  1. I was stuck and ran across this thread so this is for anyone else that gets stuck and runs across this like I did!

The two badges that are hard to get (other than the cross-zone badges) are 17 and 18 in Neutropolis. Both bridges are in the water so you can't swim under them. The badges seem to be off the location in vidiotmaps.

Just in the water north of the bridge near 17 and go east and west pressed up against the bridge ALL THE WAY to the shore. You will hit it.

In the water south of the bridge near 18 about half way east between the center (where the 18 marker is) and the shore pressed up against the bridge.

    These two were the WORST!

    To Recap:
    Do 1 - 8 in Nova Praetoria
    Do 9 - 16 in Imperial City
Do 17 - 19 in Neutropolis w/ 18 and 19 being in the water north and south of the bridges (respectively).

I've now got River Rat on a half dozen toons. It's easy once you know the spots!
  2. For the past couple of days CoH has been locking up when opening the Costumes Window. I guess this is a known issue.

But I'm also locking up when entering my base. It doesn't matter which server or base I'm trying to get into or how I get there (Base 'Porter or Base Portal), the client locks up. It's getting rather discouraging.

It works intermittently. Sometimes when I close Precision with CoH open it crashes and I get that 'CoH has encountered an error, so tell us what you were doing when it happened so we can fix it' thing.

However, if closing Precision doesn't crash CoH, then yes it does work.

I've had similar experiences when changing settings. If I change any of the ultra settings when I click apply my entire field of view goes black. I still have my map and target and menu bars and stuff but everything else is black. If I hit tab it changes targets like it's supposed to. I can't remember if I still get a targeting bracket, but it's all black black black.

PS Sorry I didn't update sooner. I got busy for a couple of days and didn't get a chance to log in!
  4. Actually, yes, I AM using Precision. That's weird! I'll try and close Precision and see if it helps.
  5. I've looked through the forums and I haven't seen anything quite like my problem. The game runs fine in Ultra mode. When I quit CoH it just kind of hangs. I've let it sit for over 45 minutes before. I have to go into the Control Panel and stop the process.

I'm thinking it's probably something with my video, nVidia (eVGA) GeForce 8800 GTS 512.

  6. Not much secrecy at this point. The first mission in the arc is a simple teaser to get ya involved, so its just Rescue 5 Archeologists!

My custom group (heck, they're Minotaurs) has nothing in it except Minotaurs and 1 NPC. The NPC (Dr Simons) was the head archeologist so he was originally going to be rescued in this mission. However, every time his toon was THAT OLD TSOO GUY! In the white tights and the white (?) pony tail, iirc. He was also kneeling with his hands on his head and NOT cowering like he was supposed to be.

When this started happening I thought maybe I had done something so I deleted Dr Simons. He is actually gonna show up in Mission 3, so this worked out beter for my story line (him being gone). The only objective in this mission is to rescue the archeologists.

I believe both problems are bugs. Just because I have filled out all the field, as far as I can tell from talking to people and the documentation.

Page 2 of the little book:
    Release Captive Archeologist
    Captive Name: Archeologist
    Captive Type: Standard
    Captive Group: Civilian (1-54)
    Captive Name: Random

    Settings
    Mission Goal Created When: None
    Quantity: 5

    Enemy Group
    Custom Group: Minotaurs
    Captive Placement: Any
    Enemy Group Difficulty: Easy
    Surounding Group Alignment: Enemy

The rest is all texty stuff, so I'm not going to include that.

Do you think Bug or Error?

Oh, thanks, btw! I really appreciate the help.

    OFF TO WORK! (ug)
  7. The first mission in my arc is to rescue 5 archeologists from a group of Custom Critter Minotaurs. So I added a rescue mission objective and selected a Standard victim, Civilians (1 - 54) and Random. I don't really care what they look like.

Every single time, the archeologists are minotaurs. Is it a bug or am I totally doing something wrong?

I've got another problem in that I set a clue for when "all victims rescued" (mission objective met) and it keeps showing up when the first guy is rescued.

    This is SO weird!
