Ebony Shadows - the original darkity dark domi on this round - will be there again.
2 darkity dark domis will be even more fun -
Quote:Given that the vast majority of our content is "instanced", I'm confused as to what you are talking about above. The only content that isn't instance-based are the events such as the current Nemesis invasion and random street hunts (which are generally loathed by the player base).
IF the Standard Code Rant leads the Devs to the conclusion that cross-server instanced-only teaming (...which leaves a lot of content out, really...) is less server-strain / drawback / downside / whatever than opening up free & unlimited character transfers would be, then it makes sense, I suppose.
But even so, there would seem (to me) to be a lot of stuff that "cross-server instance-based teaming" leaves out in the cold.
What is your definition of a "lot of content" that isn't instanced? -
Erm -
Are we still running this even if the Nemesis invasion starts on May 1? -
Sorry about missing the run for Synapse. Ebony Shadows will be there this Tuesday, though (crosses fingers, since I think I have to travel and I'm hoping the hotel's internet can handle the game).
-
Since I missed Synapse on uesday night, I will bring Ebony Shadows (darkity dark dark domi) this Saturday.
Serendipity! -
-
There's a possibility that I won't make it to the TF this week - our trade association's annual conference is this week and I have to be part of the Tuesday evening "enforced fun" stuff happening there.

Quote:I don't PvP because I have never really liked it... in any game. I have not played games due to PvP being anything close to a major component. It's why I stopped playing FPSs... they are pretty much all about PvP now it seems.
And the comment above about trash talk just being part of it? I can't get around the fact that it seems unnnecessary to me, no matter how ya justify it.
What didn't help the cause in this game was all tbhe powerleveling and massive min/maxing that went along with PvP. Things I hate doing. I almost never IO a character as it is, let alone feeling required to get the expensive ones and all the Acccolades just to compete.
And behind all of that is an underlying personality quirk of mine. I hate not being able to succeed at things. Its why when I buy a game involving two-player I can never just play it for the first time with a friend. I have to solo for a while to teach myself how it works. In PvP, the only way to get better is to play more, there is no such thing as learning solo first.Quote:Try not to mistake this for a personal attack but..some of this is RUBBISH. I play on freedom and virtue, and I see JUST as much, if not more, PLing going on by 100% pvers! Hell, I am in atlas park now, and I could ask for an sg invite to Groups who never ever pvp..yet farm constantly.
I freely admit that I often trash talk people in pvp zones about how few badges they have (lolz, pve IS hard dude!) but I can see their point. See the other side. Those pve's who love pve yet hate pvp..they NEVER have to pvp. Ever. The pvp crowd who hate or dont care for pve..guess what..they still have to do it to get to 50, before they can pvp (leaving aside non 50 pvp zones).
And I agree that these steps make PvP unattractive to me as well. I think it is a difference in what I see the focus of the game being. For people who play the game to PvP (only or even just primarily), all of the PvE stuff that must be done to get to the zones is stuff to be gotten through as efficiently as possible. That may mean powerlevelling, in fact it usually does. It also means finding the most "productive" content to be used to get the inf and drops to IO the character to make it competitive at PvP.
Not my cup of tea at all.
Quote:Why don't I do PvP? There's a very clear answer to that: Why should I? Why on earth would I want to do something that causes bad feelings?
Either I lose, then I feel bad. Or I win, then another player feels bad. That's a loss/loss-scenario! Playing this game is supposed to be fun, but in my humble opinion it should not be fun at the cost of somebody else's fun.
Just look at true PvP games like that very successful and famous DotA clone whose initials seem to indicate that somebody was laughing hard. Listen to the players talk to each other. They get truly angry! They curse at each other, even at their team members!
When I spend some free time playing games, I want to have a good time. I want to enjoy playing. PvP requires me to spoil somebody else's fun in order to have fun myself. I don't want to do that, therefore I don't PvP.
10joy
Some personality types enjoy competing. great! Go for it!
But I liked the fact that PvP was not part of CoH when I started the game back before they brought in arenas. I don't enjoy it, I don't do it. End of story.
Pretty simple, really. -
Bringing Ebony Shadows. She's some sort of darkness-based character, but I can't remember which AT, either 'troller or dominator.
I was going to run her through the last set of TFs, but we already had darkness covered with the last group, so she's been waiting her turn, patiently sitting at level 11 or thereabouts. -

Quote:"Flying mounts?" "Ground mounts?" I'm not sure that the system could handle such a thing, based on discussions about motorcycles, etc., in the past. I know we have the Flying carpet and the Hoverboard, but aren't those working only by having the player avatar stand on the item and do nothing, including no toggles?perk system requires to gain by prestige by buying it with prestige the Sg money system. LIke buying flying mounts or ground mounts in the near future also more
I still don't see what these "perks" might be, even if they are purchased with prestige. -
AdAstra will be there (Dark/Iceblaster)
-
I will bring someone. I'm not sure Unseighle will be high enough for this one, but I have a "few" other alternative options.
After reviewing badges, I discovered that Ad Astra doesn't have the ones for Manti or Numi - sho she will be along for the next two weeks. -

Can you actually go ahead and enter the game?
I occasionally get a similar message, but I go ahead and enter the game and play as usual. I don't run at high-end Ultra Mode, though. -
Save a spot for Scorching Wrath, Fire/Therm Corr.
She's "almost" level 50. -
But what happens when that weekend (or week) is over and anyone who rolled up a villain to take advantage of the event leaves? Doesn't that leave redside in the same state?
This seems like an extremely temporary "solution".
If people don't want to play redside (and my own character ratio is about 75% Paragon City, 24% Rogue Isles, 1% Praetoria) because they don't like the look or feel of the zones or the stories there, tempting some of them to play there for a short period of time probably won't change their desire to play there permanently. -
In response to "When were scrappers nerfed?"
Quote:So - 2004? 2005? Isn't it time to let that one go?
This is a fair question, the AT as a whole has never been nerfed that I can remember. However do you remember this "Regen may be too good, it is going to see some small tweaks." At the time only scrappers had regen, my main and namesake was spines/regen made two weeks after live. I guess I am still bitter about that, where the heck was the Cottage Rule when Jack pulled that one? -
Simoon/Finders also said he will be there during last night's TF.

Didn't VIP's get all the darkity-dark-dark powersets that came out for I22 for free? That may not be the sets you wanted, but they are new powersets.
Personally, I'm here for as VIP for access to my alts You mentioned all the various characters you have and the different ways you play them - you may not be able to do so if you drop to Premium.
If you don't want Incarnates, and you are Tier 9, and you don't want ooodles of alts without having to pay for extra slots, you may be right that Premium is the way to go.
P.S. - as a long-time superhero comic book geek, I have to add "Long Live the Legion!"
