I find it funny when I defeat Brutes and Stalkers with my Defender. The usual reply I get is 'Cheater, you can't use that wind thingy! I can't hit you with it on you noob!'
I think the most fun thing to do is find a Ninjitsu Stalker, thinking he's all brilliant, jumping around (me with +perc of course), ASing everyone. He knows I'm there, but he sees my hurricane, so stays away. When I see him hop next to a Blaster, BAM, Tornado, snow storm, TP to him, Freezing rain, Total Focus, Snipe. Pretty much dead. That really annoys them.
TBH, I enjoy it when people call you a noob, it just means they hate you for being great

Granite can not be dropped in PvP by Toggle drops, but if you get enough Energy melee-ers and dominators (only a few with domination) and it'll be down before you can say
"NO WAIT I WASN'T READY HACKER HACKER! CHEATER! I WAS AFK ZOMG!!!! NOOB!!!!!!!" -

Does anyone know their damage output? as in... Corruptors are 75% of Blasters (think it's that, isn't it?) what are Dominators? Same as Defenders? -

So, Mr Robot. In your opinion (don't give stats, percentages, or anything else) or in anyone else that can be bothered, what is better/pros & cons out of Fire or Mind? Bearing in mind, I know Fire is more damage, and less hold. Remember, I want to be able to solo well, not die too often, team fairly well, and have a high lvl PvP build. -
Yeah.. guess so. That's what I did with Chi, but Energy doesn't seem very magical to me, more tech. And Fire seems more magical than tech. It could be tech if the animations were slightly different, but...

When I said after 32, I didn't mean that it would be Mass Confusion that made it solo-able, I meant that it could solo as well as a Dominator with pets.

Hi all. I have never really properly tried a controller or a dominator, and I think it's about time.
Currently, I think I'd like to play a Mind/Energy Dominator. Yes, I know that it has no pets, but I thought maybe my own damage output would compensate for this?
Basically, I want to try a Dominator that can solo like any other, after lvl 32. I also want to know how easy it is to solo against Elite Bosses as a Dominator, as I have no concept on how mezz protected they are.
If people say that Mind is 'gimped' because of the no pets (also, please tell me if this is a big problem!) I think I will either go Ice/* or Fire/Fire....
I will get a build up soon I hope, but I don't have the software where I am atm. -
I don't see why people say things around concept.
Chi is concept based, and he is Storm Dark. There are a few ways of looking at it:
1) Two completely different sets (eg Ice/Radiation Corruptor) is just stupid
2) Two completely different sets (eg Ice/Radiation Corruptor) is cool, as it means your character has two completely different powers!
3) Two completely different sets (eg Ice/Radiation Corruptor) is cool, because it can make your character uber.
4) Your character can be a Mage-type character, like Chi. He can summon evil spirits and control the skies to defeat his foes.
5) Your character can be a Robot/Gadget king. So they have eg special gloves that have many different functions, such as shooting electricity and summoning fire swords.
6) You could actually play an MMORPG in RP. It doesn't really matter what the powers are called, does it? An Energy/Sonic corruptor, for example, could be very simple to Energy/Force field. Your (<robot or whatever> could be able to control his energy bolts, and give his allies protective shields.
7) Maybe your character could be Sonic/Radiation (for solo) and they are a cry baby? Their origin could be Science. They could be a camp, male diva drama queen, that can control radiation. They just like shouting a lot.
8) You could just not care

mmm... naaa.. Fire isn't good in PvP at all, but is probably my favourite for PvE.
For PvP you don't want any AE attacks really, as they do hardly anything to other players... against NPCs, however, a few attacks and the mob is down.
The currently FotYear PvP Blaster is Ice/Energy. Ice is the highest ST damage dealer from the primary, and Energy from the Secondary, taking down a Tank pretty quickly. And for tough Corruptors/Stalkers that you can't seem to get with your damage, you can stack all your Holds (from Ice) and Stuns (from Energy) until they are still/detoggled, leaving them open for a 2 shot
*/Devs is pretty cool too, +perc, stealth, bombs... quite well rounded. Also good for getting cocky stalkers: Pretend you're afk with a billion bombs beneath you.
If you wanna take down a Granite, go Elec/Elec.
There is no such thing as a 'Best' PvP build, some are more suited to others.
Probably the most rounded set (for ST and AE attacks) is Energy/Energy imo. Energy primary has some good ST and AE for PvE, and you get the punches for PvP. I think an Energy/Energy blaster is going to be my next project tbh. -
For Blasters, your nuke is definetley worth it. Probably not for some Defenders/Corruptors (except kinetics) as they won't be able to Defend. For Blasters, most things you hit will be dead, and the extra damage on Inferno is a big boost.
Of course, it's not worth it on a small mob, but if you have a big mob, that will be hard for the team* to take out, a nuke is just what can turn the tide.
*Solo, however, a mob that won't be taken out with the nuke shouldn't really be nuked, as you will be left open for attack. Maybe put in some AoEs (won't be hard with fire/x) until they're hurt a bit, then nuke if necessary. Although a nuke drains your endurance, it doesn't cost a lot to cast.
[edit]: My Corruptor is Fire/Kinetics, so with Aim + Fulcrum & Soul Drain (compare it to your Aim & Build up) I do one hell of a lot of damage.
Seeing as Aim + BU come back before Nuke, you should never really Inferno without them, unless it's not planned, and is out of desperation. This means, that you don't have to put too many Accs in it. My Inferno is slotted 3dmg, 1acc, and 2rch. With hasten (admittedly I have Siphon Speed) it comes back for around every 1.5 mobs. And when it's back, I will use it on the next worthy mob. I will never just let it sit there. For kinetics, all I have to do is nuke, pop a blue, Transference, heal, then carry on, till the next nuke.
Inferno is very good, in the sense that if the mob is too difficult, you can wear them down with AoEs and DoT until they're ready.
Although the DoT on Inferno is in a way very useful, in that it will add on a hefty amount to the output, it doesn't mean that you can simply take on a bigger mob than say... Nova can. Because as long as the DoT is still working on them, they are not dead. And as long as they are not dead, they will still be attacking your enduranceless self.

Personally, I would've preferred it to be a fast recharge PBAoE mezz protection... instead of a heal. But the single target is still good.
People don't really realise how good the protection is.... I think that there should be an animation to it, maybe bubbles around the target's head or something, to make it more acknowledged. -
Well, with a free respec and an earned one I got ages ago, I respecced into a more... Afro Build . I'll post it later, with slots and everything.
Basically, I got rid of o2 and swapped for gale, I had to get rid of TP Foe to make room for more powers, I got Dark Pit, the Disorient dark power, and thunderclap. I had to get rid of Tornado, which I must say I did like very much....
I'll see how it goes, now that it's properly slotted, and if it doesn't work, I'll post my previous Tank build.
