Okie I want to ask a related question, also yay first post.
What about the fact that fire has 4 situational useless powers.
1 Temp protection... really useless... there isnt enough fire or cold for it to matter.
2 Fiery embrace... situational, unless you are fire/fire its usefullness is highly questionable.
3 Rotp..... a tank shouldnt need a self res and it doesnt even come close to being as good as granite or unstop
4 Burn... a power that deaggros mobs and makes them run and gets your team killed is questionable at best.
Also what about the contention that regen can take more damage over time than fire.

another question. do mobs run away from your rain of arrows?
-
[ QUOTE ]
- If you fire at a fresh mob from a distance and miss, the mob(s) react before the arrow is even released.
- There is some serious downtime between Ranged Shot and your next attack.
- Quirky graphics bugs - sometimes your character will hold their bow off to the side when they are in fact shooting.
- Fistful of Arrows feels kinda wimpy.
- I've heard this but am too impatient to test it - supposedly Aimed Shot costs a disproportionate amount of endurance.
- The accuracy bonus. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this almost feels like a shortcoming since sacrificing an acc enhancement would leave you with less accuracy than other blasters (75% base + 75*(.33) vs. 85% base) or taking one would leave you with less dmg.

totally agree according to my experience. mobs attack you before you even fire the arrow is one of the animation buggy. and it sux because you can move while you are in the animation of attacks. my style of soloing is "Hit n Run n Hit n Run" but now i cant even keep safe distance from mobs. thats really bad. -

Man I'm having a blast with my natural arch/dev blaster. Throw down some caltrops and stand n em or pick a nice tight corridor and make a caltrop barrier and twang away. A web grenade here and a taser there to help things out and I can stand fairly well against a group of baddies.

lol. what lvl is that? lvl 7s? 5s? or 42s? 46s? -
I played Archer/Ice blaster to lvl 16 on the test. currently Im playing Archer/Energy blaster on live, lvl 21 now. The worst part of this set that i could think of is the animation is fairly long, plus there are a few buggy animation of this set. for example, sometimes when you use Aim, the animation shows that you are shotting, in fact i have nothing in targetted. that really kills Aim's active time. if you want to use build-up+aim, it could barely get you 2 attacks within the time limit.
whats the secondary effect for archery attacks? i heard that the set only provides higher accuracy? am i correct about this. need confirmation. thank you.
thank you for reading this, i will update more information as i lvl up. BTW, Defiance really sux. i couldnt have chance to use it most of the time. my healers usually heal me up to full health in just 1 try. what can i do? tell them to not heal me, because i want to use my almighty defiance? that aint working. low hp blasters just die the way to fast. -
Defiance gives a little bit help at low levels. but it rarely helps at high levels fights. NO, ABSOLUTELY NO blasters want their HP drop below 40%. Tell me are there any high level blasters say "please dont heal me, let me drop my HP to 40%, cause defiance owns!!" i dont see any so far. my idea of fixing defiance and balance out blasters is:
80% HP >> 50% DMG; 5% Resist(all but psy); 5% Defense(all but psy).
60% HP >> 100% DMG; 20% ACC; 10% Resist(all but psy); 10% Defense(all but psy)
40% HP >> 150% DMG; 33% ACC; 15% Resist(all but psy); 15% Defense(all but psy)
20% HP >> 200% DMG; 50% ACC; 20% Resist(all but psy); 20% Defense(all but psy)
5% HP >> 300% DMG; 66% ACC; 25% Resist(all but psy); 25% Defense(all but psy).
I might not have the best number, but i think i explained my idea. please think about it Devs. -

I must be retarded.
I tried those out, but it still is not working. I
/bind_load_file c:\cohbinds\mouselook1.txt
from within the game, it says the keybind loads, and all that happens is my arrow keys set themselves to turnleft and turnright. Nothing changes when I hit the right mouse button.
For the record, I tried those exact same binds using "mouse2" instead of "rbutton" as well, and that also doesn't work.
What could I be doing wrong?
[/ QUOTE ]
maybe its inside of your bind files. can you post whats in it? -
thats much helpful info. thnx
-
just a quick question:
is there a bind which allows me to run all the toggles i want? yes in one bind... ty -
ahh.. maybe im using range attacks. its for my controller. its PVP bind. hate ppl running around when they have low hp. guess it wont work for range attacks..

