I spy with my eye some interesting things
Powersets we would get later:
Super Willpower (as just willpower)
Darkness control (Though this may have been the early Dark Miasma)
Electricity control
Plant Control
Enemy groups:
Revelation
Twilight Men
Killing Crew
Fear Factor
Misc:
A type of fog that you could actually fly 'over'
A ranged power's ability to go through multiple targets without apparently being a cone
Fifth Column, Fifth Column everywhere. (Probably was THE first villain group they designed and that's why they're always seen in the alpha clips)
Not in this video, but another that had Jack Emmert Narrating mentioned Supergroup bases had been on the drawing board back in alpha. -
-Reichsman or Cole to shout "HERE COMES THE COLE TRAIN!" anytime they use Knock Out Blow.
-Arbiter Sands to change sides and the next Valentine's day event is the Sands Mynx wedding.
On the flipside of this...
-Arachnos cordially invites you (yes, even heroes) to the wedding of Lord Recluse and Red Widow. (Gifts are required, preferred ones include Competent Help)
-Emperor Cole singing "The Candyman Can"
-Reichsman's "Player defeat" dialogue is "YES! YES!"
-Steelclaw writes the next SSA series. (Something light hearted as a break from the doom and gloom)
-Positron telling us to "back off, man, I'm a scientist." -
-
The flying disc is cool and a fun mini-game for players, but 250 points seems a bit much. especially since, unless they fixed things in beta, there's a chance you can permanently lose it.

Quote:Yes, I would have preferreda bit of a revamp to Statesman, and here's what I would have done.Would you prefer that he be "rebooted" to be grittier and more realistic? throw darts at the diversity board and see what he gets changed to? "Let's see here, you hit crippled, narcissistic, sex-maniac, warmonger, black, and hispanic. Hand this to Tony and tell him to have the backstory written by tomorrow, or we throw two extra darts."
Cole, being the Well's champion, convinces the Well to withdraw all of it's support from Statesman (actually, to make to make it better, have the SSA up to part five go on as normal but Statesman is stripped of his powers JUST BEFORE Wade activates his trap, causing it to have no effect on the completely human marcus cole) leaving him a normal human once more. He feels weak and inquietude, but watching BaB, Bluesteel, Manticore, our own characters, and countless others continue to battle inspires him and all this helps give him a new lease on life.
He's no longer immortal so he becomes bolder in dealing with Arachnos because he doesn't have all the time in the world now to make it a better place, at the same time he begins to reconnect with everyone.
Starting by becoming a low level contact who would, from all plotlines forth, be contactable in new or revamped content like Keith Nance was at the end of the Roy Cooling arc or the countless villain contacts in the Vincent Ross arc.
Basically, you can always count on being able to call on Marcus Cole for some form of help with your tasks.
BOOM!
Stripped of his powers and forced to retake his stock on life, you can do a lot with his character, making him mortal and stripped of the Well's power after having it for so long justifies him sending others out, and by having him be a low level contact who has a reoccurring function, it helps better establish his new personality and gives him value to the players. -
Okay, folks are talking about CoT lore pets and I'd kind of like that myself, people are also talking about two different branches: the demons and the mages.
I think we can work with something here.
Demons could get a Behemoth Overlord, Hordeling Berserker, or a spectral daemon as a lieutenant pet, Hellfrosts as a boss pet, and Succubus as a support pet.
Mages could have a beefed up elemental thorn casters or a spectral daemon (who are supposed to be the spirits of Oranbega) as the lieutenant pet, three out of four of the arch mages are potential boss pets, and madness mage or a life mage as a support pet. -
Not to mention I recall these being meant for Chinese New Year which was nearly two months ago.
-
Actually, doing a bit of head math, The Clockwork King could have been as young as fourteen when Bluesteel MURDERED HIM.

