  1. So I know this is a rarely used combo, but I was still interested in trying it for different reasons - one of them being the concept of the character. In several renditions of the build I can cap resistances and play around with high defenses, but the bottom line has always been perma PA.

    That said I scrapped any plans for defenses and tried to chase down the constant Phantom Army. In this build I managed 63.7. I've tested PA and the last spawn seems to leave at around 63. Now, to me that seems to indicate that basically there are less guys distracing the mobs in a span of 3 seconds, but 63.7 is the best I could do factoring in a somewhat reasonable budget.

    Thought about the mace line, but can't get around disruptor blast and the kb when factoring in liquify and the phantasms kb in addition. And I'd like to have an AoE blast. When the stam line is made inherent, i'd probably grab f shield, consume, and sonic repulsion (to place on the phantasm when needed). Other choices would be f shield, flash, and sonic repulsion possibly. Left flash out initially because even with high recharge I don't think I get the value for it as far as slots and the power itself is concerned. Things will be occupied, in other words.

    Sonic Barrier and Haven underslotting is taken into account. For most toons starting out with 40% resist the 17% + dispersion will get them close to soft cap, although not so much for the tougher chars. Just can't find the slots.

    Vengeance, sup invis, maneuvers - all used for lotg recharges. Concerned about the low hp and regen, but Im not supposed to get hit, right? (actual question)

    If someone has the time, I could use some opinions.

  2. I'm at 2141 with this build and it's really the only thing that bothers me, along with a bit of a high end usage. Not sure what I can do to fix it atm - and manage to keep the defense/resist totals where they are (short of adding more kcombats, which I don't particularly like).

    I'm happy with the s/l def and the melee that resulted from slotting for it. Recharge is alright, with hasten it should be pretty quick most of the time. ROTP is a bit of a mule and I happen to be an advocate of it's viability.


    Specced out ice sword because it has become more and more of a filler that isn't getting used. With the change to burn, I find myself using mostly FT and Frost with FF for bruising. When they are through its pretty much time to do another burn patch. Then an ice patch etc...

    I realize FA isn't the most survivable tank out there - but I would think I should be able to keep most of this stuff and get to at least 2400-2500 hp. Travel has even been sacrified (ninja run available). here is the build:

    47% acc hard to increase without uncapping. Still might put hasten in the build.

  4. When I posted I'd referenced information in the forums regarding DA - yours (Dechs) was on of the ones I was referring to, so I'm glad to see a response from you.

    I'm going to go with your build input and slotting - as for focused accuracy, maybe I can swap it for SJ for convenience. Good idea on the merits, and I've seen that vid. Pushed me over the top for setting up a DA toon. Thanks for taking a look at it and putting the work into tightening up.

  5. The build is pieced together with a modestly expensive budget - no purples or hamis. After researching many of the DA threads and from my own experience, it looks as though it would be playable.

    However there are those of you with more experience than my own when it comes to the DA set and I am wondering if this build has any glaring holes. End usage is noticably higher on this toon than the others I've done, and I'm not sure if it's worth the effort to s cap s/l with no debuff resistance. I tried to keep recovery at a certain level and used tactics to make sure I can reliably hit stuff.

    DS more likely than not wouldn't be running very often, and CoF when there are enough minions to keep occupied for DR targets. At least that is the plan.

    Anyhow feel free to plug any holes, remember I'd like to not break the bank (something that may not be possible on a DA, I dunno) and if any of you can figure out how to make the damn kinetic combats go away, may you be visited by the Swedish beer and bikini team.

    I think they are probably there to stay if s/l cap is to be had.

    "See, that's why I let the homeless go on down the sewers and play with the Lost," he mumbles.

    At that point everything in front of him goes white as a nuke goes off and sends him flying through the far wall, through a tree, through a telephone pole, through an apartment building, through a taxi-cab, into an ally and into a bum eating from a can and oblivious to the destruction around him.

    The bum looks up with sad eyes and says, "That was my last can of Spam." Then he begins to cry.

    Rott looks across the way at Flame, shakes his fist, and says, "SEE WHAT YOU DID?? YOU DESTROYED THIS MAN'S LAST CAN OF SPAM!! HOW COULD YOU?? HIS SPAM!!"

    He kills Flame, as she dies from shame.

    "I thought City of Villains didn't come out until Jauary 2005," he says, looking over YFNDBA (who will from here on out be known as Y to this poster ). "Guess I was wrong."

    Rott pulls out the claws and makes like a vegetable shredder until Y is in tatters. "I'll be right here when you get back."

    Rott goes looking for the Immortal.
