ah... then I will find 2 to review
(not that the thread didn't get off track before I got here or anything)
****************************
Mission:
"Don't rain on my parade!"
Arc ID: 4754
Length: Short
Missions: 1
Genre: Humor
Description: Arachnos had staged a devious kidnapping to disrupt the 23rd annual Freedom Phalanx Parade! Do you have what it takes to save the day?
Was humorous and I liked that it wasn't a bear to handle. My only question is about the Faction setting; is it supposed to be at 'Neutral'?
It seemed to have a hero only feel to it... but I ran it with my villain.
*******************************
Arc: 'Small Fears'
Arc ID: 6528
Length: Medium
Missions: 3 (nothing major- medium is a fairly accurate description)
Description: No matter how happy your childhood, there are always a few corners of darkness, little pockets of black fear that every child knows. And now those shadows are expanding. Something is clawing out of the lost childhood of Paragon. Are you ready? Ready to confront the forgotten fears of the nursery?
((It's a horror-themed arc; I really have no idea why that popped out of my brain, but it did; feel free to absolutely savage it, since horror is way outside my normal purview, and it's open to question whether or not I have the faintest clue what I'm doing with it :/))
Just finished the first mish... liked the map (must be a heroside one; never seen it redside); like how you got the Urchin to pop in after freeing the other two kids... I would drop the last ambush that spawns once you've already finished the mission.
2nd mission mommy dearest was constantly handing me my behind... then I noticed she was an EB... you might want to put an ambush in (if you can fit it)... was able to stealth through the first part with no problem
3rd mission, totally kicking my butt; it's cool though. . . I will kick some
Really dug the spawns, maps and even the story... was a bit difficult at points... just had to get back into the groove in order to get through it. Even noticed your spawns 'upgraded' further into the arc. -
I have 2 arcs I wouldn't mind getting a little assistance with:
Arc Name: Cat in a Tree
Arc ID: 5433
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: Yogi_Bare
Difficulty Level: Mid to Hard
Synopsis: Pretty much, get this cat out of some trees. The current version has been made easier.
Estimated Time to Play: Short
Link to More Details or Feedback: Really looking for constructive feedback before I plunge into more complex arcs
Arc Name: Lights, Camera, B-Flick
Arc ID: 9123
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: Yogi_Bare
Difficulty Level: Mid - Hard
Synopsis: You're getting paid big bucks to star in a couple of low-budget movies.
Estimated Time to Play: Unsure
Link to More Details or Feedback: Please PM me for feedback, or comment ingame. . . heck, drop me a line here if you feel like it.
One or both, all comments and critiques are welcome -

Thanks you to those that already have and thanks in advance to everyone else -
Are we able to put in freaked out civvies running all haywire in our maps (to help fill it out and add a little personality)?

I just wanted to get some clarification on something, which I think has been mentioned once before but I just want to nail it down.
There isn't any ability to make cutscenes with this tool, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
no cutscenes -
Are there going to be any pre-made maps exclusive to the MA?
If not, can we make suggestions on what we'd like to have added as unlockables and future updates? -
Just a quick thought... people going through all 50 lvls in MA mishes will be missing out on a lot of temp and accolade powers (unless they want to do a lot of Flashbacking); hopefully the MA system will have it's own set of 'perks' available to those who spend a majority of their time in that system (even if it's only usable in that system) w/o toggling off their XP option?

If i can use ALL kind of mobs in building my own story-arc, I'm able to earn defeat badges that actually are only for the other side?
[/ QUOTE ]
No. No regular badges earned for doing MA mishes. -

Someone said the video was uniformative, hm, oooookaaaay?
Let's see, it's the first of 3 planned webisodes so no, it wouldn't cover everything but it did cover farming and making challenging content.
It also answered the question on whether players would get paid for their content and what they could do if they didn't like it.
It implies that you can put multiple missions within an arc and control how many enemies a player can go up against.
It goes into what not to expect as MA rewards.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you being serious?
LOL
It amounts to a few vague hints at best. I already knew that I wouldn't be able to create a mission to rescue a cat from a tree, thanks.
[/ QUOTE ]
How easy it is to forget that these vids, screenshots and interviews aren't just for the veteran forumites [that] have been fine-toothing MA info since before i13s release.
So what, you already know you can't create a mission to rescue a cat [out] of [a] tree... (and I seriously hope that you didn't take that example [literally]) ...others may not; whether its casual players, returning players or new players.
Ego check.
Have a nice day.
[Edited for some crappy typos] -
No... it wasn't a rewards question... it was more of a tech question.
-
Can the cross-server function of MA be applied to converging Arena PvP?

