You were PL them, so why did you whine?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because I wasn't power-leveling him; we had several level 50s on the team. And said team did not belong to me, nor did I know the leader. And of course I did not know the level 3. As a level 3 I prefer a sewer-run, but mileage varies.

[ QUOTE ]
Bad's compulsion to flame-bait aside, I have to agree with this. People act like going to the hospital is some kind of unthinkable act that should never even be considered. I had to run a Silver Mantis SF with only three people against Archus because an impatient jackass died and refused to go to the hospital even though no-one could resurrect him. He spent the entire fight dead.
My rule of thumb is to ask if I should go to the hospital once (because I've had people yell at me for not letting them resurrect me) and if I don't get an awaken, a resurrect or an answer within the next 30-60 seconds, hit the hospital. Provided there's no-one SKed to me, of course. There really is no justifiable reason for people to stay dead when they have been told repeatedly to go to the hospital.
[/ QUOTE ]
If for instance you are running the Hess TF and hosping means you get sent all the way to Talos, I can kind of understand that. Ditto for anything where hosping makes you leave the zone.... i think if you die during the TVolta respec, you get sent all the way across IP and yeah, that is a massive PITA.
But in the MA, for crying out loud the hosp. entrance is 20 feet away. I expect even a lowly level 3 to be able to make it 20 feet!
This is exponentially more annoying when a level 50 lies there dead refusing to hosp because OMG! 20 feet is too far to run. /FACEPALM! -
[ QUOTE ]
You're using the Architect?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup. I am currently PLing two Controllers via the MA. Why? Because playing them through the lower levels solo is like Chinese water-torture. I want to at least get to level 20 in there; at least get to Stamina. Regular teams are fine, but if I can't find one I head to Atlas.
Yes I said it. I am power-leveling in there. *gasp of horror!* XP Puritans, hit your "notify moderator" icons right about.... now. -
IF YOU DIE IN A MISSION, GO TO THE HOSPITAL.
IF you are in an MA mission, if you go to the hospital you run 20 feet and there's the teleport-beam. This is not rocket-science, not hard to figure out, it should be UNCONSCIOUS KNOWLEDGE shared by everyone with two working brain-cells to rub together.
Play an Empath and let the demands begin! My Emp is level 18 and is of course not fully tricked-out slotwise yet.
*level 3 Scrapper on the team dies.* I had just rezzed someone else 30 seconds before and of course it wasn't recharged. I'll put more recharges on there later, meanwhile other stuff needs doing first, like END reducers. But I digress.
level 3: Rez plz.
me: I'm still recharging, hit the hospital dude.
level 3: Rez plz.
me: Go to the hospital! People act like the MA hospital gives you herpes or something. GO
level 3: [still faceplanted] Rez plz.
GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
GO TO THE HOSPITAL
GO TO THE HOSPITAL
GO TO THE HOSPITAL
GO TO THE HOSPITAL
STOP LEECHING NOW
What, this behavior is epidemic now! If you are lucky enough to be a level 3 on a team with higher level people, be courteous in return for their hospitality and GO TO THE ****ing HOSPITAL ALREADY, instead of begging for rezzes, wakies and whatever else JUST GO. You can BUY INSPIRATIONS on the way back in.