Whenever I try to chain TP Foe and an attack (Energy Transfer, in this case), I get a macro which launches once and then queues said attack instead of going back to the TP Foe section.
/macro BAM "powexec_name Teleport Foe$$powexec_name Energy Transfer"
Can someone point out my stupidity? Please?
[/ QUOTE ]
Apperantly this might work:
/bind <any key> "+ $$powexec_name Energy Transfer$$powexec_name Teleport Foe"
Normally you can only activate one power with in a action. If you assign it to a key the "+ " (notice the space after the +) tells it to do the command on key press and key release. You want to reverse the order of the comands, as the last command tends to get activated, each one cancelling the previous one. In the case of toggle powers the last power that would turn on gets activated. You could do this with 2 macros the first one caling the second one by its tray possition, but if you ever moved the second macros possition you'd have to recreate the first one.
[/ QUOTE ]
/bind <any key> "+ $$powexec_name Energy Transfer$$powexec_name Teleport Foe"
This worked well by clicking for TP and releasing for attack.
I was surprised to be getting read error messages using the bind files solution. No amount of tweaking could make it work.
Thx guys.

i tried this bind. it will ask me for the location for teleport foe while the attack is on its way. O_O what did i do wrong? here is my bind:
/bind lalt+z "+ $$powexec_name mental blast$$powexec_name teleport foe"
please help. ty -
sure it does, i bind japanese into my beginchat bind, and it works well ingame

For my Dark Defender I could do it like this:
(after selecting team target)
/bind lcontrol+lmouse "t $target, Ever been violently pulled through a hole in the nether world before? Well now's your chance!$$powexecname recall friend"
[/ QUOTE ]
if that is what exactly you have in your binds, there are a few mistakes.
1). lmouse, should be lbutton (if im not mistaking, there is not such thing "lmouse")
2). powexecname, should be powexec_name
hope they are typos :P
back to the topic. yes. i did same binds as you. but the problem is, for example, i have a earth controller. i already have 3 Located AoE, i couldnt find any other key combination for my pets AND recall friend. anyone has good ideas? ty -
[ QUOTE ]
to get a puase between couldn't just make it say something
eample
/bind 1 "powexec_name Punch$$local float like a butter fly$$powexec_name Jab$$local sting like a bee$$powexec_name Haymaker$$local rumble young man rumble"
would the be enough time if the animation time was quick?
just wondering i havev't played with bind yet
[/ QUOTE ]
no it wont. for binds, it doesnt matter the order, and there is no time laggs between / commands. thats one of the reason why u cant execute 2 powers in one bind. -
[ QUOTE ]
You can only combine shift/alt/ctrl with other keys. Your combination of numpad2+lbutton will not work.
[/ QUOTE ]
so for recall binds, u will HAVE to use mouse to select the location? -
[ QUOTE ]
Xia, a simple one would be:
Keybind:
/bind <key> "powexec_name Recall Friend$$team Get ready $target, your taxi has arrived."
Macro button:
/macro <name_of_macro> "powexec_name Recall Friend$$team Get ready $target, your taxi has arrived."
[/ QUOTE ]
thnx for the info, but after pressing the key/macro that you bind, u have to use your mouse to select the location. im too lazy to do that. :P
i created this bind:
/bind numpad2 select_teammate 2
/bind numpad2+lbutton "powexec_name recall friend$$team $target, Stand clear! Im going to TP you!"
first attempt was great, but weird thing happened. when i click left mouse button, it will automatically select THE NEAREST FRIEND!?!?!?...... what did i do wrong? anyone help? -
does anyone has beautiful "recall friend" binds? so i can just press one button(or one combination), then i will be teleporting teammates, ALSO at the same time notify them that im doing the recall action.

Why didn't I load this with more healing? Simple - I want healing on demand, not big green numbers. Sure, I can get bigger numbers than an empathy defender but I'd rather a couple hundred points of healing when I need it than a whole lot of healing (which is probably wasted when used since the target really just needed a couple hundred points to top them up...) but not have it when needed. With perma-hasten and 2 recharges, this power is available almost every time I need it. The 1 accuracy is to help minimize the "oh, crap! I missed!" It still happens, even with the accuracy SO and tactics running, but it's very rare. Currently, on live, I heal for about 380 points of damage - on test (with the new version coming) I heal for just over 500 (503, iirc). Plenty of healing regularly. I can spam this heal in large, chaotic fights (which I love) because I know it'll be back up soon enough.

transfusion u meant :P -
yes, your build is good. but for soloing, it seems it can only be done after lvl 44. (after u fully slotted temp inv) otherwise, defender is hard to solo big groups.