And yes, it was humorous and a pleasant divergence from the usual machinima. (No, I'm not a fan of Dane Cook standup.) -
I've taken a look at all of the provided info and must say I am very happy with how everything looks, the FAQs and even the webisode.
[With the available screenshots; most questions should be covered]
i14 looks like it lives up to my expectations, hopes and then some (this is without even knowing the extent of the unlocks/purchases)
I do have a question though; if this goes into open beta (as opposed to going directly to live)... does the content created there go to the cross-server format (thereby being available as soon as live hits) or will 'test' *content have to be recreated once i14 goes active? -
Diminishing Returns on Merits has been shortened to 18hrs if I read correctly
-
As the clouds of DOOOM fade away; cheerful countenances shine brightly across at least a single neighborhood of the CoX community.
(And the check better be in the mail. -
I get sync issues (rubberbanding) when using SS or SJ type travel powers... it's almost like the screen redraw/refresh rate can't keep up with radical and rapid changes to the new PoV location (this seems to happen more when I'm SJing)
-
Second glance:
Change the end of mission rewards to per enemy awards and lower the bonus (for Inf, XP and Prestige)... so instead of getting a big 15-25% bonus to XP at the end of mish; you'd earn something like a bonus 5-10% per kill.
If this would make the proposed bonus be far beyond the scope of the current bonus, then I would also suggest reducing the earned timer to an hour.
Still would like to see some unique base items tied into the Day Job badges/accolades earned by it's members.
Would also suggest breaking the Accolades into two categories: Minor and Major; Minor including Accolades with no temp power and weaker temp power bonuses... Major for the big time Accolades with the major temp power bonuses.
Chest/Shield Emblems/Tattoos and/or emotes unlocked by earning Day Job (and/or other) Badges/Accolades. -
I like the BNY XP... I average 2 to 2.5 bars per toon; no matter what level, solo on tier 2 difficulty... drops are okay.
I suck at skiing.
Would like to see candy canes added as drops from Frostlings (not a dire necessity being that you could run the BNY on tier 1 diff and stock up).
Would like to see Canes be convertible in the same way base salvage is.
Would like to see more use of the BNY type of map; frozen lakes and such... maybe even add wind/repel effect object(s) to these/other maps... (make the map available for MA?) -
It's all new to me.
Besides, I thought they did periodic purges of old, non-stickied threads. Guess not. -
I cannot agree with the mantra of 'poor doms' being expressed here although the only one I've played is my Ice/Ice (which may be the exception to the rule)
I've supplemented my single target holds by adding hold procs to all of my single target attacks allowing me to hold more often and occasionally bypass targets with high hold protection
I've chosen a Primary/Secondary with good soft controls
When my domination is up and going... bosses stay held, even some EBs don't get much freedom (but I do have to put them down b4 domination runs out)
My ranged damage isn't great so I utilize the melees.
Also using Pounding Slugfest and Devastation sets to boost overall damage along with Soul Drain.
Have plans for my Ice/Elec as well; similar soft controls plus a high damage secondary -
After putting a few Day Job Badges on a few of my alts, I would like to say:
If the badge/temp power charge time stays at 21-30 days, then the temp powers need to stick around longer or be put on a per use quantification (instead of a timer) where applicable.
If changing the temp power durations is not an option, then the time needed to recharge it should be lowered.
I understand that it does recharge faster once you get the badge but it seems marginal but what I would propose is this.
Once you get the badge, not only is the recharge faster but the power's duration should be made longer as well. (Spend less time charging and more time playing - especially if you have more than one)
Once you get an Accolade, it's corresponding badge powers should recharge no matter where you log (at the standard rate of recharge; faster if you log off at either badge's log off points) and the power's duration upped just a tad more.
It's kind of like going to college:
Earning the badge is like going for your Bachelor's, you pick up a few things here and there and can do some things at basic ability but once you actually have that degree; you can do those same things better and faster and new knowledge/refreshing old knowledge in that field is more easily absorbed.
Going for an Accolade is like pushing for a dual Major. The second course of study is just as much of a pain as the first but being that they are intertwined, they reinforce each other and by the time you get your Dual Bachelor's degree; both courses of study are stronger for it and allows you to pull off not only each courses individual potentials but new potentials that having 2x the education can afford.
Revisiting coursework and updating what you know in this field at this point should not be in tedious... sure, it should still take a little effort but nowhere near the same effort it took you to get there in the first place. -
Why would an AV be in St Martial, running her own errands and end up a captive of a mere group of LBs?
And she conned yellow in that mish while the flunky in the next part of the story conned orange. -
