaps in Dark Astoria as well, it would be interesting if we had the chance to run across Black Shuck/Padfoot/Skriker/whatever you want to call him. For the uninitiated, Black Shuck is a giant black ghost-dog with huge glowing red or green eyes that has haunted the British Isles for centuries. He usually does not attack but if he looks you in the eye, allegedly you are fated to die within 12 months.
So the CoX ghost-dog could maybe debuff you somehow if you get too close.... nothing too awful as far as debuffs, just one more reason to keep your eyes open while you're hunting in the woods. I think it would be awesome if you were back there hunting Fir Bolg to extinction as dusk fell, and a scary black dog the size of a large pony loped past and gave you the evil green eye. Maybe he could be GM-class, I dunno. Or like Sally, not much of a fight but you got a nice badge.
And the dog should not be silly-looking, as many GMs are. He should actually be scary looking. How cool would it be to see him lope pass the other end of the cemetary while you're hunting ghosts? Narrow escapes add fun to the game, in my opinion. Unlike many additions, this one would probably not be terribly difficult to implement. -
^^^Another farming sermon, oh yaaaaaay! Because that's just what we needed, more nanny-fication about farming in this forum.
If you don't want to farm or PL, don't do it. PROBLEM SOLVED! -

This certainly makes me glad I don't play squishies anymore.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sadly, I'm starting to get there. Why play anything other than god-mode mezz protection, after all?
[/ QUOTE ]
I came 'round to that conclusion a while back.
I do still play plenty of squishies, but it sure is nice to not have to worry about sleeps, mezzes and KB. My squishies avoid Malta unless teamed, though. Or unless they have Confuse. -
This is not an "RP tool," its a basic, common-sense QoL issue that makes people's character info easy to read.
It has screwed up several of my character's bio sheets in the live game, and made me afraid to even open my Info sheets on others, lest I inadvertently turn said bio into mush by accidentally hitting the space bar once.
You don't even need a 'carefully written bio" for this to affect you; as long as you have two or more lines, it can make your bio sheet look like trash.
Fix yesterday, please. -
Yeah, that's about how insightful, informative and just generally useful 98% of your posts are.
Carry on, every kingdom needs its fool. -
.... and the old ones arn't? At least these have better textures.
They really don't seem any more expressionless than the old ones, to me. -

I am so sick of this entire debacle I honestly wish they would remove MA from the game, just take is all out, strip the badges, I don't care..... just make it gone.
I feel that this is the most serious danger the game has ever been in, due to punitive actions of this and that sort, which have been discussed to death... friends are leaving over the nerfs, let's just roll it back to the way it was and let people try to heal.
The whole thing is a giant negativity-sink and.... and I know they're not going to take it out but I really feel that would be the best outcome. This is going from bad to worse, as in floods of people leaving.
I don't want my MMO to die. And it feels like the MA/related issues are killing it. I'm just very sad -

I think Vines needs some (re)work. I intially tought it was going to be another plant option but its more or less a decorative overlay. The pants are similar to other items and the chest version was a bit too subtle. I didnt even notice the pattern at first.
Maybe simply renaming it would not lead people to believe its going to be great for their creepers
[/ QUOTE ]
I too think that Vines needs to be expanded upon a bit. I bet that doesn't happen, though.... oh well, I will still use it. Probably will use it a lot more than I will Ulterior, actually.
Its a freebie.... all freebies are welcome.
I <3 male Supernatural 14 and female supernatural 12, + face 24, its all good. -
Bad's quickie costume review:
*New faces: some VERY NICE STUFF here. Both the male and female faces have new ones I'll be using, esp. the female ones, a few of which are drop-dead gorgeous.
*New costumes: Ulterior is a Justice revamp. Nice, but nothing to write home about.
Vines is a "tights" pattern, and a very nice pattern it is. It'll be all over the place, over here.