Doesn't sound like a buff to me.
[/ QUOTE ]Let us consider this:
The devs state their goals, and do things. Then those goals - at least according to you - are massively not met.
What the hell do you think they're doing? Do you honestly think the goal of these changes was to weaken the archetype?
[/ QUOTE ]
*rueful....* Its sort of looking that way, yes.
ROTFLMAO at the prior-stated idea that players should be grateful for having to stand around waiting for attacks to recharge. LOL! Yeah... that's.... just wonderful.... -
[ QUOTE ]
To throw some math into the endurance issue... the total net change in Endurance for powers affected was ~30% in the upward direction.
[/ QUOTE ]
*sardonic laugh* yeah, that's... reasonable.... Pfffffffbbbbtttt
If they implement this, the Doms are shelved. 110% guarantee. I doubt the developers care much about my Dominators, but they ought to care about how Doms overall will become even rarer than they are now.... and they're pretty damn rare right now.
Man, nothing is safe these days. -
[ QUOTE ]
To everyone who played a dominator, it's a buff.
To those people who played PSW PSW PSW PSW PSW PSW PSW it's a nerf but well, [censored] them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, because expecting a really cool tier 9 to be truly effective is an EXPLOIT!! Call the XP Police, someone's actually using a cool power for fun, we can't have that....!
Honestly I can't say enough how sad I find the major push for mediocrity on these forums. Some of you will not be happy until every last decent thing in the game is nerfed into the ground. -
[ QUOTE ]
This looks like a great buff for my dominators. My Mind/Energy in particular is shifting into high gear with the Energy Assault upgrades. I'll glady take all those changes for my Plant/Psy too.
[/ QUOTE ]
...You love firing off two /energy attacks and losing half your blue bar? I exaggerate a little, but really not that much; the END issues are just horrible.
This is going to take MASSIVE respec'ing and re-IOing to fix; I may well just shelve her over this. When I build a Brute or Scrapper, I know the END issues are severe and I build for that accordingly. Wasn't exactly expecting that on my Dom...
If my Dom has the END issues of heavy-duty melee-types, then I will be expecting the DAMAGE she does to be equivalent. But we're not gonna get that and..... *reaches for top shelf of the storage-closet*... -
[ QUOTE ]
Who needs heals? Green inspirations are cheap to buy, and if you don't have any, you can make some by combining. Heck, they're dropping all the time as long as long as you leave a spot open.
[/ QUOTE ]
Welllllllll, maybe because someone is in, say, the last mission of the ITF and they don't have time to keep leaving the mission to go buy Respites? And perhaps they've used most of their Insps. by that time and can't make many/any combination Insps.?
People who skip or poorly slot powers because they're relying on Inspiration drops - or worse yet, the buffer on the team to keep them healed and/or Defended - is the very definition of "annoying, bad player" to me. Who needs heals, indeed? Build your character for optimal self-defense, in whatever form that AT allows.
But saying heals are unneccesary because you can always wait for Inspirations to drop.... man, be serious. That may work some of the time but depending on it 100% of the time is going to land [general] you in the hospital.... or more likely, the dead one lies there dead waiting for the rest of the team to get the job done. That kind of attitude goes hand in hand with poor slotting: because its other people's job to keep [general] you alive and/or make a wakie every last time you die. Right?
Pffft.
Was recently on a team where some Scrapper kept running off on a huge outdoor map and then saying "where's my buffs? Where's my heals, man these healz suck!"
Someone may indeed have sucked in this instance, but it was not the Empath on the team.
"Dude. Stay near the healer for buffs, you have to be within the cast-radius to get the benefit."
*Scrapper disappears across the horizon of the map, yet again* a few seconds goes by.... *FACEPLANT!*
"You guys arn't healing meeeeee......!"
Genius! -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm just curious, i play quite a few dominators, but none of them are level 50, and none have pema dom, but whats the general idea about the new Dom changes in i15...
is it....1. Great Buffage with a few nerfs or 2. OMG loadsa powers have been nerfed with this new Buff.
Just a question, as I never have the time..or inclination, to play on test.
[/ QUOTE ]
From what I understand, the buffs have been paid for heavily by drastically increased recharge times and endurance-costs. Psy Shockwave has been completely gutted; thank you God I don't have a /psi Dom. I'd be furious.
This is just me, speaking as someone with a level 50 Dom under my belt: I thought Doms needed a damage buff badly. What I don't get is why they had to pay for that with this other stuff... Doms will still be an under-performing AT. What has basically happened is that they have shifted the under-performance from Damage to Rech. and END: the AT as a whole is still just as situationally bad compared to other ATs.
Buffing Dom damage while leaving everything else alone might have gotten more players to consider playing one. As it stands now, looks like even fewer people than before will be playing them.
Yay for "buffs," I guess.I play a Mind/energy Dom and I can tell you that from my experience on Test, the END issues she has now are straight out of the pit of Hell, and yes she does have Stamina. Its like I'm still a Dom... but now have the END. issues of a Brute. If this stays unchanged on Live I will be shelving this character for the foreseeable future.

The OP will go no where. Definitely plan on that. No sarcasm needed.

Last time I checked it wasn't you who made these decisions. Hence my taking your pronouncement with several grains of salt. -

What about an ITF with my /storm MM? Hear of those roof tops by any chance?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh I can picture that now: Cimerorans flying off the edges of the roofs, pets taking suicide-dives going after them, chaos and annoyance for everyone else reigning supreme.
[ QUOTE ]
My 50 grav/ff conroller (any KB, cage, repel, wormhole there?) will hold down the KB if needed.
[/ QUOTE ]
You dual-box to mitigate your KB issues? Nice. We need more people to do this.
/endsarcasm -
[ QUOTE ]
Doesn't sound like a plan.
I use my KB powers as intended and do perfectly fine on teams.
Players shouldn't be able nerf other players that use KB as their support for a team.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately I don't see you on teams; I see idiots who dont care who, what or when they KB.
Look at it like this: your KB is "nerfing" what my melee people can do on a team. See, that cuts both ways.
Honestly, if they rounded up every /storm in both sides of the game and conducted an auto da fe' under the Atlas statue, it would be cool with me. That is seriously how annoying this set is; there are other bad examples of KB Gone Horribly Wrong, but /storm is their king. UGH.
Taunt having -KB? Plan. Definitely. -

Ah, the Carnies! Where the women are bored socialites and the men are corpses!
[/ QUOTE ]
Was on a MA farm recently [shhhh! Don't tell!] where someone had Vanessa in the mission as a pet. Repeatedly.
For at least five minutes, I let the rest of the team go on without me while I took closeup screenies from every conceivable angle.... well almost.
The masks worn by upper-level female Carnies are seriously beautiful close to.

