A new month is upon us and I just wanted to update the numbers.
Last month, the group stood at 352. We have increased our total by 5 and we now stand at 357.
I want to welcome all the new members and extend an invitation to all to join our group.

I don't want and brouhaha at all. In creating the channel, I was hoping for it to be more inclusive and quicker to respond to the needs of the server (which is why it's an open channel as well). I don't want folks to pick one channel over another. I have been on the Guardian channel for a long time. However, the core moderators of the channel have not opened it up for others to be moderators, etc. Some of those moderators have left to pursue other games, RL, etc. We're the brouhaha free channel!!

Good evening. I know it's been asked before and I was wondering as to why the cap has not been increased for chat channels in the game. I know it's not the most pressing matter in the game, but how difficult would it be to raise the cap by 5 or 10? I hope that at some point it could be considered. I thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I wanted to introduce a new channel that will hopefully make it easier for new players and current / returning players to join. The current Guardian channel has been around for a long time. However, a closed channel with limited moderators does not allow for quick integration of new players into the Guardian family. I felt that it would be best to introduce a new channel for Guardian. As such, I hope you will join the Guardian Server channel.

These are our moderators (as of 06/20/2012 we won't be adding any more moderators until further notice):

The moderators above can add new members to the channel in a quick and timely manner. We tried to spread the moderators out in different time zones to try and make sure we have someone on there at all times. If you don't see an moderator on, send us a global message or feel free to contact us in-game and on this forum post as well.

This channel is open and PG-13. We have kids that play on the server and we should respect our younger players as well as others who may not find such conversations appropriate. In the end, I hope we can build a channel that will make it easier for new players to be welcome to the server as well as our veteran players as well. PLEASE NOTE that if the open nature of the channel is abused, we may close the channel. If that were to occur, I would add a few more moderators to be extra certain that there will always be a moderator available.

For those who have left the Guardian server because you did not feel at home or welcome, I hope you will give Guardian another chance.

SuperFerret, Omega is going to provide a transcript of the Round Table. I was in and out due to my gall bladder pain that is making my life quite miserable. As soon as the transcript is available, I will post it here and on the Guardian Facebook page as well for maximum dissemination.

Gotta chime in on the Facebook thing. Capa, you are correct that not everyone uses or is a member of Facebook. That's an individual choice. However, the page serves it's function for those who do use Facebook and in running the page over the past couple of years, it's a good source of information for those who don't like or use the forums. I figured that if the information is out there in as many avenues as possible, then it's a good thing. This is just another avenue to disseminate information on the server and it's events, etc.

Sadly, the forums have been lacking in a while and the biggest draw for a long time were the "ban the user above you" and the "blame the poster above you" posts.

I have nothing against the forums myself, and I wish more folks would use them. In the end, I feel that if we can coordinate the message on both the forums and the Facebook page, it will be helpful as well as show some life on the forums.

Thanks to Omega for putting this together and seeing so many players out there shows that there is a core group of individuals that want to see Guardian grow and be more open and engaging to new players as well as those who left for whatever reasons they chose to leave. Guardian is my home and always will be. I hope to do whatever I can to help make Guardian stronger and a better experience for all.

Next update, July 1st

Hello everyone! The month of April has come and gone. We usually get a few members join in every month, but this month was something totally different. This past month saw our biggest increase in group members. This past month we added 53 new players to the group!! The group now stands at 341!!!

So, we still continue to be the biggest server based group on Facebook!!

To my Guardian family, I am honored to maintain this portal to the game that we love so much. Guardian is the BEST!!

I don't see a major issue with this. While I don't think the devs will do it, it's not a bad idea in my opinion.

It was a nice turnout last night for the raid. Shadow Ravenwolf put up a link on the Guardian Facebook page with the link to this forum post asking for input. Thanks for putting on the raid last night, and hopefully looking forward to more raids in the future.

I try to attend from time to time, but usually by the time I get home and am done with housework and what not, I am drained.

I post the event weekly on the Facebook page to keep folks informed. As the forums have dwindled in use over the last few months, alot of folks use the Facebook page to communicate and whatnot.

I was also concerned with the lack of weekly updates as to the event itself. There was a bit of a lull and folks could take that as the event not being run anymore.

Well, I do hope they continue and if so, they will be announced on the Facebook page as well to help in having more folks join in. I'll even drink a 5-Hour Energy and join in on these more frequently if I have to

Last month we ended up with 265 members and we had a net increase of +6, so we are 271 strong!

I took two weeks off from updating the Facebook page. 50 weeks on and 2 weeks off! =)

The forums have died down dramatically over the last year and while some folks prefer getting their information from here, I basically make the Facebook page an easier source to get information on events and what not. Not everyone is on Facebook as well, so those folks get their news right here on the forums or in-game.

Starting on Monday the 2nd, I'll be back to updating the Facebook page once again. I'll be more than happy to put your events as you post them. You can always contact me via Facebook or send me a PM in the forums or in-game. In the end, anything to help your (or anyone else's) events get going, I'll be more than happy to help out with.

I usually post your events on the Guardian Facebook page. I noticed from when you first posted that this was supposed to be a bi-weekly event. Did I misread or was that changed recently.
I try to browse the forums daily to update the page with any new events and as I remember seeing that it was bi-weekly, I did not even bother to read the post that you had a new event.
The themed events are a good idea. If you decide to run another one, the sooner you post the particulars, the better. I will be happy to post your future runs and give you another avenue to promote your event.
I have run a couple of other events you have done in the past and they were fun. I recently have not been playing much since my job has been kicking me where the sun don't shine and I get home only to faceplant on a pillow.
Good luck with future runs and if I am able, I'll be happy to join.

EDIT: Also, if you edit a post, it does not show as a new posting (which would have put your post near the top and in bold where I would have noticed it better), which I just realized as you had posted the new event (via edit) on the 8th.

So....after eating way too much turkey (and everything else in between) and finally getting over that tryptophan sluggishness, we are in the final month of 2011. It's crazy to see how time just flies by.

So, let's update the big board.

Last month we had 258 members in our Facebook page. I am happy to say we have added some more new faces to the group and we now currently stand at 265 members (a net increase of 7). So, thank you for those who have joined.

Come January, it will be 2 years since I took over the reigns of the Facebook page and it's come a long way. I could not have done it without all you good people and I look forward to 2012 and beyond (as I will be signing up for another 14 month stretch this month, which will keep me in game up to April 2013).

Also, wanted to thank you all for running these events in the server. Not too many groups run events anymore and it's good to see that you all have done so and have done great work. Enjoy your time off for the holidays and I look forward to participating (where real life allows it) in future events by The Empire of the Damned.
