So I thought I'd show what can be done with a CoH Wallpaper some screen shots and photoshop this one done of Ghost Widow in honor of the new Dark power sets -
not sure if this is really the right place but i couldn't seem find a better one: any way this is my official request for a new fan site kit maybe including the pictures on the battle style splashes as well as the splashes for "who will die" but that might just be me...

okay so this may sound stupid but how do you change your login splash screen I can't even figure out where that stuff is in the city of heroes folder

Emblems are just geometry and textures the same as everything else, there's nothing special about them. Embossed/shiny effects should also be doable with simple texture work.

That said though... When/if they upgrade the costume creator (and not just give it a new interface), it would be nice to see this put in. Along with tri-color costume options. -
yea its something I have always felt was missing currently a lot of the emblems look like decals slapped on to the chest

So, I got to thinking "I am sick of the chest options being either some piece of armor (some that kick *** others that kinda suck) and an emblem that Doesn't quite look right often." Then I thought "What If we had emblem options" so above is an example with the current look a "blended" option where the emblem takes on the shading, shape, and texture of the chest option, and the third an "Embossed" option where the emblem stand up off the chest.

Wow very nice, I wish I could draw this well... I have a whole host of toons I am itching to see illustrated... well illustrated better then I can do it :P

So in the beta servers The Imperial Dynasty Belts all worked with the robes but now on the live server they aren't even an option with the robes... this makes me sad face (sorry if this is the wrong forum)

Just writing task forces with a slightly different focus (i.e. common enemy, rather than the end of the world) doesn't require new mission systems.
I do not envy the developer that will have to balance the final pvp mission as well, so that one hero stands a chance to seven villains (or vice versa), and I do not envy the community manager who has to defend "forcing pvp" onto players that stay as far away from pvp as possible.
Option 2 is then slightly more realistic than option 1, but I can't see either of them happening.
After 18 pages of refuting "but if you destroy the world, you will die as well, so it can't happen", what did you expect?
TF ends with Mutal enemy defeated Return to contact heroes get a new hero contact Villians get a new Villain one .
Hero contact: You have Have Kept Agent X from carrying out his plan to blow up all the Brothels on Rogue Isles and Paragon, but he got away YOU MUST GO AFTER HIM!
Slimy weasil villain informant: Hey The heroes are distracted chasing After Agent X now is the perfect time to take advantage you can:
- Go on a looting spree
- Assassinate the mayor
-Go to a brothel and pick out your favorite girl while the heroes chase after him
then you do like 2-3 more missions and the last mission (depending on your choice) is rockin Villians only SF or multiplayer Destruction mission
Thus kind of doing at the very least a better job of showing "hey you where a hero for only a moment" :P

I really, really, REALLY, REALLY wish people would READ THE THREAD before coming in and immediately beating the dead horse that everyone's already beaten two or three hundred times earlier in the discussion.
I agree for a story line while the heroes are off trying to save the world that the villains should have a story line that allows them to take advantage of the confusion/ chaos, but that works really only for the parts of the story that don't take place in a co-op TF/ Trial for the trial its self to complete it you have to defeat a common foe or reach a common goal (hence co-op).
My going through every thing I said (even knowing it was said), was me stating an opinion (and some facts) to lead in to a solution... See rather then just complain I also try to come up with solutions.
here are some new ones (as well the first one that seems to have been glossed over):
1) end the Co-op TF in a PvP battle (the side of the last one standing gets a bigger bonus and story reward)
2) Don't end the story arc in the Co-op: okay the heroes and Villians worked together sent the butt wipe running now the heroes are chasing after them in another TF while the villains go cause chaos
The thing is for a TF (not the story leading up to it persay or story after it) to be co-op Blue and red both sides must have a common cause at least for the immediate moment even if the end game is different, I do see the point that its ALWAYS the Villains are being forced to help save the world from group or guy X.
So, that bring up a 3rd and 4th idea (and no I did not read every post here, i got 2 pages in and saw it was the same back and forth including arguments I have previously made):
3) maybe a story arc where the Villains trick the heroes in to helping them with the end result that they take down another Hero unwittingly or the fight being a ruse to leave the heroes weakened/ tired or distract them so the Villains can cause a problem else where
4) aside from the end goal (stop guy X or shut down this lab or w/e) maybe give heroes and Villains separate mini goals with in the TF/ trial like while the Heroes are trying to destroy crates of ammo and bombs the villains steal intel and chemicals for there own purposes.
I apologize if I came off sounding like I was just shoving a moot point down your throat, that wasn't my intent my intent was to try and find a solution, I don't play villains much my self cause they don't feel evil enough, I mean a lot of the regular missions are fighting other villains and villain groups and not nearly enough sticking it to the heroes and innocents (like why the hell can't you beat up the protesters out side the arachnos fort?). So, I get it. Again sorry if I came off preachy not the intent.
2 last notes:
1) yes I know I restated things said before or things that are obvious, I didn't do it to "beat a dead horse" (as fun as that is) I did it so what I said after that hopefully had some cohesion.
2) I find it some what humorous that people got on my case for repeating the same thing others had said yet several of you did just that in the space of one page :P

Listen it is simple a Hero will save the earth and universe for the greater good
Villains (with a few exceptions) will save the earth/ dimension because of self preservation, even if you can slip in to other dimensions what is to stop the villain you are stopping from going to that dimension and doing the same thing?
Bottom line either the nut is stopped or every one suffers, even if you argue "Hey my Villain is immortal and wants to subjugate the universe" not worth ruling a universe when ever one in it is dead!
Sorry the game doesn't allow you to be the world destroyer your self, that story just doesn't work in an MMO unless you your self get thwarted. which come to think of it might be a fun angle to play.
Maybe what they need to do is offer some interesting options for co-op TFs and trials, like once you defeat the mutual enemy the Villains get to turn on the heroes starting a short PVP session at the end of the TF, make it a V vs. H Last man standing deal, who ever wins gets the prize. Villains win they are rewarded with a cut scene of strapping the British word for a undesirable person that beggins in W I can't believe they bleeped in to a device and siphoning his power and a reward is given. Heroes win they get a cut scene of the vagabond being hauled to a maximum security prison and then positron or some one awards them with special trinket and a reward is given.
thing is when it comes to "end of the world as we know it" scenarios you really have 2 choices of story line to write as writers of the game. First is Villains help heroes, Second is Villains assist Villain trying to end the world and fail (unless they are planning on ending the MMO or moving every one to a new parallel universe) -

I agree too, you don't actually NEED a tablet to learn how to colour. It's a luxury, really. But drawing and painting with your mouse is far from good for your mousehand. So it is recommended to use a tablet once you start to draw more .
Also, I bought my tablet (wacom intuos 3)...ehm... second-hand? Translate Google says it's good, so... second-hand... or used. It was a brilliant condition when I bought it, was only used once for a demonstration (I've been drawing ALOT on it and now it actually looks used *giggles*) and I got it for 50% the price I would have to pay when buying it new. I got lucky with that one, but I'm sure there are more good deals out there.
If you don't want to screw up your drawing (I've been there too ), just go and scan it, so you'll have a digital copy of the original.
After that you can either ink the original or print the copy and ink that one.
It's always good to have back ups!

I think you've done quite well on this piece. Have confidence. You know of all places you have supporters here.
As far as programs go. There are the big names, the $600 behemoths, but there are also a lot of great very cheap applications out there, that can offer a lot of what you need. You just need to find them.