Hey guys a while back there was a thread detailing why only 1 acc was needed in attack powers. Is there anyone that can shed the light on that? I can't remember all the exact reasons and sg members and I are discussing that right now. Seems the last thread was purged in the last go thru.
Thanks in advance
[/ QUOTE ]
Roll an Archery Blaster, and you really will need only one ACC per power. It rocks, and so far I have 3 Archery people, each sporting a different secondary. -
[ QUOTE ]
We all know that trying to tank in a team with a bunch of KnockBack sucks, but a reduction to other AT's KB powers isn't fair to them soooo.
Add a "KB to KD/KU" conversion aspect to Taunt/Guantlet so that anything under the influence of a tanker's taunt effect isn't sent flying away.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sounds like a plan.
Since other people are not about to adjust their gameplay so as not to adversely affect others, I'm ok with this. I would in fact be much more likely to pick up Taunt on my Tanker, were something like this to be implemented. -
[ QUOTE ]
oooo i hate that ice armor thrown on me without asking
[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Kinda sad that people want to cancel a buff just because of the graphics.
[/ QUOTE ]
In many cases that is WHY we want to cancel them: because of the graphics. I have no objection to the protection Ice shields give; I loathe the way they *look*.
IMO it is past time for the appearance of some of this stuff to be revisited by the developers. There is no reason on God's green earth that Ice shields can't look 110% better than they do.
The longer I play, the more tired I get of 'buffs" anyways. I don't want some moron on the team deciding FOR me that I need orbiting firey rocks, to be encased in 12"-thick ice, to be invisible or [most LOL-tastic of all] that being able to jump really, really high will somehow help me overcome those +4s we're facing down.
So no, I don't want suppression; what I really want is the ability to dismiss. Everyone will love this except for those buffers with zero impulse-control, and I anticipate their tears being.... delicious.

It's the only way to get rid of them. I urge all legitmate players of the game to report AE farms when they see them. Something must be done and it's up to us as players to help the devs get rid of this blight on our game.
[/ QUOTE ]
No?
Edit: Let me clarify that no .... I will never use the complaint button against a farm because it will get the slot banned. I will, however, use the bug report button under the options tab whenever I see something that is a bit skewed, and let the dev's sort out what needs to be fixed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait so you're actually going to not report farms because you don't agree with the devs actions? Sorry but you're wrong. The devs are banning publisher slots of farmers for a damn good reason.
And you know what, theres a difference between in game farms and AE farms. Mainly that the in game stuff you're still learning the various parts of the game. AE farms you're experiencing a tiny part of the game which is leaving new players with little to no knowledge of the game. They're creating an entire group of 50's with no idea how to play.Thats not me saying no idea how to play my way, jsut flat out not know how to play. You can't dispute that because you know it's true.
You can ignore this problem all you like. I'm not saying its hard to get teams outside Atlas or anything, i'm saying that people shouldn't have to leave Atlas to avoid the farmer broadcasts. At the very least the AE needs to be instanced to remove it from zone broadcast.
Something has to be done about this.
[/ QUOTE ]
Destroy all robots!
Me, I'd be fine with those giant bipedal robots from "Terminator: Salvation" showing up in Atlas and tearing the MA building there right down to the ground, tossing the odd hero into their collection-baskets for use as forced labor over there in the Skynet Concentration Camp as they did so... but then, I do have a twisted sense of humor. Plus those robots totally kicked a**, we need them in the game ASAP. They are way cooler than those stupid Council robots. They are even cooler than Malta robots! And that is saying something.
My feelings about MA are fast approaching non-humorous, however. -
[ QUOTE ]
I agree with Bad_Influence on this one. We should have to pay for the free expansions so they can be cooler...
...that was your point, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope. Nowhere close. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I try to drop missions as little as possible because it feels like just giving up. I'm musch more likely to broadcast for help than to drop a mision. Unless it's a low level mission I've done a dozen times, or it's the like the Defeat the Infected mission where the travel time:reward ratio is high.
I'll definitely try the confuse route. Does confuse affect AVs as readily? I'm guessing no based on my experience with Rommy, but maybe his Nictus buddies clear his mind?
[/ QUOTE ]
You may get Confuse to affect an AV, but due to the PToD it won't happen easily and when it does, it'll last about 5 seconds. Unless you are on a team, whenever you as a Dom see the PToD on an EB/AV and you DONT have Shivans or nukes... you're hosed.
My experiences leveling a Mind Dom are the reason I have the one level 50 Dom, and no more. I have one level 15 Plant Dom who is around because she has a cool costume; she's about 1.5 years old yet still level 15. I like looking at her and she has a cool name.
The PToD mean that I lack incentive to level her.
Doms are really great, except when they're not. Add to this the disinclination of others to make room on [for instance] LRSF runs for the Dominator AT and.... yeah, no incentive. -
[ QUOTE ]
Not sure what's changed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, no one was boomboxing, super-jumping, spamming broadcast with a "LFF!" macro, pogoing or slamming everyone who passed with SB, so perhaps these robots are an improvement. -

