Quote:Yeah, to the point that if they added new EATs V-side would get mad, partially correct.A Rikti AT is something I am still dearly hoping for.
If we got some more, dare I say it, NPC parts, then Longbow and PPD we have covered anyway.
PPD Hardsuit AT, now, that I could get behind. Or a general 'heavy armour' set.
Incorrect part: the ATs themselves will probably be able to switch sides also.
Correct part: If a kheld goes rogue they will no longer get to access the storyline contacts for khelds, hence making the "epic" part of EAT pointless.
The way I see it any NEW epic ATs, will be available to both sides. Very easy to do even with PPD and Mu.
Being able to make a villain ppd or heroic mu would just mark them as rogue from level one. This ofcourse would mean that the devs would have to make storylines for them ON BOTH SIDES.
It would be easier to make all EPIC ATs universal with one central co-op zone being their current starting point. That means it could be RWZ (Rikti), Cim (Mu), Prat (PPD-type). -

Uhhh, huh? When I just looked at it, it was green.

Quote:They should create some recipes/IOs that can use some of that excess stuff.I'm not tying up a slot for a 5 inf sale.
I list my junk salvage for 1, whatever doesn't insta-sell gets deleted.
It would be nice if there were something else I could do with it- more depth of gameplay is a good thing.
It's a missed opportunity because junk isn't fun.
All drops will never be created equal, but if the game had a system in place to make junk meaningful in some way (like WoW's system of buying rep) it would add more complexity & fun to the game.
Oversupply isn't a "problem" per se- that salvage certainly isn't hurting anybody just sitting around like that.
But it could be used to generate more fun. -

The devs are on a roll!

And if I hadn't said it before, nice job Goat.

Quote:None other than the fact, that casual players don't need IOs.Well hey if you want to use SOs exclusively, no one's gonna stop you!
Or, did you have some other point here?
But we knew this already. As stated perfectly by the examples posted just above your post.
Carry on. -
Quote:I wouldn't mind a fee. I ALREADY transfer inf via the market (cross server like) easily. The fee didn't bother me there. They won't be forced to pay the fee either way. If you're transferring large amounts, you can always get a trusted friend to help you do the transfer, like people with a single account do now.
I am hoping there will be a fee. QoL things like this are a great place to implement inf sinks with minimal complaining.
/shrug. -
Quote:You're more patient about dealing with the silliness of comparing a real life consignment house with a fake video game one.A real consignment house- or THAT real consignment house- doesn't take 5% of your attempted sale price up front, either. (Real-life one is a variant on Yog's Law, I suspect.)
I would have just typed EPIC FAIL and be done with it. -
Quote:this is really all that needs to be said.Okay, so you want to add something to the market to allow players a snap decision about buying and selling stuff on the spot.
Hmm.
- The last 5 or 6 sales are listed for each item - including the date (some may not have this if they have been off the market for a while).
- The market lists how many people are bidding and how many items are up for sale.
I think what would really improve the market - in the minds of casual gamers - is a little more patience and a little less "Gotta get them all right now!"
If you HAVE TO sell it now, then you are going to get a lower price than if you posted and waited unless here are a zillion bids and none of the item on the market (and you might even still not get a high of a price as you could have if you would have posted it for higher than what it ended up selling for and waited for someone to pay what you were asking for it)
If you HAVE TO have it now, get ready to shell out the big bucks unless there are 0 bids and a zillion on the market. -
Quote:Why on earth would ANYONE who sees the highest bid of 2mil bid 50 mil over top?The buyer sees the highest bid of 2,000,000 and bids 50,000,000 over top of it. Or 100M, or 200M.
Why doesn't the buyer, who paid more off market, bid more on the market?
I mean besides being a moron? -