My main character: Akuma Ryu is a time displaced Samurai. He was actually a few hundred years too late to personally know Musashi, but his parents named him both after an ancestor with the same name as well as Musashi's birth name (Takezo).
Though personally he favored the teachings of Yagyu Munenori's Secrets of the Family Sword/Way of the Living Sword. (This makes for an odd anachronism since Secrets of the Family Sword was not available for reading outside of the Yagyu family until the Meiji era)
Going further back, his clan was severely reduced in size and power due to their opposition of Tokugawa.
His family, the Himura, had been elevated to nobility centuries before from being commoners, the same thing happened to Tokugawa when he was taken under the wing of Oda Nobunaga. But when Tokugawa assumed full power after Nobunaga's death, he barred the caste system so peasants could never rise to nobility, an act the Himura clan considered treachery against the people.
Unfortunately, the Himura ultimately were defeated and by the time my main character was born, he, his mother, father, and sister were all that were left of an noble family. -
Quote:And so did I, but when I found out she was an adult, I was able to accept it and not desperately cling to the idea of her being a child or accuse the devs that this was inconsistent writing.Without judging your chosen buzzwords, they pretty much all boil down to the fact that many of us didn't think of her as "child-like", we thought of her as a child, period.
Turning her into a mid-twenties adult is a bit more chaw than we were prepared to chew.
The devs have shown lots of poor writing consistency in the past, but this wasn't one of them.
Edit: You want inconsistent writing on Penelope Yin? Here's one from Agent G

We won't be able to hide Penelope Yin's powers anymore, so we're arranging some tutoring from Sister Psyche, Aurora Borealis, and others for her. Arachnos and the Sky Raiders still have their bases here, but I feel confidant Longbow and the PPD will be able to contain them. -
((I apologize, this next post is satirical and filled with blantant exaggerations but... Sometimes this is how this thread is translating in my mind.))
I can't help but be vaguely reminded of some buzzwords from 4chan that feel they aptly describe some people's rebellion to the idea of Penny becoming a hero: Autistic, Waifu, White knighting.
"What? she can't be a hero now! It ruins my views of her as a sweet, naive, pure flower!"
"She couldn't have developed attitude problems from people treating her the way I see her! That ruins her child-like cuteness!"
"Why is she dressed like a skank! Nooooo! Mai waifu!" -
Quote:I don't really have an OP comment, but on this I'd like to say that I would prefer/hope to see instead: Arachnos remains obviously evil but become much more affably evil.My current theory is that Arachnos will end up as a more Praetorian-like organization (friendly face, evil machinations behind the scenes), since this seems to be a pet theme of some the writing devs, but we'll have to see.
Lord Recluse will lend a hand to lesser villains, even assist heroes to stop world ending disasters and provide information.
But in truth they'll still put a bullet or knife in your back if you cross them wrong or are closer to taking over the world than they are. -
((WARNING: I MEAN NO INFLAMMATORY OR BIAS RACIAL REMARKS IN THIS POST. I'M ONLY STATING WHAT I'VE OBSERVED IN MY EXPERIENCE))
Actually it might be because she's Asian.
Whenever I shave, people in my class mistake my for my late teens, my dad, were it not for his salt and pepper hair, is sometimes mistake to be in his forties or thirties, my sister is easily mistaken for teenager despite being older than me.
A dentist's assistant who used to work at my, well, dentist's office looked to be in her early twenties when she was only a few years younger than my parents.
Heck, my grandfather is in his 90s and still looks the same as he did twenty years ago, so this should tell you something. -
And the wait for dual Pistols to become available to players was about a two years when thugs MMs got them and then another four before they got their own powerset?
-
We actually do have the kilt with the center flap, though it's actually multiple thongs hanging from the belt.
If you read the comments, DN himself mentions that the problem was partly a matter of time and because translating 2D art into 3d models is difficult.
also the 3D art department apparently hates bows. -
Hmm, might be cool to at least see production of one of your videos.

Quote:I disagree, Steel Canyon is supposed to be the Financial District of Paragon, so perhaps it should be treated as such.I'd like to see Steel Canyon remade as a kind of "science city" - like it'd be the heart of the research and tech industy in Paragon City, and all the major science based corporations and institutes would have their main offices there.
The architecture would have a bit of futuristic feel to it, like the area around Neuron's Tower in Neutropolis, with all the neon stuff.
Now if you want a science City somewhere on Primal Earth, Aeon City in Cap Au would make a prime candidate, especially if we expanded on the Luddite village we could have something like this:

Quote:Not really on the latter part, they've already been doing that for some time. What's weird about this is that there has been a bit of time spent on Ms. Liberty's new model - they've either ported over bits of the clubwear pack to fit the NPC rig, or used a player rig, and ported over a sword and scabbard for it - which could be significant
What i'm surprised at is that they didn't use Arbiter Hawk to show case some of the male Clubwear, maybe with a few Arachnos things on him to remind you "Yes, this is an Arbiter" -
Living in Paragon
Fighting villains from the Isles
Gotta hit tier nine
And leave them in a big dead pile!
I dig super heroes!
You! Dig! Super heroes!
CHICKS! DIG! SUPER HEROES!
Nice! -