People like you make me long for "world" PvP, in which you could just see certain people chillin' under Atlas, hit Telekinesis and then let the ganking begin.
And I don't even PvP that much; but that's how much I loathe this type of self-righteous blather and attempts to control other people's gameplay.
You have fun wearing those training-wheels, son; the cool people are leaving the Mission Architect anyways and going back to the Battle Maiden map where we can pursue ultimate xp/hour in peace, without you screaming for the Spanish Inquisition to show up.

EDIT: Doesn't change the silliness of B_I's argument.
The idea that we are always from now on going to have to pay for costume parts as good as those in the booster packs
[/ QUOTE ]
Free costume parts received in issue 14: as far as I can remember.... er.... none.
Ok, lets see what we're getting in issue 15:
* a nice but far from stellar costume named "ulterior" - with the pattern on the mini resembling something someone drew while both drunk and blindfolded, but still.... and
*A pretty, but fairly hard-to-see Tights pattern called "vines."
Perhaps you call these "as nice as [the costumes] we are getting in the Booster Packs," but I am a harsher critic and I say that these two things are nice but stack up next to Cyborg, Witch and Valk.... not so much.
If you got anything else to debunk this "silliness" with, let's see it ol' chappie. Till then, my argument stands - much to the hatred of many forumites, who would rather die stretched on the rack than admit what they know in their hearts - that I am right on this issue, heh.
Don't argue, do not call names. Post your proof. Calling me names will not get me to retract. Proof.

Custom Critters are always nasty, and people tend to have no concept of just what it is they are putting their players through.
[/ QUOTE ]
Was on a redside MA mission last night with a simply horrible boss at the end, and the rest full of END-draining lesser nuisances till you got there.
We complete after a lot of trouble, and as we're standing there next to the teleport beam afterwards the leader is going "this is my friend's arc! Please rate it well and send him comments about exactly WHY you did or did not like this! Its really important and essential that you do this!"
Teammate 1: "That sucked."
me: "You know, it really did. Not fond of end-drain."
leader: "Well tell him that and maybe he will consider changing it! He'll think it over... maybe..."
I'm not going to write an essay on an MA arc begging the owner to do anything whatever to it. What I WILL do is 1. decline to rate it, and be grateful for my forebearance and 2. I'll vote with my feet.
People have this idea that the more horrible a boss is, the more fun it is and more importantly, the more gluteus maximus they kick as an author. Well, if one wants good ratings might wanna give that idea a rethink.
Or not. And I can keep rating things a zero, its all good. Probably a bunch of others doing exactly the same thing
[/ QUOTE ]Or you could do what most of us do, and actually use the Suggestion field to send a Suggestion so the writer can improve their arc, instead of being a total [self-censored] about it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh boo-hoo. And as if the average unkillable-boss creator is really interested in feedback; he's going to read that and leave that boss/mission just how it is now.
Most people don't take critiques all that well. With this knowledge in mind, if I don't know you well I usually keep my critique to myself. It is truly a thankless task. -
[ QUOTE ]
By the time anyone gets to the point where they're fighting malta they either have status protection or access to some kind of single-target mez, at minimum.
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL, what?! "Everyone"?
Not hardly. My Blasters and Corruptors are, by and large, seriously discommoded by a lack of status protection when fighting stun-prone enemies. Now can they mitigate that by intelligent planning and/or powers such as Stunning Shot? They do, unless said 3-ACC-slotted power misses - as it has a tendency to do, especially against Chief Mesmerists who seem resistant to such tactics.
But let me tell you, there is a huge difference between decent status protection and relying on something like Stunning Shot or Petrifying Gaze. Status Protection does not miss.
Then we have the problem of Freak Slammers, who often show up in [at minimum] packs of 2-3. It is very possible for these banes of your character's existence to keep you chain-stunned if you lack protection. This is yet another example of the developer's mistaking "challenging" with Chinese water-torture - level annoying.
We have:
*perfect status protection and
*NO protection whatsoever
...with nothing in between. This seems needlessly harsh to me, but whatever.
