Hmm. My wife and I celebrate 10 years of marriage tomorrow (29/9). She used to play, but hasn't joined me for a while. How many points to unlock more free time for her?

Oh, I understand completely about not wanting one's own villain to be poorly written. I even mentioned that. I wouldn't want my characters to be portrayed as lackeys, either.
I suppose a compromise might be to have a signature villain tagged in some way (even randomly) to be the hero's archenemy. They could pop up periodically to make the hero's life miserable. How about a long story arc that covers levels 1-50, with missions only coming up every so often-- perhaps a total of 20 missions during a character's career. As the character grows stronger, so, too does the enemy, with a final battle occuring at level 50 or thereabouts. They could make a couple of these "career arcs" and have them randomly assigned to a character at creation. Or, if time and resources allowed, perhaps one such arc or recurring villain for each archetype. -
... they were talking about making an archenemy system, where you could have a recurring opponent for your character? I wish they would look into that again.
While playing "Who Will Die? Part 1", I thought of this again when Echidna attacked. I kind of like having the Rogues Gallery of recurring villains for us to face, but I would really like having one of my own villains be the one to jump in at that point to fight my hero. I wondered how hard it would be (or if it would be even possible) for the game to pick one of my villains from my account to come after the hero I was playing.
Now, this won't always work, since not everyone has a villain character and due to power level differences. Even if 2 characters are at the same level, I tend to RP a bit, imagining my Inv/ SS tanker to be near Superman in ability, while my favourite Stalker is just a normal, highly-trained human. I would find it odd to have them face off against each other. Also, I know that many people would dislike having their character show up in a story arc as a servant or pawn to the main villain.
Still, I think it could be a neat experience to create a villain and link it to a hero (perhaps in a way similar to level pacts) and have the villain pop up from time to time in missions.
Just a thought. -
Quote:Hmm, that explains it. I haven't gotten around to that arc yet. It's in the training arcs from Twinshot - Grym mentions it, and so does Blue Steel - which goes against the offical website info on the Skulls.
Maybe it's just these Skulls in this arc.
"Y'know Fred, maybe I'll skip the whole 'real skull' thing right now, while I'm on my trial membership..." -
I was also surprised to see it was a lvl 20 arc, simply because I was anticipating an "epic" story in 7 parts. I figured it would require a high-level character. Mostly, though, I was worried that I wouldn't survive it with my tank dropping to less than half her usual strength. I keep her at x6 difficulty most times and worried that this would be the end of me, but figured I'd give it a shot anyway.
I found it fairly hard and quite a bit slower than usual, given my fewer attacks, but I had fun and it wasn't half as bad as I'd feared. I'm not sure about the majority of plaers, but my characters always seem to hold up pretty well when exemped. -

Canon vs Cannon.
We are talking about "canon". Big guns are "cannon."

I haven't seen this new reference to the Skulls wearing faicepaint. That's... odd.

While we're discussing bugs... is anyone else still having to click on the laucher, then CTRL,ALT,DEL, then end process, then click on the launcher again to play?
-
Huh.
Well, that sucks, since they show as available. When the Freedom screen came up, I figured they were early. -
Ok, so it's downloaded and patched. I see a number of servers (including my home Liberty) showing as available, but clicking on it says I am "not allowed on this server. reason:" followed bo no reason.
Do we have to start on Exalted? Because it's not letting me on there, either. -
Actually, the other day i had occasion to go to Galaxy with one of my characters and I found myself taking the scenic route through the zone. I looked at the pedestrians and various people coming and going and had this odd feeling that soon, very soon... they would all be dead. My hero wanted to warn them to escape, but of course, that's player knowledge that he wasn't actually privy to...
I left feeling kind of sad. -
Quote:Yeah, that's similar to my situation. I have experienced *one* double xp weekend. I remember suggesting that people who didn't log on once during a double xp weekend be given a temp power that-- once activated-- would give 48 hours of double xp. People scoffed at the idea, but the market will give us something similar.Well speaking for someone who works very long days, early in the morning until evening. And almost every weekend....no pity here. I never see Double XP etc. It doesn't matter what day or hour, someone won't be able to enjoy things. Though 4 days notice, well since they wanted this out on Sept 1, I can see not leaving in longer.
Sick day for a game? Really? Wow. I couldn't justify doing that (wish I could lol) -
If something goes live tonight, when I am working 8 AM to 10:30 PM both Saturday and Sunday, while being away from home with no internet access...
...I will exact bloody revenge. -
Yeah, I got this to work, thanks. I basically wanted to do a flashy costume change and then come out of it hovering in a new costume with an aura... The whole "power up" kind of thing. This works well.
Thanks -
Could someone offer up a macro that would simultaneously:
1. change my costume
2. do a cc emote
3. activate a power (hover)
I'd appreciate any help with this. I have managed to do macros before, but I am doing something wrong with this and it isn't working.
Thanks -

Quote:My very first character, Maiden Canada, was/ is a 15 year-old girl. I made her an Inv/ SS Tanker because I liked the idea of this skinny little girl that villains would constantly underestimate, who would be (in my mind at least) nearly on a par with Superman. After all these years, she remains one of my two favourite characters. Slightly more than half of my characters are female and they all tend to be melee types.Idle side note: I don't know when this started, but mine are almost entirely the reverse. Almost all of my strongest, heaviest fighters are women and most of my lighter characters are men. If I had to put a reason to this, it's because I find the "big strong man" concept more than a little boring, bland and done to death...

Well, if I can get away with spending less than $1000, I'd be happy. I suppose that I would be able to go up to about $1200. However, if I was told that to get the performance I am asking for, it would be a minimum $1800, I'd accept that. I'd just have to wait several months longer to pursue it.

I always thought a Star Trek anthology show could be fun. No regular cast, just rotating guest stars, along the lines of Twilight Zone, Amazing Stories, etc. This week, Earth. Next week, Klingon Empire. Week after, some random Orion Pirate getting caught up in some deep space escapade, or whatever. They could explore the Trek Universe from multiple angles, go in-depth with certain parts previously only hinted at and perhaps have an over-arching story tying it all together.

Well, I would be just as happy with a desktop (happier, even if it gave better performance, cheaper). I just got used to playing on my current laptop, which is the best system I have at the moment, so I was kind of speaking with that in mind. I don't mind either way. Money is the biggest issue.
