I just don't want to PvP. I suspect a large portion of the players here don
t PvP simply because they don't want to - I wouldn't have started playing this game if PvP were a part of it (which it wasn't when I started playing back in the fall of 2004) and I still avoid games which have PvP. -

1st!
OK, now I have to decide who I am bringing. This round, I'm using the cycle to fill in holes where somehow I have an alt missing one of the TFs, so I will have to inventory badges when I get home tonight. -
The long game is that they still add new story content (not quickly, but they do add it). They also add new powersets for the different archetypes.
Playing through the stories with one AT (Tanker or Scrapper, for example) is nothing like playing it on another (Blaster or Controller). That's where the replayability is in this game.
Also - there's no way to play through the current amount of stories on a single character without turning off XP to prevent outlevelling content. That also encourages making new characters.
Paid subscriptions get over 100 slots to make characters and experiment with powersets and ATs. I have over 50 characters myself because I like to experiment. There are some players who have 4 to 5 times that many.
But as for PvP, there really isn't much presence here and really never has been. As someone who has built 5 bases, I have zero interest in bringing back base raiding to see them destroyed. -
Oh, no!
I had been wondering where Steelclaw had been for quite a while now. I *always* found the lists to be at least mildly entertaining, with most being very, very funny.
So sorry that the haters have managed to drive off a talented individual. I'm really gonna miss the lists and I wish there was some way to keep getting them. -
Planning on it - my husband & I will be there (I just got him to commit to playing again!)
-
Dang! I waited just a little bit too long, and now it looks like the team is full.
I will hang out near Synapse Tuesday evening, just in case someone doesn't show up. I'm not sure who I will bring, but I will try to decide and update this post later.
EDIT: AdAstra Reborn - retro sci fi Rad/Ice Blaster will be joining the team tonight. -
Quote:So happy to see it isn't just me. About half of my 50s are Alpha'd, the rest haven't touched anything Incarnate, and every time I think about doing something Incarnate, I talk myself out of it because I would be so "newbie" at it and all the posts I see talk about people leaching and how awful it is when the team has to "carry their weight".Did they wait too long? Possibly. For one slot? To me, that only compounds it.
Then again, I don't actually worry all that much about the incarnate stuff. *shrug* it's just... *waves hands* over there somewhere, I rarely bother with it. I do, however, feel a bit of concern over the possibility that, whenever I *do* feel like running it (or getting another 50, since I did over the weekend and have several 40+ characters ready to go,) people are going to be too busy in the upper end trials to want to run the lower (and conversely see the lower-tier Incanrates as undesirable to bring along.)
I also have a small stable of characters in the 40s which will just add to my number of non-Incarnates.
So to me, the timing of this latest iTrial is a non-issue. -
Vazhilok Plague - ugh, endurance gimping for fun? I think not.
World Wide Red
The Hollows arc, at least the parts after Flux/Frostfire. -
I don't see the Prime Aurora Borealis as someone quite that busty and curvaceous, nor do I think she would be wearling that trench coat.
Issues like that would be one reason not to just re-color the Praetorian costumes...
That being said, I do agree that the avatars of the signature characters do need to be updated. I always feel kinda sorry for the miniature Manticore whenever I go to visit him to start that TF. -
I find the idea of modifying the minion-level mobs to eliminate (or drastically weaken, if somehow that is going too far) their mez to be very intriguing. If the number of opponents throwing mez around gets smaller, especially the extremely annoying Sapper, then I can go back to playing "smarter" and concentrate on taking out the mezzing boss or Lt if my concern is to avoid mez.
I also like the idea of reducing the range of NPCs as a way of making range a better defense. It gives the blaster back the "advantage" we were supposedly given back at the inception of the game.
And the other potential solution of using up three power picks to take Acro, not to mentin the enhancement slots to make it worthwhile? Lame.
Or struggling through 49 levels and then enough Incarnate content to get up to the level of getting Clarion (and never being able to choose anything else instead)? Even Lamer. -
Quote:Not to hijack the thread - but did you know that there will be a City of Heroes Meet 'n' Greet at BD's Mongolian Grill on Saturday at the con?Maybe I will just have to tell Felicia Day next Saturday. She will be at Origins game fair in Columbus, Ohio, I plan on going but wasn't going to stand in line for autographs.
It is a really cool ideal though.

I'm planning on it!

What is the blaster supposed to do about mez when he/she is NOT yet an Incarnate?
I get a bit annoyed when folks suggest the solution to being mezzed will eventually be solved once the blaster is 50+ and then takes one specific Incarnate power.
Interesting thought problem, Miladys. -
Bringing "someone" again - likely to be Lady Veridian (ill/kin troller) or Ad Astra (dark/ice blaster). When I was checking badges last night, one of them is missing Posi, but I can't remember which one at the moment.

Quote:Boo!There is a pretty good chance I will not make it. Computer is dead, and I do not have the new one yet. I am scavenging the remains (the hard drive and the video card are still good....) but I will probably not make it tonight.

Most recently, my best "score" on a name was Ebony Shadows (a darkity dark dark domi on Infinity).
I also have a fire/fire tank named Flambe' who has been in the game for almost 8 years now. -
If I can get Ebony Shadows levelled up, I'm bringing her.
If not, I may bring Southern Belle (elec/MM blaster) or Winter Shock (elec/cold controller) instead. -
Just a reminder - Origins is at the end of this month!

It's all good.
Either character would add to the fun!
