on a slightly more serious note, Id envision a Magical Boy to be someone like Erio Mondial, from Nanoha Strikers:

    Erio

Chrono or Yuuno (when hes not a ferret) from the same series

    Chrono

    Yuuno

    Negi Springfield, from Negima
    Negi

    or Kaz, from Pangya

    Kaz

Or really, one could make a case for any of the more elaborate Soul Reapers from Bleach- I mean sure, weve got the Martial Arts robes, but they barely cover your basic Soul Reaper mook, the captains and lieutenants gear can get pretty eccentric...
I think Negi Springfield falls into straight shonen.

Also, I recommend Safebooru for image links like that.

the issue (at least for me) isn't unlocking the pistols, it's that I basically need to unlock them twice.

I've actually used it like that twice myself.
Once as a regular aura for my magical girl "Sakura Tenshi" another as a combat aura for my samurai character in full armor.

What's amusing was the unintentional symbolism with it: one of the metaphors sakura contain is the brevity of life and by extension, a symbol of death.

So whenever my katana scrapper draws his sword, sakura petals fall, and enemies DIE.

I guess finding shirts in his size must be a pain.

Also, there needs to be more animation options for "throwing" your powers. Like literally throwing fireballs, or Kamehameha-styled sniper animations. Just something that puts more physical effort into the execution of our powers, instead of just our current lazy gesturing.

((Side-note: "Kamehameha" is included in my spellchecker by default 0.o))
That's because Toriyama actually named it after King Kamehameha of Hawaii. In some ways he was sort of the Hawaiian Gilgamesh.

  9. This... Feels amazingly stupid. It's like if you had to buy/unlock all dual blade options twice since there are two of them...

I dunno, from what I've heard and seen, nightwidows pretty strong outside of end issues and fortunata are all but broken with multiple powerful AoE attacks, a crashless nuke among them, full mez protection not even wolf spiders get, powerful buffs, debuffs, multiple control powers, and the list kind of goes on.
  12. I dunno, I mean I just threw these together for the most part and can see a few problems with them.

I mean for starters: Tank, brute, Stalker, and Scrapper ranged damage suck. Like, make master minds look like blasters suck. Ranged APPs and certain ranged powers they get skirt around this by the damage being linked to their melee damage modifier.

By making them Power Pools, they become readily available to EVERYONE and by the above comment I already made: who will end up befitting the most? None melee ATs, really.

The powers I picked out, as power pools, could result in doubled powers, which the devs hate with a passion. A DP blaster could have Pistols, pistols, dual wield, dual wield, and empty clips, empty clips.

Power order would need to be rearranged so that you can't just get some rather decent AoEs as soon as level 14, possibly. (I mean look at spring attack and the hoops you need to jump through that)

And if you make them into ancillary pools for Scrappers, Brutes, Stalkers, and Tanks, you end up with the problem of only being able to have one EPP per-build and cannot select anything else to go with it.

So anyway, I guess that PM lays his motivations to rest. It's not fatherly protective feelings that he has toward her if Hero 1 felt the need to mention the age difference.

I miss Hero 1. His LinkedIn says he still works at Paragon, but we haven't heard from him in a long time, and he wasn't at the Summit.
When bluesteel killed him, he was described as a "young man" and... Wait... He wasn't in his early 20's until THE SECOND Invasion?

Oh my god! Bluesteel BEAT A CHILD TO DEATH.

Edit: Specifically, if the Second rikti war occurred in-real time with issue ten launch (July 2007)* and he had died before the first Rikti War (2002) and is only now in his early 20's he was maybe 17 at the oldest.

*This also kind of ignores the vague date of it being POST Second Rikti War. This could mean The Clockwork king was as young as FOURTEEN OR THIRTEEN when bluesteel killed him.

    Actually, yes.
  15. It's simple: New power pools or maybe even new APPs. (actual names and powers may vary but this is a rough idea)

    Machine Gun power pool:
    -Burst
    -Pummel
    -Heavy burst
-Suppression fire (cone with slow and -tohit)

    Rifle Power Pool:
    -Single Shot
    -Bayonet
    -Sniper rifle
    -Armor Piercing Round (-res/-def)

    Side Arm Pool:
    -Pistol
    -Pistol Whip (chance for stun)
    -Double Tap
    -Executioner's Shot

    Pistols Akimbo Pool:
    -Pistols
    -Point Blank Double Shot
    -Dual Wield
    -Empty Clips

    Shotgun Pool:
    -Buckshot
    -Bird Shot
    -Taser Slug
    -12 gauge

Well I even considered that theory myself, so much that maybe Wu Yin wasn't her real father but CK was. (Wu Yin is mentioned as being shady about the whole thing...)

Either way, lots of people made the joke and having been part of several fandoms, including MLP, it gets tiring to hear how the Internet insists on turning every fictional character filling some sexual fetish niche.

Yes, I'm feeling as caustic as Eva, but for greatly different reasons.

Anyway though, personally I've come to love some of the dialogue tree tech, especially in this case because, while yes this is an action RP, sometimes it's nice to do a bit of regular RP/actually pretend our heroes can do more for people than punching people in the face.

Also, inspired by the 'slice' power suggestion by Twigman:

Sheer: (Narrow cone) line ranged attack. Rather than just throw the weapon to imbed it into a foe, you throw it to graze and cut them with a chance for catching other opponents.

Salvador Dali was here. Malaise is small time.
  19. okay, so I watched Prince of Persia recently and feel the same (hey, I LIKED that movie) but we need to talk about powers, so here are my proposals:

    1. Not just a KNIFE throwing set, but hatchets and such as well, or perhaps some hybrid of power customization linked to weapon customization is in order.

    2. some power ideas could include...
    -Basic ranged ST
-"Throw a lotta things" cone power
    -"Throw into foot" immobilize
-"Richochet one knife off of Multiple Foes" chaining attack
-maybe the tier nine could involve stopping time in a large area PBAoE hold, throwing a bunch of knives at your opponent that stop in mid air, and then when time resumes impale them. Okay, that was a joke but still.

I currently have one of two theories:
He's actually going to try to use Statesman's power to break Rularuu out of the Shadow Shard...
Or more elaborately, since it's mentioned he's been working on this whole thing for years, it's possible he's the one who's been 'directing' the Well in sort of experiments. Ultimately what he plans to do is not just drain Statesman's power, but the power of ALL Marcus Coles and basically 'force feed' them to Rularuu to give him a direct connection to the Well and thus make it possible to control Rularuu himself.

I just hope it finally ends the stupid "Clockwork King is a Pedo" jokes. Ya hear that, people?! She's at least eighteen!

anyway though, I honestly enjoyed the story, though despite someone's comment about the dialogue trees being forced, I'm actually thankful since one of the questions involved a bit of lore not everyone's familiar with since it's in an out-of-game source so I screwed up that question twice before getting it right.

I was also very satisfied in the heroside version how [redacted] was defeated. Sure we lost our [redacted] but their ultimate humiliation at the end was worth it.

The villainside version was very well villainous, though it does make one's actions in the heroside version feel a bit pointless in hindsight.