Quote:Stamina runs perfectly fine with SOs. You don't need IOs.Everything in this game is a "want". That includes the Fitness pool everyone is so love with. Seriously, that's starting to get ridiculous.
You keep going that way, pretty soon you'll be talking about how all you really "need" in this game are sprint, rest, and brawl.
For example, in order to keep all my toggles running on my WP/DB tank (this includes Focused Accuracy from the Energy Mastery set), I needed to slot the Performance Shifter +END proc three times (in Quick Recovery, Stamina, and Physical Perfection). Combined with the Numina and Miracle sets (as well as Quick Recovery, Stamina, and Physical Perfection), I was finally able to get my tank to perform closer to what I always wanted. It's my intention to re-slot Physical Perfection with the Panacea set, and move the +Regen IO from the Regenerative Tissue set into Rise to the Challenge.
Phew, after typing all that out (and stopping every minute while trying to remember the names of all the powers and IO sets), I've totally forgotten what my point was. I think it was something about stop telling me what I can do in a videogame. 'Cause... it's a videogame! Yeah. Whatever. My tank is really cool to play. So there. -
Quote:Right. People sell them off market because they can get MORE for off market.I am aware that people sell PvP IOs off the market. People sell PvP IOs off the market because they are unable to get the price they want on the market.
What stops players from getting the price they want on the market when List amounts and Bid amounts are displayed?
The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. If you think otherwise show me. Make a demonstration. Show me what an item would look like, bid amounts, list amounts, and transactions off market.
Full stop.
People put stuff on the market because they want to make money. Your system would make that more difficult. Make it harder to inf via the market and you kill any incentive there is to sell items on the market. Worse case items would become more expensive, as folks would no longer undercut each other, they would list consecutively higher and higher prices.
The current blind system keeps everyone guessing and competitive by helping to keep prices low. Your system would be stupendously easy to manipulate.
Actually you know what I've changed my mind, go ahead and list them.

Quote:No need to fill out the form when there ALREADY IS an example of this. PVP IOs.Fill out the form. Show me how its possible and why people wouldn't use the market.
Even with them selling at the inf cap of 2 billion inf ON the market there are ALREADY NUMEROUS people selling off market for 3-4 billion. Why? Because they discovered they could simply MAKE more by selling off market.
If there isn't an incentive to sell items on the market, folks won't do it.
Many pvpers and market folks PREDICTED this.
Do you think folks just put stuff up on the market because they are nice? -
Quote:The problem is if folks can't get a good price for their items, they will sell them off market. There has to be an incentive to waste your time putting stuff on the market for there to be stuff or buyers to buy. Supply just doesn't magically show up on the markets. Someone has to be willing to put their stuff ON THE MARKET.Contradiction
Players look for a bargain. Instead of paying 2, 3, or 4 times the price off the market they will place a bid on the market for maybe 1.2, or 1.1 times the price.
Competition is the basis of economics and Supply and Demand. When buyers compete for few items they raise their bid price.
If they can get a better price off market, they will sell OFF MARKET. See the PVP IOs being sold off market as a recent example. -

Quote:He doesn't NEED the better things in the game AT ALL. No matter how he plays.
"casual" depends on the person. The way that YOU leveled yours may have been casual to YOU, but may not be casual as like, say, my cousin that plays whenever he can get 15$ from his parents. But don't worry, i'll tell him he don't need the better things in the game since he can't play like i or you do.
The game runs fine with just SOs.
IOs are completely 100% a WANT.
So again, no he doesn't NEED the better things. -
You'll have to forgive me, as I never saw what was so fun about fighting giant monsters that aren't part of accolade requirements, OUT OF AE, let alone in it.
-
Quote:Despite what the problems are with the rating system, with it in place, authors will pretty quickly find out that players would find such a mission idiotically tedious.I think it might be fun to have a mission where the goal is to click some glowies, but you need to sneak past some Giant Monsters to do it.
I think it's great that they are still improving AE. But I can't help but think of the evil new missions that could be created now. Like a huge map where you need to get to the very end in order to trigger an objective at the very front who needs to be escorted to the very back... and then you have to walk all the way out the front door to exit, for no reason. Of course, chained objectives can already be annoying beyond endurance pretty easily now. -
