Ivory Tower
((An elite club of super-powered dilettantes (ala the Hellfire Club), Ivory Tower more closely resembles a group like the Masons than a paramilitary organization or crime syndicate.))
Certain texts on secret societies claim that the Ivory Tower has existed for centuries, though no one living can verify that claim and the texts may be carefully contrived fakes. What is known for certain is that the Ivory Tower has been in existence since the Big Breakout.
In fact, the structure of the guild is such that a ruling class called the Arcana serve as the guiding powers to four Houses. Each House is has its own signature and follows rules and orders of the Ace of that House only. Ranks that follow are Kings, Knights, and Knaves.
To become a member, speak with a member or visit our public offices at ivorytower.forumer.com. After a brief time as an Initiate Knave, one will be prompted to select a House. Each House is equal to the other, but have specific roles to play within the Grand Schema.
The four Houses are as follows:
House of Scepters - the House of Leadership
House of Swords - the House of Strength
House of the Moon - the House of Wisdom
House of Pentacles - the House of Peace
The Initiate Knave should have conferred with the Ace of the House and proven the strength of his or her intent prior to actually declaring and being accepted into a House. Meetings are held weekly, and are generally brief.
((Ivory Tower is a RP-required VG that is made up of mature people who enjoy roleplaying (as opposed to "mature roleplayers"). We have a good core group, having stuck it out since the CoV beta, and have added many great players along the way. Our RP style is mostly improvisational though there are a couple of story arcs in play at the moment. We stay IC as much as possible in missions, as well.)) -
A couple of things I can point out here that may or may not be the case with the failed missions.
The hero WILL spawn if you give the hero enough time to arrive. Do not go far from the vault until the hero does arrive. I suppose it is possible that you might have gone beyond the hero's spawn point.
Secondly, when the hero does arrive, he or she is with a squad of Longbow agents. ALL of these agents must also be defeated to get credit for beating the hero. If one single agent is left behind, no credit. Do not leave the bank until you get the Mission Complete message.
Afterward you can always use whatever time you have left to mash more things and get more time to beat up on the local fuzz. -

I'm not a big fan of camping someone's base, but often it becomes necessary to collect bounty. Playing on my stalker, i frequently get a bounty target that will not come out of the area of the drones. Or someone that comes out, then runs back in as soon as they take any damage. If these people were totally impervious to harm, it would make the pvp there much less lucrative.

This perfectly illustrates why I said a long time ago that PvP should not be tied to any tangible reward other than to be able to say that you won.
Giving a reward for the beat down encourages bad behavior by those too motivated by gain to see that they are being total a$$e$ with their camping and griefing.
Take away bounty and much of the griefing goes away, too. -
((known in game as IvoryTower))
More of an elite club of super-powered dillitantes (ala the Hellfire Club) than a paramilitary organization or crime syndicate, Ivory Tower more closely resembles a group like the Illuminati.
In fact, the structure of the guild is such that a ruling class called the Arcana serve as the guiding powers to four Houses. Each House is unique and follows rules and orders of the Ace of that House only. Ranks that follow are Kings, Knights, and Knaves.
This does not imply that the Houses are at war with each other. In fact, each works with the others as a way to advance their own personal goals, often to the mutual benefit of the others. In advancing the power of the other Houses, the power of Ivory Tower advances as a whole.
To become a member, one has to be invited. (The best way to get invited is to make yourself and your interest known to a member, team with them a bit, because in the virtual world a reputation only lasts until you log off and alts diminish our steady state).
The four Houses and their Aces are as follows:
House of Sceptres - Lord Sumpremacy
House of Fools - Terrak Lune
House of Chaos - Coup Fatal
House of the Moon - Lady Felicia Frost
It is our intent to participate to the fullest extent in the game as designed while still maintaining the highest level of roleplay possible within the confines of the game. While we are a RP-Heavy guild, we are not hardcore to the point of discouraging new, inexperienced or uncertain roleplayers to join in the flow. Many excellent roleplayers I have known were shy about it, thinking they were unable until they had the chance.
ALSO - Please note that we were unable to secure the name Ivory Tower or The Ivory Tower, both of which had been claimed by someone else. Therefore, our guild label appears in-game as one word, IvoryTower. Accept no imitations. -
The benefit is you get out there and start accruing Prestige at a higher rate than newer guilds because you already have a strong membership.

Ivory Tower
The Ivory Tower voted to start up on Virtue at launch. More of an elite club of super-powered dillitantes (ala the Hellfire Club) than a paramilitary organization or crime syndicate, Ivory Tower more closely resembles a group like the Illuminati.
In fact, the structure of the guild is such that a ruling class called the Arcana serve as the guiding powers to five Houses. Each House is unique and follows rules and orders of the Ace of that House only. Ranks that follow are Kings, Knights, and Knaves.
To become a member, one has to be invited. (The best way to get invited is to make yourself and your interest known to a member, team with them a bit, because in the virtual world a reputation only lasts until you log off and alts diminish our steady state).
The five Houses are as follows:
House of Sceptres
House of Fools
House of Chaos
House of Swords
House of the Moon -
Name: S.P.E.C.T.R.U.M.
Motto: Super Powered Entities Committed to Regulating Unruly Malefactors
Leader(s): Quark.
Player Type: Any, but the hardest core powergamer will not be happy here
RolePlay?: Yes
Membership levels: Any.
SuperGroup Colours: Blue and Green (but no one is required to wear them, in fact, it would be better to wear your own colors)
Normal time of Gameplay: Evenings, and weekends anytime during the day (Eastern Time)
Other information: Think circa 70's Avengers or X-Men with a dash of Wild Cards thrown in.
The plan is to assemble a group of people who enjoy playing together, not just people looking for an affilliation and nothing more. It would be interesting to actually get people with costumes that represnt distinct colors of the spectrum (I have green covered, if so) but this is purely cosmetic and I am hoping for content first and foremost.
Quark. is a 26SL energy blaster who serves well as a sidekick (if anyone higher level joins) or will accept one if someone lower joins, so level is no obstacle either way.
Recruiting?: Yes. I know there are good roleplayers on Guardian, I run into them all the time but usually in the context of a pickup group.
Website: none -
I apologize for this thread. I thought I put it on the Guardian server forum. Maybe a mod moved it. It is out of place here and needs to be deleted.

I am looking for a roleplaying SG. Ideally it would be one that is fairly active and inclusive. My main character is Quark. but I also have a few others that I enjoy playing and would not mind some sort of themed group (nothing too corny, please).
I know Guardian is not a roleplay server per se but I have met a number of people who seem to naturally inclined to keep in character, even when on missions, and think that all it takes is 3-5 people (or more) with a love of comics (especially late 70's Marvel, like X-Men and the Avengers) to make for a first rate group.
Message me here or in game. Note that my in-game name has a period at the end.
Quark. 26 Energy/energy blaster
Jack Flash 15 Fire/fire blaster
Brigitte 12 Mind/Empath Controller
Animus. 9 Dark/Dark Defender
