Quote:I like listening to you talkThose who think these two are ever in conflict either don't understand what is fun, or don't understand what is numerically correct.
Fun defines where you aim. Numerically correct ensures you hit it. Numerically correct game design never dictates fun, because numerically correct game design only specifies the how, it never specifies the what.
Numbers are basically the language of game implementation. To say there needs to be a balance between fun and numerically correct is like saying there needs to be a balance between missions that are fun and missions that are written with proper punctuation. -
I have a lot of /ice defenders. That being said, I always have the three single target attacks, frost breath, ice storm, and blizzard. Between being too cheap to buy Ragnarok or Apocalypse for them, I usually end up with 3 sets of Decimation and 2 Positron's. With one remaining power that can't give me 6.25% recharge, I usually opt for three Centrioles in Frost breath. That **** is amazing with centrioles in it. And they're cheap! Still to this day!

Quote:City on the left, forums/other websites/music/another City on the right. I can't NOT multitask anymore, I end up just falling asleep in my chair. If I'm not playing video games, left monitor is usually for youtube while I browse on the right or I use both for browsing sites independently. Or one is for D&D books. But I have an additional question for some of those who responded to date: why do you have TWO monitors? What do you use them for? Do you recommend that set-up to enhance the gaming experience?
tl;dr Multitasking.
A better question is: Why not?
I'm actually seriously jealous of Ele's case. He bought his a couple months ago, and mine is over a year old. His handles cable management and airflow WAY better than mine.
Shamster: I am seriously jealous of your desk. I have ALWAYS wanted a good wraparound desk, but I am too cheap to buy one, or I don't have enough room for one.

I would read the clue, say it out loud, and start thinking about it while I loaded the sg base.
Never worked though :| I've always played the game with neighborhood markers off, which made for a huge disadvantage for a lot of the hunts. -
Brute Fury changes and such, Tank hp cap going up, tank tier 1 powers getting new 'bruising' effect, shield charge nerf, trick arrow and archery buffs, martial arts buff, Fire armor buff, base run/fly speed buff, side switched epic power pools ( I haven't kept up to date on who is getting what and what is getting reworked, and I wouldn't be surprised if none of these made it to launch, but if scrappers can take shadow meld and tanks can take gloom and Darkest night, I will die a happy man). SO MANY NEW BADGES, trading insps to opposite faction in co-op zones, market merge, new cool insps.
This is all that I care about. -
I like to see a moderate amount of shadows in game, but not so much that I have to turn up brightness of gamma just to see what is under that shadow. I keep the old graphics options set to High normally, with the slider bars at about 80-90% to the right (just before they turn red) and run at about 80fps. Recently I've turned on the water/reflective effects because I like how shiny it looks, which pulls me down to about 60fps, but that's ok to me. The only time I ever go below these settings is if I'm loading 3 or more accounts. >.>

My total time on coh is inaccurate because I didn't have it installed between late 06 to early this year :\ but the times for the other games I play should be pretty accurate, at least the ones I've been playing recently.

Quote:Pretty sure he was referring to the fact that even though rare salvage prices are pretty normalized, they're still pretty much always VERY much cheaper to buy them with tickets, with ticket drop rates vs rare salvage/inf drop rates anyways. At least it sure as hell feels that way to me.Ele... this doesn't make sense. You get salvage drops from doing non-AE content (heck, you can for some AE missions as well), so what does it matter? You get stuff for playing, simple as that. No need to get annoyed at another part of the game you don't touch for that.

Quote:It was remade in 1981 so nyeah!
I have a friend who is a toy expert and he hooked me up.
They are Sidewinder and Sting from Dinoriders! -
Well I mean, the cartoon could be older than 80s. I really know that little about them. I do remember that the other spiky headed guys had black heads instead of brown though.

I can log onto the games just fine, as of 5 seconds ago

So I have had these toys for as long as I can remember, but have no idea where they came from. I used to have a lot more that were similar to them, but I've lost them over the years, but I've done my best to keep these last two with me wherever I go. They sit on my monitors or just chill around my mouse pad, and I've always wondered what they actually are from.
The only information I've gotten is that they are from some old 80s cartoon, something which I know little to nothing about, as I barely missed that whole thing.
Sooo any information? Help me out? kthx

Oh thank god, I thought it was just me.

I +repped you at least one or two times, because I'm a giver. I don't think I ever gave out -rep to anybody unless they REALLY annoyed me and everyone around us. (edit)or being a massive ******. Voo has an attitude but I dunno if annoying is a word I'd use to describe him. /hug

HA! Classic.
I would link to that in my sig if it happened to me.. -

Ryxx wasn't my first handle. Originally I named myself after one of my childhood nicknames, and I kept that name for more than a few months. Moving from toon to toon and AT to AT trying to find something I could bring myself to play over level 12, eventually I came to tanks. None appealed to me more than stone/stone. Trying to choose a name, I started my word association with rocks, which is similar in concept to bricks. Put those together and mess around with different spellings and you have Ryxx. He was immediately tons of fun, and a good toon to learn the game with. He was my first 50, but I changed my global to match his name around i7 ish or whenever they gave us the free global change around then. I think they've given us two more since then, but I've never once considered changing it. Ryxx is on the shelf now, partly from the stone hammers nerf and force feedback glitch being taken away (that was very very very fun for me), but mostly because I enjoy playing support or blasting more these days. Also they move faster, and I'm kinda antsy in this game; I rarely only play one account at a time unless I'm in a TF, and even then I often contact-sit or pocket-kin depending on who I'm playing with.
ANYWAYS
TL;DR: Rocks+bricks=Ryxx -
Quote:I'm shocked to disagree with Candlestick but here I am. I have 3 Kin Defenders at 50, /ice, /dark, and /archery. The archer is my least favorite of them all. I don't know if it just feels slow or generally weak, but it seems like it never does any real damage (even with full fulcrum) unless it's firing Rain of Arrows, and even then it doesn't ever seem able to drop a mob. I'll admit I've been used to playing my /ice, and damage capped ice storm and/or blizzard is just amazing and I've just been comparing archery to that powerhouse, but it appears to me that archery is simple weak on defenders.Kin/Archery is actually a damage machine once it gets rolling.
I've played an archery/mental blaster and it outdamages my kin/archery (pre 50 even) with just build up and aim, even without using rain it seems.
Never tried a /sonic before, and in hindsight I'm not really sure why. I suppose I don't like having to run in and out of mobs, especially since I leveled the /dark. I'm almost done with a kin/rad def, and he has just been tons of fun, I imagine he plays a bit like electric, except without the fun secondaries that elec has.
And so I offer no votes or guides, only my perspective. -
We need base raiding back so we can play repellball again.

Quote:This a thousand times over. I know I will certainly be rolling all new toons in the gray area so I can run with any team anywhere (<3), but as far as my old characters are concerned, I have a LOT of work to do. Do we have any more information anywhere about the specifics of switching sides, more than just "it'll take a long time?"Side switching/being able to play on the other side will make that a moot point, however, unless they make it unlocking Cimerora on crack. Making it so that all my characters can run both sides content will be a top priority of mine.
