  1. Congrats to @Ukase for hitting level 50 on his Blaster, Molten Heat!
  2. Welcome back.

RWZ is no longer the main meeting spot for trials. It is now Dark Astoria (the zone was revamped in i22 to become an Incarnate zone). We also have badge run iTrials typically hosted in Pocket D.

Blueside has always tended to be more active than redside on this server, but you can still get SFs and teams going if that's your thing.

As for global channels, there are a few you can join depending on your preferences. I would recommend checking out Champion's Global Channel Directory for a listing of channels, descriptions and their moderators.
  3. MoLambda posted for Saturday, May 5th.

Also, I think for MoMoM instead of scheduling a run I will just try to make an effort to run more of them in general. It is fairly easy to get most of the badges in a single run. The badge that gives most people trouble is the one for defeating all 16 Nightmares. If people are really struggling with this, we could have a day where we do the first phase over and over, but I'd like to try to run the actual trial more often before resorting to that tactic.
  4. On Saturday May 5th at 8pm Eastern in Pocket D I will host a MoLambda. Unfortunately, not all of the badges can be earned in a single run, so expect to do 3 runs back to back for the following 3 badges: Lambda Looter, Antacid and Well-Stocked. We are going to ignore Synchronized because most people probably already have it just from running the trial.

On MoLambdas we tend to get a good portion of "helpers" (which is great) but I'd also like to have a rough idea of who needs the badges so I can be sure to invite those people. If you are looking for the badge, please post in this thread. If you would like to attend just to help out, please post indicating your "helper" status.

Please bring your level shifted characters to give us the highest chance of success. I will start forming around 7:30pm Eastern. See you then!
  5. All the badges needed for MoUGT in one run! Really excellent job everyone. A lot of people on the ball tonight! Especially during our Avatar Assassin attempt. The damage control was amazing.
  6. Forming now in Pocket D!

I am also from Champion and often help new players with the game. There are several other players on the server that enjoy helping new players.

As SteelDominator said, the best way to connect with people on Champion is through global channels. Head over to the Champion forums, check out our Event Calendar, Global Channel Directory or introduce yourself.

If you decide to choose a server other than Champion but have questions about the game, send me a tell @Amygdala and I will be happy to help out.

    Great events! Thanks for hosting.
  9. Well Death Race was quite fun. 998 deaths. Good job team!
  10. I've posted another MoUGT run for April 28th.
  11. This Saturday April 28th at 8pm Eastern in Pocket D I will host a MoUGT run, paying special attention to Preservation Specialist AKA "The Bomb Badge". In order to get Preservation Specialist we must successfully complete the UGT (the badge will not award mid trial). Please bring your level shifted characters to give us the highest chance of success. If you have no character preference, try to bring a character with ranged damage and/or a snipe power if possible.

I will start forming around 7:30pm Eastern. See you then!
  12. Just had a successful impromptu run for bombs using snipers. Mind you, we had around 10 people with Snipe, which isn't common.

With that in mind, I think what I will do is pick the strat based on what shows up. Understandably people are going to want to bring their badge characters and not all of them are going to have Snipe. So bring what needs the badge and if we just so happen to have a lot of snipers we can try it that way.

I can't speak for the people that moved up ahead a bit, but it was probably just them trying to get into range, (I didn't see people move up that far ahead of you, which is why this is my guess). I'd just suggest standing at ~70(or closer) ft to make sure everyone is in range and/or just really make sure people are on follow, targetting you, with a ranged attack on auto.
I'm not asking people to stand behind me. I'm just asking them to not go past me (move up as I move up to my location and not further.) Perhaps this is a source of confusion.

Regardless, you should be at a distance where, if you're using 80ft attacks as instructed, they should be firing. If someone moves a couple feet ahead of me to get in range, that's fine, but the person who got too close was almost in melee with the bombs. That is too close.

As to where I was standing, I used a character specifically with standard 80ft attacks that didn't have Cardiac or anything slotted that would affect range. I usually try to stand a couple feet closer than max range to allow others to move up, like you suggested. I vaguely recall someone saying they fired off Clarion with a boost range component. I'm almost wondering if that threw people off near the end as it wore off.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Rest assured there will be other attempts. I may even run a few impromptu ones.

(and it wouldn't take but a couple minutes to transfer one)
I wouldn't ask you to transfer a character just for this. I'd bring the Snipe myself.

Also, quite a few people who were on the league last night read the forums.

I will try this in the future.

And when it came down to the end of the hallway, they had to take a second to click on you to find the target.

Yeah, it's weak, and pure conjecture. It's also possible that some of the inexperienced got confused seeing that large mob waiting on them. (despite clear directions on what to do)
This could be the reason. Sure, I asked people to click on me for the entire thing and ignore the group at the end, but whether or not that actually happened is debatable. If people had actually been targeting through me they would not have lost target. Since I use a targeting macro, the group at the end provides no interference.

You highlighted the pros and cons of each method well. I definitely have a preference, but I also have the badges. So in the end, it's not my badge at risk. If people who actually need the badges would rather sit in the large prep room idle for the time it takes to snipe the bombs in the hallway, I would be willing to try it.

Next time I'll make sure you're there!

In all seriousness, we should have gotten the "bomb badge" this past run. We had more than enough ranged damage.

We failed in the "hallway of doom". First, there was someone rushing ahead of me getting too close to the bombs. This cannot happen. Being in close proximity to a bomb is what sets off the timer. This is why we use attacks that are 80ft in range and slowly move up as a group. Doing this usually only sets off the timer on the bomb we're attacking. Second, people seemingly just stopped attacking at the second to last bomb and it took more than 10 seconds to take it out. I'm still not 100% sure why this happened. We seemed to be taking out the rest with ease and then the damage just dropped. If anyone could shed some light on why this occurred, it would be appreciated.

There have been some suggestions to use Snipe for this hallway. While this method is seemingly more "secure", I really really dislike having to ask for people to bring specific powers. I have used the strategy with 80ft ranged attacks (since those are far more common) many times and most of the times it succeeds. Where it fails is when people aren't following instructions and either run up too close, have pets out, etc. Either that or we just don't have the ranged damage (definitely not the case last night).

So before I schedule another run, I'd like to hear which method would people prefer? Waiting possibly a long time for Snipers to take care of the bombs in the hallway or keep trying the way we have been?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

This can be true depending on which channels you join. We have heavily moderated channels that are focused on game play without additional chatter and we have unmoderated channels that are a lot more social. So it really depends on which environment you prefer.
  18. No such luck on Preservation Specialist or Avatar Assassin, so I'll have to schedule another try. Otherwise very strong league. Thanks for coming.
